New Delhi, Apr 20 (ANI): Indian Overseas Congress Department chairman Sam Pitroda on Saturday said he doesn't regret his comments on Balakot air strikes as he spoke the "truth" by asking a question to which he had every right. Pitroda also questioned the reactions of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) chief Amit Shah and said the latter went "wild" with his remarks on Balakot.

EC postpones scrutiny of Rahul's nomination papers over alleged discrepancies in candidature

Amethi (Uttar Pradesh), Apr 20 (ANI): After an independent candidate from Amethi, Dhruv Lal, filed a complaint alleging discrepancies in Congress president Rahul Gandhi's candidature, the Election Commission officer of the district ordered postponement of scrutiny of Gandhi's nomination papers to April 22. Ravi Prakash, Lal's lawyer told ANI, "On basis of certificate of incorporation of a company registered in UK, he declared himself a UK citizen. A non-citizen can't contest polls here." "There are no details on assets and profits of the company mentioned in the affidavit. There are a number of mistakes in his educational qualification certificates. The original educational certificates should be presented so that his (Rahul Gandhi) claim can be established," Prakash added.

LS polls: BJP will win all 26 seats in Gujarat, assures Vijay Rupani

Rajkot (Gujarat), Apr 20 (ANI): Chief Minister of Gujarat Vijay Rupani on Saturday said that Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will win 26 out of 26 seats in the state. He said that the people of Gujarat have faith in Prime Minister Narendra Modi that he will do well for the state. Voting for phase three of the Lok Sabha elections to be held in 115 parliamentary constituencies spread across 14 states on April 23. Gujarat (26) will go for polling in the third phase.

Rahul Gandhi wears 'janeu' in Amethi, hides in Wayanad: Prakash Javadekar

Jaipur (Rajasthan), Apr 20 (ANI): Union Human Resources Development (HRD) Minister Prakash Javadekar on Saturday said that Congress president Rahul Gandhi wears his 'janeu' in Amethi but hides when he is in Wayanad, the second constituency from where he is contesting the Lok Sabha elections. Minor girl attacked with acid in Bihar's Bhagalpur, neighbour arrested

Bhagalpur (Bihar), Apr 20 (ANI): A 17-year-old girl was badly injured after her neighbour threw acid on her in Bihar's Bhagalpur on Friday. The incident took place in Aliganj area of Bhagalpur. He followed a failed attempt to molest her. This unfortunate incident happened when the victim was at home with her mother. Speaking to media persons, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Roop Ranjan Hargave said, "The culprit, Prince, along with three other persons barged into the victim's house and tried to molest her, while keeping her mother at gunpoint. When the girl resisted, they threw the acid on her face. We have recovered a gun from the spot." Prince has been apprehended in this regard. The victim has been shifted to the Patna Medical College and Hospital (PMCH), where she is being treated for her injuries.

Kashmir Road Safety Foundation initiates road safety awareness campaign in Srinagar

Srinagar (J-K), Apr 20 (ANI): Jammu and Kashmir traffic police department in collaboration with the Kashmir Road Safety Foundation (KRSF), an NGO has organised road safety awareness campaign among the Kashmir students. The main objective of the organisers is to create awareness among the Kashmiri students about traffic safety rules and regulations. This workshop will be conducted in 10 different higher secondary schools, across the Kashmir valley. The aim is to educate teenagers so that they may not violate traffic rules and neglect their safety. The students appreciated this step, as it helped them to understand the importance of traffic and safety rules.

Delhi Police crime branch reaches at Rohit Shekhar Tiwari's residence

New Delhi, Apr 20 (ANI): The crime branch of Delhi Police reached at Rohit Shekhar Tiwari's residence today. Rohit Shekhar was found dead on April 16 under mysterious circumstances. The questioning is taking place at Rohit's residence in Defence Colony in south Delhi. Speaking to ANI on this matter, Rohit Shekhar Tiwari's mother, Ujjwala Tiwari said, "There was tension between Rohit and his wife since the first day of marriage. It was a love marriage. Currently, Delhi crime branch is questioning the wife of Rohit Shekhar Tiwari." Rohit was declared dead when brought to the Max Hospital in Saket on April 16.
