New Delhi, Apr 14 (ANI): A major fire that was broke out at a rubber godown in Delhi's Siraspur area was successfully doused after around 22 fire tenders rushed to the spot. No casualties took place due to the fire.
Ahmedabad (Gujarat), Apr 14 (ANI): Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis today paid tributes to B.R. Ambedkar on his 128th birth anniversary. Fadnavis remembered Ambedkar for the work the latter did for the making of India's constitution and said that it was BJP-led state government in Maharashtra that have initiated the construction of a 'smarak' of Ambedkar in Mumbai, scheduled to complete in 2020.

New Delhi, April 14 (ANI): To commemorate the centenary of the Jallianwala Bagh massacre, Nanak Singh's lost manuscript, Khooni Vaisakhi, translated for the first time into English by the author's grandson; Navdeep Suri was released in capital New Delhi on Saturday. The book, also featuring essays by Navdeep Suri, H.S. Bhatia and by Justin Rowalatt, whose great-grandfather, Sir Sydney Arthur Taylor Rowlatt, who drafted the Rowlatt Act that was being protested in Jalianwala Bagh the has been published by Harper Collins India. 22-years-old at that time, the renowned Punjabi writer Nanak Singh was present at Jallianwala Bagh on 13 April 1919 and was the first hand witness to the barbaric act by the British. After going through the traumatic experience, he proceeded to write Khooni Vaisakhi, a long poem that narrates the political events in the run up to the massacre and its immediate aftermath. Rajouri (Jammu and Kashmir), Apr 14 (ANI): Lt Gen Paramjit Singh in Rajouri, GOC16 Corps informed yesterday that Pakistan has violated ceasefire along the Line of control about 513 times. He said, "513 ceasefire violations by Pakistan have taken place along the Line of Control, in the last one and a half month. Pakistan used heavy weaponry over 100 times during these violations." He added, "Whenever Pakistan carries out such violations, we also retaliate effectively. As per our sources, Pakistan Army has suffered five to six times more casualties than the casualties on the Indian side."
Jhabua (MP) Apr 14 (ANI): A woman here was allegedly shamed by the villagers for marrying a man belonging to a lower caste. The woman, reportedly in her twenties, was forced to carry her husband on her shoulders. The incident took place nearly 340 km away from Bhopal in Jhabua district of the state. The matter came to fore after a video of the incident went viral. In the video, the woman can be seen carrying her husband on her shoulder as men surrounding her force her to continue walking. When she pauses to rest, the crowd hooting at her plight begins to jeer. Helpless, she continues to walk. The police have taken cognizance and registered a case under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code. Vineet Jain, Superintendent of Police (SP) Jhabua said: Some people in a group disrespected a woman in Devigarh, Jhabua. A case has been registered against all of them and two people have been arrested. We are trying to nab the rest of the accused.

The space agency has launched a new social media event to see how others (non-scientists or astronauts) see the Earth. As part of the #PictureEarth event on April22, 2019, which marks Earth Day, NASA is inviting everyone to post a close-up photo of their favourite natural features of the planet, such as crashing waves, ancient trees, blooming flowers, or stunning sunsets. NASA explains on the official blog that users can upload the photo on April 22 and use the hashtag #PictureEarth. If you are participating, be sure to include the location where the photo was taken in the description across social media channels including Instagram, Twitter, and NASA's Earth Facebook event page. NASA will select the best photos from around the world to showcase them later in videos and composite images. The agency will also share some of the most stunning images of Earth from space.

Mathura (UP) Apr 14 (ANI): A 5-year-old boy who fell into a deep borewell in Uttar Pradesh's Mathura on Saturday was rescued by a team of personnel from Police and National Disaster Response Fund (NDRF). The borewell was about 100-foot deep at a village in Shergarh. An ambulance was waiting at the spot to rush the boy to the hospital after the rescue operation concludes. While speaking to ANI Mathura's Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Sher Shigh, said, "The child is perfectly fine, he is not facing any problems but as a precaution we have given him some necessary medicines. He will stay admitted for the night and will be released tomorrow."

Nanded (Maharashtra), Apr 13 (ANI): Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis campaigned for upcoming Lok sabha elections in Nanded constituency today. He slammed Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray and Congress leader Ashok Chavan. Commenting on the Raj Thackeray's election campaign for Ashok Chavan in Nanded constituency, CM Fadnavis said, "In Nanded, the environment in favour of BJP-Shiv Sena alliance is such that Ashok Chavan is paying rent to bring people in rallies.
