Budaun (UP), Apr 13 (ANI): Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) president Mayawati on Saturday addressed a public rally in Uttar Pradesh's Budaun. Thiruvananthapuram (Kerala), Apr 13 (ANI): Congress leader Shashi Tharoor reacted on British Prime Minister Theresa May expressed 'regret' in Parliament for the Jallianwala Bagh massacre. Terming British PM Theresa May's statement a welcoming first step, he said, "British Prime Minister Theresa May's statement is a welcome first step, that's all it is, it doesn't go far enough. The fact is what happened in Jallianwala Bagh deserves an apology as an active atonement. Jallianwala Bagh massacre: UK Govt want to apologise for their own sake, says Indian Ambassador to UAE

New Delhi, Apr 13 (ANI): April 13, 2019 marks the 100 years of Jallianwala Bagh massacre. India's Ambassador to UAE and translator of Punjabi poem 'Khooni Vaisakhi', Navdeep Suri while talking to ANI on if UK Government should apologise for the massacre, he said, "This is something that they would probably want to do for their own sake, not so much to assuage Indian opinion." He added, "The strand that runs very strongly right through the book (poem) is the remarkable sense of unity between the Hindu, Muslim and Sikh communities at that time."

Watch: Car driver drags toll plaza employee on bonnet in Gurugram

Gurugram (Haryana), Apr 13 (ANI): A car dragged toll booth worker on car's bonnet in Haryana's Gurugram for some distance. The incident took place after the driver was asked to pay toll tax for his journey. The driver rammed the car into the employee, forcing him to cling on to the car's bonnet and dragged him along. The incident was captured on the CCTV footage.

Kolkata police denies permission to conduct bike rally on 'Ram Navami'

Kolkata (West Bengal), Apr 13 (ANI): The Kolkata police denied permission to conduct a bike rally on the auspicious occasion of 'Ram Navami'. Ram Navami Udjapan Samiti had come out with the idea to conduct a bike rally but they were not permitted to do the same due to safety and security reasons. Later, they conducted a normal rally on roads to mark the day. Different rallies of 'Ram Navami' are scheduled to take place in Kolkata on April 13 and 14. Rally was not allowed official permission due to law and order issue.

Budaun (UP), Apr 13 (ANI): Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) president Mayawati on Saturday replied to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath's earlier 'Ali' 'Bajrang Bali' remark. She said, "Ali and Bajrang Bali both are ours." Recently, UP CM had earlier said, "If the Congress, Samajwadi Party and Bahujan Samaj Party have faith in Ali, we have faith in Bajarang Bali". Adityanath's remark came while referring to Mayawati's speech at a rally in Deoband, where she urged Muslim voters to back the alliance in Uttar Pradesh.

Shahjahanpur (Uttar Pradesh), Apr 13 (ANI): Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Amit Shah on Saturday said that Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) supremo Mayawati remembers BR Ambedkar only during elections, and builds her own statues after coming to power. Shah added that it was the BJP government that built memorials of Ambedkar in the last five years. "When it is time for elections, behenji remembers Ambedkar ji but when she comes to power, she forgets Ambedkar ji and builds her own statues. It is the BJP govt that has built Ambedkar ji's memorial in 5 years," Amit Shah said at a public rally in UP's Shahjahanpur.

Amritsar (Punjab), Apr 13 (ANI): Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu today visited Jallianwala Bagh memorial to pay homage to victims in Amritsar on commemoration of 100 years of massacre. Vice President also released commemorative coin of Rs 100 and postage stamp. Watch: Clash erupts between traders and police over sealing drive in Delhi's Mayapuri

New Delhi, Apr 13 (ANI): Clashes erupted between local traders and police in Delhi's Mayapuri Industrial area on Saturday. Clash erupted after MCD officials launched ceiling operation in the area following National Green Tribunal's (NGT) order to seal nearly 850 factories for allegedly violating pollution norms. Terrorists in Shopian encounter affiliated to JeM: Kashmir IGP

Srinagar (J and K), Apr 13 (ANI): Two terrorists were gunned down after an encounter broke out between them and security forces in Jammu and Kashmir's Shopian district today. This incident took place in Gahand area of Shopian. This is why I wished to leave Rampur," said Jaya Prada. "I even told Mulayam Singh ji that my indecent photos are being circulated in Rampur, save me. Congress' NYAY is an admission for injustice they did for 60 years: PM Modi

While addressing the gathering PM Modi continued his attack on Congress party. Targeting Congress' NYAY scheme, he said that all the main opposition party has done is injustice to the nation for 60 long years. "Congress speaks about NYAY. It means they agree that they did injustice to the nation for 60 long years. So, it is ANYAY," said PM Modi. "Who will do Nyay to governments of the great MGR Ji, which were dismissed by Congress just because one family didn't like those leaders? Who will do Nyay to victims of Bhopal Gas Tragedy, among the worst environment disasters in India. That too happened under Congress," added the Prime Minister.
