Sir Dominic Asquith's also wrote message in the visitor's book at Jallianwala Bagh memorial. Jallianwala Bagh massacre is considered as one of the deadliest attacks in the history of the world. It led to the deaths of several unarmed Indians by the soldiers of the British Indian Army in Amritsar.

New Delhi, Apr 13 (ANI): Chronic diseases are a key factor behind the declining mobility of old people, a new study suggests. The study incorporated 779 twins aged between 71-75 years who were currently living at homes. The study brought out that chronic diseases were behind the significant decrease in the measured amount of mobility without the research subjects noticing it. For individuals without diseases, the accrued number of steps per day was on average almost 7,000. In turn, those who reported at least three diseases moved less than 4,000 steps per day. Being physically active in younger adulthood or early middle age did not affect the results," Professor Kujala explained.

New Delhi, Apr 13 (ANI): Even as there are global standards of keeping recyclable and non-recyclable waste separate, waste handlers spend a lot of time sorting the pile of waste to ensure the right material is sent for recycling. Now, MIT researchers have invented a robot in order to cut down on the time consumed in sorting. Called RoCycle, the robotic system is capable of automatically identifying and sorting recyclable materials using pressure sensors, Mashable reported. The sensors identify the materials based on the amount of pressure exerted on them. There are chances of human error when it comes to identifying materials, however, RoCycle is able to differentiate between paper, metal, and plastic with 85 percent accuracy just by touching them. After identifying the material, it automatically drops them in the right bin.

New Delhi, Apr 12 (ANI): Shehnai maestro late Ustad Bismillah Khan's grandson Ustad Nasir Abbas has written a letter to the Prime Minister expressing his wish to be present when Narendra Modi files his nomination for the Varanasi parliamentary constituency in the ensuing Lok Sabha polls. "In 2014, we received an invite from the Bharatiya Janata Party but we had no knowledge about politics at that time as we are musicians. Also, some members from the Congress had brainwashed us and asked us not to join Prime Minister Modi's nomination team. Due to this, my family had rejected the invitation. Mumbai, Apr 12 (ANI): Several employees of debt-ridden Jet Airways staged a protest at the Mumbai Airport on Friday. The employees were demanding release of their salaries. "We are not holding a protest, we just want to know about our salaries. We have not received our salary. We're facing a lot of problem in our day to day life. We want clarity as to what is happening in the management," said protestor. Jet Airways has been facing a tough time to pay salaries of its employees, as rising debts and operational losses are pushing the airline to the brink. Earlier, the airline company was forced to cancel several flights, citing operational reasons. Many of Jet Airways' international flights had also been cancelled. On March 25, Jet Airways chairman Naresh Goyal and his wife Anita Goyal had resigned from the board of directors, following pressure from its lenders as the debt burden mounted to Rs 8,000 crore.

Chennai, Apr 12 (ANI): Union Minister of Railways and Coal Piyush Goyal on Friday took a pot shot at Congress party on Tamil Nadu's water issues. He said that Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is committed to setup an authority which will implement the interlinking of rivers in the state. Slamming the opposition party, Railways Minister said that no work had been done in 10 years from 2004-2014 in Congress and DMK were in power. Karnal (Haryana), Apr 12 (ANI): Angry over the death of an ITI student who was rammed by a roadways bus here on Thursday, scores of his fellow students on Friday staged a protest that turned violent. As per reports, a section of students blocked the highway and did not allow the police to take the body for postmortem. While the protesting students pelted stones on the police, the cops resorted to lathi charge and fired tear gas shells to disperse the crowd. Both, police as well as students were injured. Superintendent of Police (SP) Surender Bhoria said, "Yesterday a student had died in an accident in Karnal. Students gathered today to protest over his death. But there were some mischievous elements that provoked students to jam roads and spread lawlessness. Several police personnel injured in the incident."
