Samjhauta blast case: 'They were never guilty,' says Sadhvi Pragya on acquittal of all four accused

Bhopal (MP), Mar 20 (ANI): Soon after all four accused in the 2007 Samjhauta blast case were acquitted by a special National Investigation Agency (NIA) court in Panchkula, Sadhvi Pragya Singh Thakur said that the accused were never guilty and hence they have been acquitted. Thakur said, "It was a conspiracy of the Congress government and their acquittal by the court has proved that a true patriot never does such terror activity in his own country, they know to live and die for their country." The court has acquitted all four accused - Swami Aseemanand, Lokesh Sharma, Kamal Chauhan and Rajinder Chaudhary in the 2007 Samjhauta Express blast case.

BJP holds discussion on LS seats in UP, WB at CEC meeting

New Delhi, Mar 20 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi along with Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Amit Shah held a Central Election Committee (CEC) meeting at the party's headquarters on Wednesday. UP CM Yogi Adityanath, UP Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya, UP BJP chief Mahendra Nath Pandey, EAM Sushma Swaraj and other prominent leaders were present during the meeting. Discussions were held on seats in Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal ahead of the upcoming Lok Sabha polls which will kick start form April 11.

Samjhauta blast: NIA court acquits all four accused in case

Panchkula (Haryana), Mar 20 (ANI): A Special National Investigation Agency (NIA) court in Panchkula on Wednesday acquitted all four accused - Swami Aseemanand, Lokesh Sharma, Kamal Chauhan and Rajinder Chaudhary in the 2007 Samjhauta Express blast case. On February 18, 2007, an explosion had occurred in Samjhauta Express in Haryana's Panipat district, claiming lives of around 68 people. Most of the victims were reportedly Pakistanis but also included some Indians. Out of the deceased, 33 male, 19 female and over 16 were children.

Mumbai artist creates giant replica of Pakistan's F-16 to burn in Holika Dahan

Mumbai, Mar 20 (ANI): An artist from Mumbai has created a giant replica of Pakistan's F-16 plane which was shot down by IAF's Wing Commander Abhinandan during aerial skirmish with the India last month. The replica will be burned in Holika Dahan today. Sumit Pednekar, who made the replica, told ANI that it took around 10 days to completely make the F-16 replica from waste bamboo.

NMCG launches drive to clean Yamuna Ghat in Delhi

New Delhi, Mar 20 (ANI): The National Mission for Clean Ganga (NMCG) launched a drive to clean ghats of Yamuna River in New Delhi. It aims to increase public awareness and increase people's participation to rejuvenate the river. Volunteers and members of Delhi Jal Board and NMCG took the initiative to clean the Ghats. These efforts by NMCG are paying dividends as public participation is increasing day by day. The move has come in a bid to control the pollution-levels in the river Yamuna. These projects are being anchored by the NMCG as part of the Namami Gange programme. The Yamuna river flows through New Delhi can be often seen covered under thick, detergent-like foam. LS polls: Sumalatha files nomination for Karnataka's Mandya seat as independent

Jammu, Mar 20 (ANI): Speaking on the arrest of fugitive diamantaire Nirav Modi in London, Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad slammed the ruling BJP party claiming that Nirav Modi is being brought back ahead of the elections and they will send him back after elections. Azad said, "Such a big merchant flees from the country, is it possible without the permission of the government. They (BJP) had only helped him flee the country, now they are bringing him back.
