LS polls: WCD dept organises women's two-wheeler voter awareness rally

Raipur (Chhattisgarh), Mar 20 (ANI): Women and Child Development department organised women's two-wheeler rally for voter awareness under Systematic Voters' Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) programme in Raipur, Chhattisgarh. The objective of rally was to bring awareness among voters ahead of Lok Sabha polls. The Commissioner of Raipur, Govind Ram Churendra said, "Through SVEEP voter awareness programme for Lok Sabha polls, which is scheduled to take place on April 19 here, we want maximum people to participate in it."

Rajouri's Pir Panjal Range receives heavy snowfall

People celebrate Holi at Bankey Bihari Temple in Vrindavan

Vrindavan (UP), Mar 20 (ANI): People of Vrindavan celebrated festival of colours in full swing at Bankey Bihari Temple on the auspicious day of Holika Dahan or Choti Holi. They gathered at the temple, which is dedicated to Lord Krishna. They played with different colours with each other and celebrated day one of the festival. The happiness and enthusiasm of devotees can be seen clearly. Today marks the Holika Dahan, also called Chhoti Holi. Holy pyres are burnt on streets, signifying the victory of good over evil. People perform 'parikrama' around the fire. The legend of Prahlad, Holika and Hiranyakashyap is associated with it.

Locals of Prayagraj take out a hammer procession. This is very old tradition in which hammer is decorated like a groom. Former Congress minister DK Aruna joins BJP in Delhi

New Delhi, Mar 20 (ANI): Former Telangana Minister and Congress leader DK Aruna joined Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the presence of ruling party's president, Amit Shah on Tuesday in Delhi. Dharwad building collapse: 2 dead, rescue operation to continue at night, says Deputy Commissioner

Dharwad (Karnataka), Mar 20 (ANI): Around two people have died and many are feared trapped after an under-construction building at Karnataka's Dharwad district collapsed on Tuesday. The collapse took place in Dharwad's Kumareshwar Nagar area. Speaking to ANI on building collapse, Deputy Commissioner of Dharwad district Deepa Cholan said, "Two people are dead, 28 people rescued and receiving treatment at Civil Hospital. National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) team has reached the site of building collapse. Oxygen and water given to seven people buried in debris. Rescue operation to continue at night."
