Kalaburagi (Karnataka), Feb 20 (ANI): After former chief minister Siddaramaiah refused for donation of Ram Temple, Karnataka Minister KS Eshwarappa said 'one Siddaramaiah is enough to destroy Congress party.' "One Siddaramaiah is enough to destroy Congress party. Similarly, HD Kumaraswamy is destroying his party. Even the poor are giving Rs 10 each (for Ram temple) out of devotion. Siddaramaiah says that it's disputed land, so he won't contribute," said Karnataka Minister KS Eshwarappa. He added, "PFI tells people to not contribute (for Ram Temple) as it's disputed land, Siddaramaiah says the same. They have the same opinion. Agartala-Akhaura Border, Feb 20 (ANI): Beating retreat ceremony at the India-Bangladesh (Agartala-Akhaura) border resumed after 10 months on February 18. Amid the COVID-19 scare, only the Border Security Force (BSF) soldiers and their families were allowed to witness the ceremonial Beating Retreat ceremony at the Agartala-Akhaura border. An elaborate ritual of lowering of the national flags of both the countries was observed just before the sunset. Musical band was also performed by the Border Security Forces.

'Will make electric vehicles mandatory for officials of my department': Nitin Gadkari

New Delhi, Feb 20 (ANI): Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari on February 19 during the launch event of 'Go Electric' campaign in Delhi informed that he will make electric vehicles mandatory for officials of his department. "If 10,000 electric vehicles are brought into use in Delhi, then about Rs 30 crore per month spent on fuel can be saved and it will reduce pollution. Baba Ramdev launches Patanjali's 'evidence-based' medicine for COVID-19

New Delhi, Feb 19 (ANI): Yog Guru Ramdev on February 19 launched the "first evidence-based medicine for COVID-19 by Patanjali". During the event which saw presence of Union Health Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan and Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, the Yog Guru also released scientific research paper on 'the first evidence-based medicine for COVID-19 by Patanjali'. Last year in June, Patanjali had launched 'Coronil and Swasari', Ayurvedic cure for treating COVID-19. They claimed the medicine showed 100 per cent favourable results during clinical trials on affected patients. During the launch of the research paper which aims to back Patanjali's solution against COVID-19, Ramdev said many people had raised doubts when Coronil was launched last year and questioned whether Patanjali followed all scientific parameters before coming up with the medicines. "We have cleared all doubts today," Ramdev said at the event.

Post COVID-19, Ayurveda economy risen 50-90%: Harsh Vardhan

New Delhi, Feb 19 (ANI): As Yog Guru Baba Ramdev launched "first evidence-based medicine for COVID-19 by Patanjali", Health Minister of India Dr Harsh Vardhan, who was present at the event, applauded traditional medicinal system, saying growth rate of Ayurveda’s economy post-COVID rose to 50-90%. "Ayurveda has Rs 30,000 crore economy in India. As per official data, it used to see a growth of 15-20% every year pre-COVID. Post-COVID, this growth rate has risen to 50-90%. It's an indication that people have accepted it. There's marked improvement in exports and FDI," said the Union Health Minister.

NASA confirms Perseverance rover's safe landing on Mars

New Delhi, Feb 19 (ANI): American space agency, National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) announced that its Perseverance rover has landed on Mars. "Perseverance rover has safely landed on Mars," NASA said in a tweet. Perseverance, which was launched on July 30, 2020, will search for signs of ancient microbial life, collect carefully selected rock and regolith (broken rock and dust) samples for a future return to Earth. It will characterise Mars' geology and climate, and pave the way for human exploration beyond the Moon. This is NASA's fifth Mars rover and agency's ninth mission for the Red planet. The Mars 2020 Perseverance rover is also carrying along a technology experiment - the Ingenuity Mars Helicopter - which will attempt the first powered and controlled flight on another planet.

Petrol price crosses Rs 100-mark in this district of MP

Anuppur (MP), Feb 19 (ANI): After Rajasthan, petrol price crossed Rs 100 per litre mark in Madhya Pradesh's Anuppur district on February 18. Premium petrol which attracts higher taxes, had crossed Rs 100 mark in states like Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra. In MP's Anuppur petrol is priced at Rs 100.25 per litre and diesel at Rs 90.35 per litre. Commuters expressed disappointment after the price hike. Petrol in the national capital costs Rs 89.88 per litre and diesel Rs 80.27 per litre after February 18 price hike. In Mumbai, petrol price rose to Rs 96.32 per litre and diesel was priced at Rs 87.32 per litre.

Unnao girls' death case: Prima facie shows symptoms of poisoning, says Lucknow IG

Unnao (UP), Feb 18 (ANI): IG Range Lucknow, Laxmi Singh said that prima facie showed there are symptoms of poisoning in the Unnao case where two girls were found dead at the agriculture field. "We have registered FIR on basis of whatever was told by the family of victims. They told that a lot of froth was found at the spot and then they were taken to the hospital. Prima facie showed there are symptoms of poisoning. No injury mark or assault signs were shown at the bodies. Further matter will be cleared post forensic report," said IG Laxmi Singh. Two girls of the same family were found dead in their agriculture field in Uttar Pradesh's Unnao district while one other is in critical condition. The incident occurred on evening of February 17. The girl who was found in critical condition has been hospitalised for medical treatment.

Over 98 lakh beneficiaries vaccinated against COVID till Feb 18

New Delhi, Feb 18 (ANI): "98,46,523 beneficiaries have been vaccinated till 6pm on February 18," informs Union Health Ministry Joint Secretary Mandeep Singh Bhandari. Of the total, over 66 lakh healthcare workers have been given the vaccine shot. "62,34,635 healthcare workers have been given the first dose while 4,64,932 healthcare workers have been given the second dose. Vaccination drive for frontline workers which started from February 02 has so far vaccinated 31,46,956 beneficiaries," informed Joint Secretary Mandeep Singh Bhandari. Health Ministry further informed that in the last 24 hours, two new events of hospitalisation have been reported in West Bengal, of which one case of convulsions while the second case is of anaphylaxis. "Condition of both patients is stable," Ministry added.
