North 24 Parganas (WB), Nov 25 (ANI): Troops of Border Security Force (BSF) of South Bengal Frontier rescued scarlet birds. These were being smuggled from Bangladesh to India. The scarlet birds were being smuggled by smugglers through the location of Border Out Post Tetulberia.

Cyclone Nivar: Over 1 lakh people evacuated across Tamil Nadu

New Delhi, Nov 25 (ANI): Updating about the situation of Cyclone Nivar, NDRF Director-General, SN Pradhan informed that over one lakh people have been evacuated across Tamil Nadu. "Cyclone Nivar may make landfall around 2 am- 3 am on November 26. Over one lakh people have been evacuated across Tamil Nadu and more than 1,000 people have been evacuated in Puducherry," said SN Pradhan.

Traction Substation installed in Khurja-Bhaupur Section of Easter Dedicated Freight Corridor

Biruni (Uttar Pradesh) November 25 (ANI): India's first Traction Substation (TSS) of 2x25 KV system has been installed at Biruni in Khurja-Bhaupur Section of Eastern Dedicated Freight Corridor (EDFC). Traction Substation is an electrical substation where power supply from 132 KV/220 KV is converted to 2x 25 KV. This 2x25 KV is fed to Over Head Equipment (OHE) for running the trains. Total 55 TSS are planned along the entire length of the Dedicated Freight Corridor (DFC). The Western Dedicated Freight Corridor (from Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust in Mumbai to Dadri) will have 25 TSS and Eastern Dedicated Freight Corridor (from Ludhiana to Son Nagar) will have 30 TSS. The Over Head Equipment (OHE) in WDFC is of 7.4 meter height and in EDFC it is 5.8 meter in contrast to the existing Indian Railways (IR) OHE of 5.5 meter. This will facilitate double stack container movement on flat wagons in WDFC. DFC has a provision of 2 x 25 KV OHE to undertake higher haulage at greater speeds while India

India's first High speed Crossover introduced by DFCCIL

Tundla (Uttar Pradesh) November 25 (ANI): First time in the history of Indian Railways, High speed turnout, on which trains can move at the speed of 55 kmph, has been introduced by Dedicated Freight Corridor Corporation of India Limited (DFCCIL). When a train moves from Main Line to Loop line, it has to negotiate a crossover. For this purpose, turnouts/crossovers are laid. Trains used to slow down to negotiate crossovers and turnouts. In Indian Railways, the speed of trains on crossovers is generally 15 kmph and on some of the routes it is 30 kmph. However on DFCCIL, these crossovers are fit for a designed speed of 55 kmph. The total number of turnouts on DFCCIL is 1500. DFCCIL is committed for targeted commissioning of the section and till date 500 km stretch are being used by running trains. By March 2021, it will increase to 992 km. Remaining all 1700 km route, i.e. 60% project will be completed by June 2022.

'Dilli Chalo' protest: 'Will sleep in trolleys, carrying month's ration', says protestor

Ludhiana (Punjab)/ Kurukshetra (Haryana), Nov 25 (ANI): Farmer groups are heading towards Delhi to protest against amended farm laws on November 25. Group of farmers reached Ludhiana's Ladhowal Toll Plaza. "We're against recent farm laws. Our slogan is 'ghera dalo, dera dalo' which is what we'll do in Delhi. We've water tankers, will sleep in trolleys, also carrying a month's ration," said a protestor. Meanwhile, Police used water cannon to disperse farmers who have gathered in Kurukshetra to proceed to Delhi to stage a demonstration.

Though Delhi High Court has awarded the death penalty to the accused, the matter is pending in Supreme Court. Her family is still in deep shock." Cyclone Nivar: 'We go for zero casualty approach', says NDRF DG

Mahabalipuram (TN) / New Delhi, Nov 25 (ANI):National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) Director General SN Pradhan spoke on force's approach to manage effects of severe cyclonic storm 'Nivar' likely to make a landfall in southern states of India in wee hours of November 25. He said that they'll go with "zero casualty approach." "This cyclone Nivar is the first cyclone of this season. Nivar cyclone has built up in last 24-48 hours. Cyclone Nivar is categorised as 'very severe' as per IMD. In any case, we should go for zero casualty approach that should be our focus. So, when we have no loss of life, we should move on property and keep the system running. There are 19 teams of NDRF in Tamil Nadu, 6 in Puducherry and 7 teams in Andhra Pradesh. We have to be proactive, not only before the cyclone but during and after the cyclone too."
