Leh (Ladakh), Oct 22 (ANI): LAHDC, Leh Deputy Commissioner Sachin Kumar Vaishya informed about the 6th Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council (LAHDC) election 2020 which was held today (Oct 22). He said that the voter turnout was nearly 65 percent. He also informed that out of 294 polling stations, 57 polling stations were handled by women polling staff completely and 38 polling stations had 75 per cent of women polling staff. People who are above 65 years, COVID-19 patients and specially-abled persons were provided special postal ballet facility. EVMs were used for the first time in Leh council polls.

The Maharashtra government on Wednesday issued on order withdrawing consent accorded to the members of the Delhi Special Police Establishment to exercise the powers and jurisdiction under an act in the state. According to reports, the move implies that the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) will not have general consent, accorded by the Maharashtra government by an order on February 22, 1989, to exercise its powers and jurisdiction in the state and will have to get the state governments permission to probe any matter.
