Thiruvananthapuram (Kerala), Apr 05 (ANI): Under the Kerala State Co-operatives Consumers' Federation Ltd (Consumerfed), Triveni Super Market has launched 12 mobile supermarkets on wheels to deliver essential commodities amid coronavirus lockdown. The market has also started home delivery of essential items. There are total 357 confirmed cases of coronavirus in Kerala including two deaths and 49 cured. According to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the total number of COVID-19 active cases rose to 3030 in India and 77 deaths.

COVID-19: Pune based start-up develops sanitization unit to disinfect surface area

Pune (Maharashtra), Apr 05 (ANI): A start-up based in Maharashtra's Pune developed a sanitization unit to disinfect surface area. PadCare Labs developed a sanitization unit with a view to fight with coronavirus pandemic. The sanitization unit can disinfect 80 sq ft area by 99.99 percentbacterial reduction in just 15 minutes. While speaking to ANI, entrepreneur, Ajinkya Dhariya said, "This sanitization unit works on the principle of UV mechanism. This sanitization unit can disinfect 80 sq ft area by 99.99 percentbacterial reduction in just 15 minutes of timeline. Within next week we will be installing these sanitization units at a local hospital." There are total 556 confirmed cases of coronavirus in Maharashtra including 24 deaths and 42 cured. According to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the total number of COVID-19 active cases rose to 3030 in India and 77 deaths.

COVID 19: Daily wage painter puts up 'Help Us' poster outside his house

Panchkula (Haryana), Apr 05 (ANI): Pawan Kumar, a daily wage painter has put up a 'Help Us' poster outside his house on Chandigarh-Panchkula road. The daily wage worker said, "Due to lockdown, I have got no work now. It's difficult to even buy food as I don't have any money left." He urged government to help, so that he can feed his children. The nationwide lockdown situation worsen the lives of daily wage workers, however, state governments and welfare organizations are trying their best to provide food to needy but many of them are still surviving for '2-time meal'.

COVID-19: Kerala tested more than 8,000 samples so far, says State Health Minister

Thiruvananthapuram (Kerala), Apr 05 (ANI): While speaking to ANI in Thiruvananthapuram on April 05, the Health Minister of Kerala, KK Shailaja said, "PCR test is going on in nine laboratories. We have tested more than 8,000 samples so far." "We want to implement rapid test in Kerala. Yesterday (on April 04), we got 2,000 kits," she added. COVID-19: Doda Administration seizes vehicles violating lockdown guidelines

Doda (J-K), Apr 05 (ANI): Strict action has been taken by the District Administration of J-K in Doda amid coronavirus pandemic. They took strict action against government servants who were found misusing the lockdown passes issued by the administration. Several vehicles were seized and District Development Commissioner (DDC) Doda Dr Sagar D Doifode cancelled the passes which were issued to public servants. The administration has initiated strict disciplinary action against them. While speaking to ANI, DDC of Doda Dr Sagar D Doifode said, "Curfew passes of three govt employees were cancelled for misusing the passes during coronavirus lockdown in Doda. Guwahati Police deploy drone cameras to monitor situation amid coronavirus pandemic

COVID19: IIT Kanpur to manufacture cost- efficient antiviral coating masks

Kanpur (Uttar Pradesh), Apr 05 (ANI): Several researches are going on to curb coronavirus pandemic, which have killed 56, 985 people globally so far. Indian Institutes of Technology (IIT) Kanpur has also joined the fight against the coronavirus. Researchers are working on cost- efficient special antiviral coating masks, which may replace N95 masks whose price shoot upto Rs 500 in recent days. Researcher at IIT Kanpur, Professor Ramkumar said, "We developed an alternative material for N95 masks, and we are making it manually as we don't have access to automatic machines due to nationwide lockdown. By next 2-3 days, we will start manufacturing of the masks." The N95 masks filters at least 95 percent of airborne particles. It is said that healthcare workers who are expected to perform patient activities with those suspected or confirmed to be infected with COVID-19 to wear respiratory protection, such as an N95 respirator.
