Pankaj Srivastava, Circle Officer said, "These people gathered at a mosque in Bannadevi to offer Namaz. Police reached there and tried to explain them. But they pelted stones at Police."
Chandigarh, Apr 03 (ANI): An assistant professor, Dr. Rajiv Chauhan and his team of anaesthesiology department in PGIMER Chandigarh has come up with an affordable artificial manual breathing unit (AMBU) operating device, which could help in fighting COVID-19 pandemic. Dr Chauhan said, "Due to shortage of ventilators, most patients in hospitals often have to rely on the manually operated AMBU bags for artificial ventilation. These manual AMBU bags provide a short-term alternative in this hour when manually operating the AMBU bags is not possible so with this invention we can use this device for COVID-19 patients as well."
New Delhi, Apr 03 (ANI): Facebook announced today a dedicated Messenger app for desktop to help users connect easily via group video calls and chats. The app for MacOS and Windows brings Messenger's functionalities to the comfort of the desktop with unlimited and free group video calls, dark mode, and GIF support, the official blog notes. It is available for download on the Microsoft Store or Mac App Store. The dedicated desktop app takes directly on Zoom, the enterprise video conferencing platform that ballooned overnight during the COVID-19 crisis, compelling those working or studying from home to use its service for video calls.

Ghaziabad (UP), Apr 03 (ANI): Uttar Pradesh Police at MMG hospital conducted investigations into the allegations that persons from Tablighi Jamaat who are in quarantine at the hospital were walking around the ward without their trousers on and making lewd gestures towards the nurses. "A complaint was received from the CMO that the nurses of MMG hospital have alleged that 6 coronavirus patients admitted at the hospital's isolation ward are misbehaving with them. We are at the spot for investigation of the matter," said ASP City.
Ghaziabad (UP), Apr 03 (ANI): Ghaziabad SSP informed that an FIR has been registered against persons from Tablighi Jamaat who are in quarantine at MMG District Hospital. "An FIR has been registered on a complaint that patients admitted at hospital's (MMG District Hospital) isolation ward were misbehaving with hospital staff. It has been directed to ensure fair investigation in the matter," said Kalanidhi Naithani, SSP Ghaziabad.

New Delhi, Apr 02 (ANI): Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Thursday announced that Rs 5000 each will be transferred into the accounts of auto, taxi, e-rickshaw, RTV and Gramin Sewa drivers and all those plying public service vehicles. "Out of 2346 people brought from Markaz Nizamuddin, 1810 persons quarantined and 536 people admitted to city hospitals, tests of all 2346 persons are being done. Due to this, it is possible that the number of COVID19 cases in the city might rise in coming days," he further added.
New Delhi, Apr 02 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on April 02 conveyed message via video-conferencing to the Chief Ministers on COVID-19 situation in the country. According to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the total number of COVID-19 active cases rose to 1764 in India and 50 deaths.

New Delhi, Apr 02 (ANI): Dr JC Passey, Medical Director of LNJPN Hospital, where 188 people coronavirus patients linked with Tablighi Jamaat event in Nizamuddin Markaz are admitted, said that many of the patients are objecting to testing saying they 'don't need admission', and has thus put the security staff at risk. "We've 216 COVID19 patients out of which 188 belong to one group (attendees of Tablighi Jamaat event). We had received reports of 24 patients from the group out of which 23 tested positive. This is alarming," Dr Passey told ANI.

New Delhi, Apr 02 (ANI): Joint Secretary in Union Health Ministry Lav Agarwal on April 2 reacted on reports of Delhi's Hindu Rao Hospital doctors resigning over demand for personal protection equipment. He said that government has placed orders for more than 1.5 crore personal protective equipments (PPEs) and supply has started. "PPEs also been sent to the states, also placed orders for more than 1 Cr N95 masks," he added.

Latur (Maharashtra), Apr 02 (ANI): Maharashtra Police punished morning walkers for violating lockdown norms in the wake of pandemic coronavirus. The police also registered case against 120 persons who came out for morning walk. The police made them take oath of not violating the rule in future. There are total 390 confirmed cases of coronavirus in Maharashtra including thirteen deaths and 42 cured patients. According to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the total number of COVID-19 active cases rose to 1764 in India and 50 deaths.
Bengaluru, Apr 02 (ANI): While speaking to ANI in Bengaluru on April 02, the Health and Family Welfare Minister of Karnataka, B Sriramulu said, "We are monitoring 362 people who had attended Nizamuddin Markaz in Delhi. Out of 27 people from Bidar who had attended the event, 11 have tested positive for COVID-19, while results of 16 others are awaited." There are total 122 confirmed cases of coronavirus in Karnataka including three deaths and nine cured patients.
