New Delhi, Mar 29 (ANI): Several churches in the national capital have announced that Sunday masses will be live-streamed and will be telecasted on local television channels, as all religious places are closed amid coronavirus lockdown. Sacred Heart Cathedral Church has been closed in Delhi due to COVID-19. There are total 39 positive cases of coronavirus in Delhi. As per the Union Health Ministry, the total number of coronavirus cases in the country rose to 979 (including 86 cured/discharged and 25 deaths).

One of the wholesalers from Delhi's Gazipur Sabji Mandi said, "We have vegetables in market but people are not coming here to buy it, the rates are also going down as many people run to their hometowns from the national capital." On the other side, the vegetable market got affected by 80 percent as many labourers had to leave their jobs.

Coronavirus: FIR filed against ceasefire company owner for negligence, says GautamBuddha Nagar DM

Noida (Uttar Pradesh), Mar 29 (ANI): While speaking to ANI in Uttar Pradesh's Noida on March 29, the District Magistrate of GautamBuddha Nagar, BN Singh spoke on coronavirus. He said, "The owner and other members of Noida's ceasefire company came back from some foreign country couple of days back but they didn't informed us and laterwards the owner was identified as coronavirus positive. They must have informed us and put himself in quarantine facility but unfortunately he failed to do so." "As per the rule we are filing FIR against the ceasefire company," DM added. As per the information, instructions were given that in GautamBuddha Nagar district, salaries under certain circumstances must be paid to the labourers or employees during the coronavirus lockdown. Else law will take its own course under the National Disaster Management Act 2005. COVID-19 positive persons or possibly infected persons who are in isolation will be given 28-day paid leave, after they produce medical certificat

COVID-19 outbreak: Volunteer group 'United Kathua' to help needy amid India lockdown

Kathua (J-K), Mar 29 (ANI): In order to fight against COVID-19 outbreak, repeated requests have been made to people for staying indoors. Domestic helpers are struggling to meet ends as they can no longer work due to lockdown. "We can no longer work due to COVID-19 outbreak, we are now also facing shortage of money due to this," said a domestic worker. "I have four kids, how will I pay rent, electricity bill, we are somehow surviving," said another domestic helper. They also said that their employers are not paying them salary, adding to their woes.

Cancer patients, their relatives stranded on Mumbai streets following lockdown

Mumbai (Maharashtra), Mar 29 (ANI): Cancer patients from different states who came to Mumbai for treatment at hospitals are stranded, along with their relatives amid coronavirus lockdown. One of the cancer patients, Rajith, said, "I'm from Jharkhand and had booked tickets for 23rd March, but everything closed down". He further added, "There are around 200 people like us who are stranded here. We cannot afford to pay rents nor can we go homes due to lack of transport. WHO informed that coronavirus is mainly transmitted through droplets generated when an infected person coughs, sneezes or speaks. The droplets of virus are too heavy to hang in air. They quickly fall on floors or surfaces. A person can be infected by virus if he is within 1 metre of an infected person, or by touching a contaminated surface and then touching eyes, nose or mouth before washing hands.
