Chennai, Mar 27 (ANI): A massive fire broke out at SIPCOT campus in Tamil Nadu on March 27. More than 50 fire-fighters are present at the spot to douse the flames. The reason behind the fire is yet to ascertain. Further details are awaited.
New Delhi, Mar 27 (ANI): Hundreds of people were seen walking on foot toward their homes in different districts of Uttar Pradesh, at Ghazipur near Delhi-UP border in absence of transport services due to coronavirus lockdown. A similar crowd was witnessed near Anand Vihar area. The migrant labourers are worst affected social section due to COVID-19. A migrant said, "All these people are going to their native village. These are all daily wagers who have no food supply. Our home is around 400 km away." Another migrant added, "We are coming from Raghubir nagar, Rajouri Garden. PM Modi has asked for lockdown, but should we die of hunger. There is no arrangement for us, what should we do? Government is making arrangement on roads, but who knows about us? Out native village is in Badaun (Uttar Pradesh), we will walk there." Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has requested migrants labourers to return to Delhi and has assured them food supply.
Lucknow (UP), Mar 27 (ANI): Uttar Pradesh government has set up the control room at UP Bhawan to listen to the grievances of people stranded in different states amid national lockdown due to coronavirus. Officer In-Charge (Arrangements) at UP Bhawan, Rajesh Choubey said, "As per the guidelines of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, we have set up the control room for people stranded in different states amid lockdown due to coronavirus. We are trying to help and listen to the grievances of people. We have asked them to stay wherever they are for now and we will take action as soon as we get any guidelines from the government".
Bengaluru, Mar 27 (ANI): A Bengaluru based oncologist is hopeful of finding potion that could be useful in treating COVID-19 patients. Dr. Vishal Rao said, "Human body cells release interferon chemical to kill viruses. But it can't be released by cells in the case of COVID-19 cases, leading to weak immune system. We got hold of some preprint suggesting that interferon is effective in COVID-19." He further added, "When we withdraw blood for regular check-ups, we get buffy coat which can be used to take out cells and form interferon. These two chemicals and some other cytokines, in a specific concoction, could be potentially very useful in treating COVID-19 patients. We have built a concoction of cytokines which can be injected to reactivate immune system in COVID-19 patients. We're in a very initial stage and hope to be ready with its first set by this weekend. We have applied to the govt for an expedited review."
Chennai, Mar 27 (ANI): Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami visited 500-bedded special COVID-19 ward at Government Medical College Hospital at Omandurar in Chennai. CM Palaniswami interacted with doctors and other medical staff at the hospital. The hospital has isolation, step down wards and ventilators.

New Delhi, Mar 27 (ANI): British Prime Minister Boris Johnson said on March 27 that he has tested positive for the dreadful COVID-19 virus, but remains in charge of the UK's response to the outbreak. His office asserted that Johnson was tested on the advice of the chief medical officer after showing mild symptoms. The British Prime Minister is self-isolating at his 10 Downing St. residence and continuing to lead the country's response to COVID-19. He also shared a video in which he said that he had a temperature and a persistent cough.
New Delhi, Mar 27(ANI): Union Health Ministry, Lav Agarwal confirmed the formation of task force to assure that no logistic issues are faced. He said that we have given an order to a PSU to provide 10,000 ventilators. "Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) has also been requested to purchase 30,000 additional ventilators in 1-2 months," said the Joint Secretary. The Health Ministry has also issued national telemedicine guidelines. Lav Agarwal said, "This facilitates the process wherein doctors sitting at their homes can provide services to the patients. We urge and request citizens to take advantage of it and doctors to utilize this."

They are daily wagers, who earn and feed themselves on daily basis. The main source of rickshaw pullers in Delhi is the people who commute from metro but due to the lockdown their earning has stopped. However, Delhi government is providing food in different places but the facility is not reachable to many daily wagers. There are 39 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Delhi.
New Delhi, March 27 (ANI): Stranded foreign nationals in India are facing difficulties after country went under nationwide lockdown. Russian Nationals received help from their embassy as the coronavirus mayhem hit the country. The embassy provided food and shelter to these Russians. A Russian national told ANI, "Only embassy was aware about the situation. They helped us. They took us and care about us. We don't have any place to stay in Delhi. Only embassy can help us." Another Russian national shared that his condition was good as the Russian embassy was taking care of them. He informed that they don't have any difficulty and they're only waiting for a flight to home in Russia. Several foreign countries are carrying out special missions to evacuate their citizens from India after the country went under 21-days nationwide lockdown.
New Delhi, Mar 27(ANI): Amid 21 days lockdown in the country, the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee is preparing itself to distribute food for the destitute. Considering the fact that the lockdown will directly affect the poor section of the society, who are daily wage workers, the DSGMC has set up two food shelters to prepare food for almost 1,000 people. Not only is that it also providing shelters to the needy.

He said, "The situation in Delhi is getting normal and is in control. Coronavirus is not spreading in Delhi and we hope that it will not spread. We are making preparation by learning from other countries. We have made preparations based on the report provided by a team of 5 doctors. We are ready to tackle as many as 1000 new cases of coronavirus per day." He also informed that the government has made arrangements of testing kits, ambulances, ICU beds and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Muzaffarabad (PoK), Mar 27 (ANI): Fearing an outbreak of COVID-19 in Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK) and Gilgit Baltistan, the local authorities and residents have demanded strict restrictions for any traffic movement from Pakistan into the region. Demands have been raised after seeing the rising number of positive Coronavirus cases in all provinces of Pakistan and attempts by Pakistan Army to bring them at quarantine centres set up in PoK and Gilgit Baltistan. Sources reveal that hundreds of people got stuck at Kohala border of PoK and Punjab on Thursday after the restrictions imposed by the local authorities. In a letter written to Commissioner, Mirpur division, the locals have raised the issue of Coronavirus positive patients from Gujrat and Jhelum cities of Punjab province to be brought into PoK. Recently, there were massive protests by locals in Mirpur city of PoK after the Pakistan Army start occupying plazas (mansions) and private hospitals to convert them into Quarantine centr
New Delhi, Mar 27 (ANI): South Delhi administration is coming forward to aid citizens as the nation fights against coronavirus pandemic. They are distributing food among needy and teaching them about preventive measures against COVID-19. Speaking to ANI, South Delhi ADM informed, "In South Delhi, we have identified around 48 locations where affected people reside. We are providing them packaged food. We are distributing around 15-20 thousand package food to such people twice a day." He also added, "In the control room, we have 5 landline numbers. Here people can get all sorts of information related to coronavirus and its prevention or treatment. Here we have 3 Whatsapp helpline numbers where people in essential services can contact for e-passes. We are passing e-passes electronically, so they don't need to come manually.
Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh), Mar 27(ANI): Uttar Pradesh CM, Yogi Adityanath urged CMs of Maharashtra, Uttarakhand and Haryana to arrange food and lodging for citizens of UP living in their states. "We will bear the cost of the arrangements," said the CM. UP CM further informed that nodal officers have been appointed to coordinate with governments of 12 states whose people are living in UP.

New Delhi, Mar 27(ANI): South Delhi DM, Brijmohan Mishra assured all citizens of South Delhi that food and basic amenities will be provided to them. He said that we have prepared the database for requirement of food for daily wage earners and we require 11,134 food packets daily for locations in South Delhi. DM said that the state help line 1031 and whatsapp hunger no has been issued, "Whoever is hungry can call and they will be directed to the nearest centers." On e-passes, Brijmohan said that till now, we have issued 1500 e-passes and 200 more e-passes will also be issued in the next few hours. "I request to the public that these passes should be sparingly used, it should not be used as a matter of privilege," DM requested.
