Bodies of all four Nirbhaya convicts taken to DDU hospital for postmortem

New Delhi, Mar 20 (ANI): Bodies of 2012 Delhi gang-rape case convicts brought to Deendayal Upadhyay Hospital for post-mortem on March 20. The postmortem will be done as recommended by the Jail manual and Supreme Court guidelines. After the postmortem, the bodies of the convicts will be handed over to their respective families. The hanging was carried out as per schedule time 5:30 am.

Nirbhaya's parents flashes victory sign after convicts hanged till death

New Delhi, Mar 20 (ANI): Nirbhaya's parents and their lawyer Seema Kushwaha showed victory sign after the convicts were hanged till death on March 20. The execution was schedule at 05:30 am in Tihar jail. Four convicts, namely Pawan Sharma, Akshay Kumar, Mukesh Singh and Vinay Sharma were hanged. They were hanged for raping and brutally assaulting a woman at South Delhi area on December 16, 2012.

People celebrate as Delhi gang-rape convicts hanged to death

New Delhi/ Kanpur (UP), Mar 20 (ANI): 7-year-long wait in Delhi gang-rape case comes to an end on March 20. People in the national capital celebrated as the convicts hanged till death. Locals distributed sweets outside Tihar jail as justice served in Nirbhaya case. People were also seen holding placards written 'Thanks to Judiciary'. Meanwhile, People in Uttar Pradesh's Kanpur celebrated after Nirbhaya's rape convicts hanged. They lit up crackers to celebrate and mark the 'judgement day'. The hanging was carried out as per schedule time 5:30 am.

2012 Delhi gangrape case convicts hanged till death

New Delhi, Mar 20 (ANI): After a long wait of more than 7 years, 2012 Delhi gangrape case convicts hanged till death at 5:30 am on March 20. Four convicts, namely Pawan Sharma, Akshay Kumar, Mukesh Singh and Vinay Sharma were hanged for raping and brutally assaulting a woman at South Delhi area on December 16, 2012. Six people, including four convicts and a juvenile, were named as accused in the heinous crime that happened on the wee hours of December 16, 2012. The woman, known as Nirbhaya died after a fortnight in a hospital in Delhi. Ram Singh, the sixth accused, allegedly committed suicide in the Tihar Jail days after the trial began in the case while the juvenile was released in 2015 after spending three years in a correctional home.

New Delhi, Mar 20 (ANI): Infants who are from a rural family background tend to display negative emotions, such as anger or frustration more frequently than their urban counterparts, suggests a recent study in the Journal of Community Psychology. The study has shown that babies who are born in big cities are less likely to be fussy and are not as bothered by the limits set by their caregivers. The study examines differences in infant temperament, parent-child interactions and parenting stress between families of similar socioeconomic and racial composition in the Inland Northwest and the San Francisco Bay Area. Mothers used a questionnaire to record the frequency of 191 different behaviors their child displayed at 6 and 12 months after birth. The researchers then analyzed babies along 14 different dimensions that ranged from cuddliness to vocal reactivity. COVID-19 outbreak: DMRC to start thermal scanning of passengers

New Delhi, Mar 20 (ANI): Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) issued an advisory in view of COVID-19. The random thermal scanning of passengers will be carried out at all metro stations.Metros will not stop at stations which might be crowded. Delhi Metro authority also asked people to maintain at least 1 metre distance and according to the advisory, no standing passengers will be allowed in metro trains. Delhi metro also urged people to avoid travelling and use metro only if it is necessary.

New Delhi, Mar 20 (ANI): Nirbhaya's mother Asha Devi said that tomorrow will be a golden day for all daughters. Supreme Court dismissed the petition of death row convict Pawan Gupta against rejection of his mercy plea by the President and seeking stay on execution. "I am feeling satisfied today because finally our daughter got justice. Whole country was ashamed of this crime, today the nation got justice. Tomorrow will be a golden day for all daughters," said Nirbhaya's Mother. The execution will happen at 5:30 am on March 20.

New Delhi, Mar 20 (ANI): Delhi High Court dismissed last minute plea by 2012 Delhi gangrape case convicts, seeking stay on execution. The execution will happen at 5:30 am on March 20. Convicts' lawyer AP Singh said, "The four important pillars of this country are against the convicts. I will go to Supreme Court when I get the order copy. I have spoken to Registrar, I will go to him."

Nirbhaya case: SC refuses to consider juvenility claim of death row convict Pawan Gupta

New Delhi, Mar 20 (ANI): In the late night hearing in Nirbhaya case, Supreme Court refused to consider juvenility claim of death row convict Pawan Gupta. The Supreme Court said that they are not inclined to entertain the plea. Later AP Singh said, "I know they will be hanged but can it (execution) be stayed for two- three days to record (convict Pawan's) statement." While appearing for convict Pawan in SC, Nirbhaya convicts' lawyer AP Singh had shown school certificate, school register and attendance register of Pawan claiming he was juvenile at the time of crime. In the reply, Justice Bhushan said that these documents were already filed by him before court. Justice Bhushan further said that AP Singh is raising grounds which have already been argued. The execution is scheduled to happen at 5:30 am on March 20.

I thank the judiciary and government." She further said, "Our daughter is no more and won't return. We started this fight after she left us, this struggle was for her but we will continue this fight in future for our daughters. I hugged my daughter's picture and said 'finally you got justice'."
