New Delhi, Mar 14 (ANI): The 39th GST Council meeting held in Delhi on March 14. Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman chaired the meeting at Vigyan Bhawan. GST Council discussed operational glitches on the GST Network portal. They also discussed different ways to increase revenue collection and to avoid tax evasion.

Mumbai, Mar 14 (ANI): Speaking on preventive measures against coronavirus, Chairman of Shree Siddhivinayak Temple Trust, Aadesh Chandrakant Bandekar said, "It is important to take precautionary measures. Every devotee is being provided with hand sanitizer while entering the temple premises. The temple floors and hand railings are being cleaned and sanitized frequently. We have also arranged masks for the workers here. I feel that it is important to take self precautionary measures to safeguard themselves." Malappuram (Kerala), Mar 14 (ANI): Specially trained squads began culling of birds and hens amid bird flu scare in Kerala's Malappuram. The team also conducted disinfecting operations in the area. Kerala government is continuously taking precautionary measures to restrict the spread of bird flu in the area. Recently, two avian influenza incidents were reported in Kerala.
Ghaziabad (Uttar Pradesh), Mar 14 (ANI): Two more positive cases of coronavirus confirmed in Uttar Pradesh's Ghaziabad by Health Department. Patients with travel history to Iran tested positive for COVID-19 at a colony in Raj Nagar extension. As per containment plan advised by Government of India, disinfection is underway of a residential colony in Raj Nagar extension and surrounding area of up to 5 kms, to prevent the virus from spreading. In India, a total of 82 positive cases have been registered so far. 2 deaths have been confirmed in India, one from Karnataka and the other from Delhi.
New Delhi, Mar 14 (ANI): The excise duty on both petrol and diesel increased by Rs 3 per litre on March 14 after the international oil prices declined. The special excise duty on petrol was hiked by Rs 2 to Rs 8 per litre in case of petrol and in case of diesel, it increased to Rs 4. One of the consumers said, "We all know that international oil prices are falling. Earlier, when oil prices rose, government also hiked it so why we are not getting any benefit when the prices are now declined."

New Delhi, Mar 14 (ANI): India reported its second death due to coronavirus. A 68-year-old woman suffering from the disease died in Ram Manohar Lal hospital in Delhi. Few days ago, first death was reported from Karnataka. Indian govt has taken various precautionary measures to further restrict the spread of disease. Existing visas have been suspended till April 15, primary schools have been closed and nationwide-theatres have also been shut.
Mumbai, Mar 14 (ANI): At least three people died after a speeding car rammed into a divider in Mumbai's Worli. One person received injuries area in the incident. Police said, "The woman who was driving the car has been admitted in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of a hospital and she is serious. Further investigation is underway."

New Delhi, Mar 14 (ANI): Among adults at high risk of liver cancer, those who took low-dose aspirin were less likely to develop the disease or to die from liver-related causes. The findings come from an analysis published in the New England Journal of Medicine and conducted by a team led by investigators at the Karolinska Institutet, in Sweden, and Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH). For the analysis, investigators examined information from Swedish registries on 50,275 adults who had chronic viral hepatitis, a type of liver infection that is caused by the hepatitis B or C virus and is the most common risk factor for liver cancer. Over a median follow-up of nearly 8 years, 4.0% of patients who took low-dose aspirin (less than 163mg/day) and 8.3% of nonusers of aspirin developed liver cancer. Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh), Mar 14 (ANI): After Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Jyotiraditya Scindia was shown black flag in Bhopal, Former Madhya Pradesh chief minister and BJP leader Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that the law and order situation has completely collapsed in state. Chouhan said, "Law and order have collapsed in the State. There was an attempt to attack him by stopping his car and throwing stones at it. New Delhi, Mar 14 (ANI): Formula E organising body has officially announced that the motor sport's 2019/20 season has been temporarily suspended in light of the current COVID-19 pandemic concerns.The season has been suspended for a two-month period. On the official website, the body explained that it is implementing a flag system to determine phases and times windows for the races. As of now, March and April are marked with red flags with no races to be hosted as previously planned while May is categorised with a yellow flag - keeping the opportunity open. June and July are given the green flag - indicative of going ahead as planned.

Amid the tension prevailing in the country, the Health Ministry warned the sellers who are selling masks at higher prices. Lav Agarwal, Joint Secretary, Health Ministry said, "If masks are sold at exorbitant prices then States can take action as per law. If need be we will take drastic action on abnormal increase in price of masks."

New Delhi, Mar 13(ANI): Rubina Ali, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Civil Aviation informed that Air India flight would be taking off to Milan (Italy) to bring back Indians stranded there. The flight would take off tomorrow afternoon and would be landing on Sunday morning at Delhi Airport. Dammu Ravi, MEA also updated that around 220 students are in and around Milan and bringing them back is top priority. "If any other students are left behind they can contact our missions, and we will see what next we can do," he further said.
