Bike rally organised on International Women's Day in Mumbai

I then shifted to my mother's place with my three daughters.""I have worked day and night. I started wearing pant and a shirt. I never used to think that I am a woman, I just worked extremely hard to earn my livelihood. I have provided education to my daughters and two of them are married now. I have been working for 20-25 years," she added. However, Solanki's health has started deteriorating.

Thick layer of fog canopies Ghaziabad days after rainfall

Ghaziabad (Uttar Pradesh), Mar 08 (ANI): A sudden blanket of thick fog covered several areas in Uttar Pradesh's Ghaziabad on March 08. Fog canopied the areas days after heavy rainfall in Delhi-NCR. Ghaziabad and the adjoining areas received heavy rainfall in last 2-3 days. The rains led to waterlogging in several areas, which affected traffic movement for hours. Traffic congestion was also reported from several areas.

Pune man to get 'Best Mommy of the World' award on Women's Day

Pune (Maharashtra), Mar 08 (ANI): Aditya Tiwari, a Pune resident who adopted a child with Down syndrome in 2016, will be felicitated with 'Best Mommy of the World' award on the occasion of International Women's Day on March 08 in Bengaluru. Tiwari who has been taking care of his son as a single parent believes that parenting is not gender-based thing. While speaking to ANI, Aditya Tiwari said, "I got Avnish's legal custody on January 1, 2016, after 1.5 years of struggle. Since then, our journey has been very adventurous. He is one of the best gifts from the god and I feel blessed. They are earning their livelihood by making spices, soaps, oil and other household items. These organic items are produced by these women groups and they give it for selling after packaging. A woman told ANI, "Before this, I only stayed at home and didn't work. We are working in group to produce spices, soaps and other items. All the women are employed due to this initiative. After working at different places, Daisy Shah decided to set her own firm for hosiery manufacture. She expanded her business with help from Prime Minister's Mudra Yojana. Speaking to ANI, Daisy said, "I took advice from 2-3 people and they suggested me Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana (PMMY). I took help from Union Bank. With that investment I started my own manufacturing. I have been manufacturing hosiery clothing since past 2 years." She further elaborated on her achievements after taking loan from bank, she said, "The help from bank has expanded the margin of my investment. Earlier I had only 5-7 labours, right now there are 20-25 workers working for me."

2 suspected Coronavirus cases reported in Amritsar

Amritsar (Punjab), Mar 07 (ANI): Two suspected cases of Coronavirus reported in Punjab's Amritsar on March 06. Both the suspected patients are admitted in Guru Nanak Dev Hospital. "They (both patients) recently returned from Italy. We have kept them in isolation. They are not allowed to contact anyone, while they are under observation," said Medical Superintendent, Dr Raman Sharma. Meanwhile, the total number of cases of deadly virus in India has risen to 31 till now. According to World Health Organization (WHO), China reported 3,045 deaths and 80, 711 confirmed cases of deadly virus. On the other side, 98192 confirmed cases of coronavirus reported globally. Outbreak of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) was first reported from China's Wuhan on December 31, 2019.

Indian manufacturing sector has potential to reach 1 trillion dollar by 2025: Rajnath Singh

New Delhi, Mar 07 (ANI): Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on March 7 attended the Business Global Summit-2020 in Delhi. While addressing the gathering, he said that India is aiming to increase the manufacturing sector to 25 per cent of the Gross Domestic Product by 2022. The manufacturing sector has the potential to reach 1 trillion dollar by 2025. "We are currently 2.5 trillion dollar economy and ambitiously aiming to become 5 trillion dollar economy by 2024. India's FDI an inflow has been increasingly consistently standing at 44.3637 billion dollar in 2018-19," said Singh.

SBI's rescue plan for Yes Bank is 'bizarre': P Chidambaram

New Delhi, Mar 07 (ANI): Former finance minister and Congress leader P Chidambaram reacted over Yes Bank crisis and said that the resolution plan proposed by State Bank of India (SBI) for Yes Bank is bizarre. "Resolution plan proposed by SBI for Yes Bank is bizarre, when bank's net worth is perhaps 0. It would be better for SBI to take over, on RBI's order, Yes Bank's loan book at Rs 1 and to assure depositors that their money will be returned." "Simultaneously, SBI should make every effort to recover as much as possible of the outstanding loans of Yes Bank," SBI chairman Rajnish Kumar has said that there is a possibility of the state-run lender picking up stake of up to 49% in Yes Bank.
