Mumbai, Mar 07 (ANI): After Reserve Bank of India put up a month-long moratorium on Yes Bank, SBI chairman Rajnish Kumar in a press conference held in Mumbai on March 07, has said that there is a possibility of the state-run lender picking up stake of up to 49 percent in Yes Bank. Kumar said, "The draft scheme of Reserve Bank of India for reconstruction of Yes Bank is already in the public domain. The plan has been received by State Bank of India (SBI) and the legal team is working on the plan. The time is that on Monday, we have to go to RBI with our comments. Secondly, we had informed through the stock exchange that SBI board has given in-principle approval of exploring possibility of picking up a stake of upto 49 percent in Yes Bank." Reserve Bank of India imposed a month-long moratorium on Yes Bank citing 'serious deterioration in its financial position' on March 05, and capped withdrawal limit at Rs 50,000.

New Delhi, Mar 07 (ANI): Britain has confirmed 47 new cases of coronavirus on March 06, bringing the country's total number of infections to 163, according to the country's health authorities. The latest figure includes 147 cases in England, 11 in Scotland, three in Northern Ireland and two in Wales, said the Department of Health and Social Care in a statement. As of 9 am (local time) on Friday, 20,338 people have been tested in Britain, of which 20,175 were confirmed negative and 163 were confirmed positive. One patient who tested positive for the novel coronavirus has died.
Chennai, Mar 07 (ANI): DMK general secretary K Anbazhagan died on March 07 in Chennai following prolonged illness. The mortal remains of Anbazhagan were kept at his residence for the last tribute. Anbazhagan passed away at the age of 97. Following prolonged illness, he breathed his last at Apollo Hospitals in Chennai. He was the general secretary of DMK for 43 years.

Thrissur (Kerala), Mar 07 (ANI): The annual elephant race was held at Guruvayoor Temple in Thrissur on March 06. Gopi Kannan won the race by touching the temple mast first for the 8th time. Thousands of devotees gathered to witness the annual elephant race. A total of 24 elephants participated in the race. Elephant race marks the beginning of the 10-day annual festival of the Guruvayoor Temple.

New Delhi, Mar 07 (ANI): Security researchers have uncovered vulnerability in Intel chips which could potentially allow compromise at the hardware level. Researchers at Positive Technologies revealed that the vulnerability in the ROM of the Intel Converged Security and Management Engine (CSME) is impossible to fix as it is hard-coded in the Mask ROM of microprocessors and chipsets. As Engadget notes, the CSME is the first thing that runs when you boot up your computer. Before it protects its own memory, there's a brief moment when it is vulnerable and this is when hackers could launch a DMA transfer to that RAM, hijacking code execution. The flaw applies to machines with Intel chips built over the last five years or so. Intel was notified of the vulnerabilities and released mitigations in May 2019 to be added into firmware updates for motherboards and computer systems.

New Delhi, Mar 06 (ANI): Delhi Deputy CM Manish Sisodia informed that State Cabinet has approved Rs 5 lakh compensation for completely burnt houses and Rs 2.5 for partially burnt houses. "State Cabinet yesterday approved Rs 5 lakh compensation for completely burnt houses and Rs 2.5 lakh for houses that suffered substantial burns in Delhi violence. New Delhi, Mar 06 (ANI): Equity benchmark indices closed nearly 2.5 per cent lower on Friday after the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) placed Yes Bank under a moratorium and took over its board. The spreading coronavirus (Covid-19) was another reason that weakened market sentiment as the death toll increased to nearly 3,300 globally with infected cases of more than 96,000. Reports said investors lost over Rs 3.7 lakh crore in intraday trading amid Yes Bank crisis and virus-led fears. The BSE SandP Sensex closed 894 points or 2.32 per cent to 37,577 while the Nifty 50 cracked by 289 points or 2.57 per cent at 10,980. All sectoral indices at the National Stock Exchange were in the red with Nifty PSU bank down by 5.25 per cent, private bank by 3.81 per cent, financial service by 2.89 per cent and metal by 4.35 per cent.
