Constable's house set on fire in Delhi violence, BSF offers assistance

New Delhi, Feb 29 (ANI): A team of Border Security Force today visited the house of BSF constable Mohammad Anees. His house in Khajuri Khas area was set on fire during Delhi violence. DIG (Headquarters) Pushpendra Rathore said, "He is currently posted in Odisha and soon will be transferred to Delhi." Pushpendra Rathore, BSF Deputy Inspector General (Headquarters), said, "BSF engineers have come with us. They will repair the house of constable Mohammad Anees. BSF will provide financial assistance to the family from its welfare fund."

Gokulpuri ACP narrates horrific violent clashes in Northeast Delhi

He said, "All of us want peace and harmony to prevail in Delhi and the affected people need to be provided all possible help. However, some students in our campus gave an open call to the outsiders to come and stay in JNU campus. These are the same students who earlier criticised entry of outsiders." "The safety and security for the campus is very important. We have advised the students not to give such open call instead they can collect items and relief materials from the campus for humanitarian help. Coronavirus: Death toll in China mounts to 2,835

New Delhi, Feb 29 (ANI): The death toll from coronavirus in China has mounted to 2,835, officials said on Saturday. The number of confirmed cases has increased to 79,251, Sputnik quoted state health committee as saying. "The state health committee received from 31 provinces (areas, cities of central subordination) information about 79,251 confirmed cases of infection with the new type of coronavirus, including 37,414 people who are currently sick (7,664 are in serious condition), 39,002 people were discharged from hospitals, 2,835 died," the committee said. Coronavirus has spread to more than 45 other countries including the US, UK, Singapore, Italy, France, Russia, Spain and India. The World Health Organisation has declared the outbreak an international health emergency and said the global risk level remains high.

Curfew to be extended in Shillong if situation demands: Meghalaya CM on CAA clashes

While speaking to ANI, Chief Minister Conrad Sangma said, "This is a sensitive situation and I have called an emergency meeting with Additional Chief Secretary Home, DGP, Home Minister and other officials of the state." "We have taken decision to immediately impose curfew in Shillong which starts at 10:00 pm in night and we will see how situation goes and if necessary then will further extend it as initially it is just for 10-12 hours," he added. "The internet on the mobile phones will also be temporarily suspended," CM Sangma further stated.
