Kejriwal, other ministers take charge at Delhi Secretariat

New Delhi, Feb 17 (ANI): A day after taking oath as the Chief Minister of Delhi, Arvind Kejriwal took charge of the office at Delhi Secretariat on February 17. Other six ministers and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leaders also took charge at Delhi Secretariat today. In a grand event at Ramlila Maidan on February 16, besides Kejriwal, Manish Sisodia, Satyendar Jain, Gopal Rai, Kailash Gehlot, Imran Hussain, and Rajendra Pal Gautam were administered oath as ministers by Delhi Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal. No woman leader was included in the new Kejriwal's cabinet, despite the fact that 8 female candidates from AAP emerged victorious in Delhi Assembly polls. 3 Kashmiri students sent to judicial custody for raising 'pro-Pakistan' slogans in Karnataka

Hubli (Karnataka), Feb 17 (ANI): Three Kashmiri students of KLE Institute of Technology, who were arrested after their video allegedly with pro-Pakistan slogans went viral, were produced before a court in Hubli on Feb 17. Lawyers and activists of Hindu organisations staged protest outside the court. The three students have been sent to judicial custody till March 2nd.

New Delhi, Feb 17 (ANI): Former lieutenant governor of Delhi and former vice chancellor (VC) of Jamia Millia Islamia, Najeeb Jung, said that the Delhi Police should give a statement on the viral video from varsity's library. He said, "A statement should come from the police on this. I never saw such brutality even on dacoits let alone students. If a student entered the library carrying stone that is also condemnable. There should be a proper investigation into this." A video was released by Jamia Coordination Committee which showed police attacking students in library. Later on, Delhi Police released a video of library where some of the students, who entered the library prior to the police strike, were carrying stones.

Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi also paid tribute to the former CM. Karpoori Thakur was a socialist leader and freedom fighter, who was twice chief minister of Bihar and prior to that, the state's education minister and deputy chief minister.

SC orders permanent commission to women officers in Army

New Delhi, Feb 17 (ANI): Meenakshi Lekhi, Advocate and BJP leader on SC's announcement on permanent commission granted to all women officers stated that all women officers will get equal rights that only men officers were getting. "Government's political will has been implemented. Now, the court has implemented it and flaked the authorities who were not implementing it. Now, women officers will get equal rights that only men officers were getting," said Meenakshi Lekhi. Supreme Court today announced that women officers in Army said that the permanent commission will apply to all women officers in the Army in service, irrespective of their years of service.

2 criminals killed in encounter by Delhi Police Special Cell

New Delhi, Feb 17 (ANI): Two criminals were killed in an encounter with police in the national capital on February 17. Raja Qureshi and Ramesh Bahadur were killed by Delhi Police Special Cell at around 05:00 am. The two criminals were wanted in multiple cases of crime, the most recent being a murder case in Karawal Nagar. The encounter took place at Pul Prahladpur area of Delhi. Rameswaram (Tamil Nadu), Feb 17 (ANI): The 12-day long celebrations of Maha Shivratri festival commenced in Tamil Nadu's Rameswaram on February 16. 13th Mega Marathon organised to make Imphal healthy city

The 13th Mega Marathon was conducted under Athletic Association of Manipur where thousands of people participated with zeal. The marathon began from Khuman Lampak Hockey Stadium of Imphal. It was organized with the motive to help youths in abstaining from drugs and to make Manipur a healthy state. The winners in marathon were rewarded with cash prize of Rs 40,000, Rs 30,000 and Rs 20,000 respectively. The consolation prize of Rs 3,000 was also awarded to 13 participants from each category.

For the first time ever, a seat reserved for a deity in Kashi Mahakal Express

Varanasi (UP), Feb 17 (ANI): For the first-time ever, the Kashi Mahakal Express train has been turned into a mini-temple for Lord Shiva. Seat number 64 of coach B5 in the train was reserved and left vacant for deity. The train was flagged off by Prime Minister Narendra Modi via video-conferencing on February 16. The train will cover 1,131 km between Varanasi and Indore via Lucknow and a distance of 1,102 km between Varanasi and Indore via Prayagraj (Allahabad) in approximately 19 hours.
