AAP party had won 62 of 70 seats in Delhi Assembly elections on February 11.

Chandauli (UP), Feb 16 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on February 16 flagged off Kashi Mahakaal Express (Varanasi-Indore) via video conferencing. BJP to go solo in Maharashtra, will sweep next assembly polls on its own: JP Nadda

Mumbai, Feb 16 (ANI): Leaving past the bitter memories post the Assembly elections in Maharashtra where the Shiv Sena ditched the BJP to forge alliance with Congress and NCP, BJP president JP Nadda said the party has to ensure that it doesn't need to forge an alliance with anyone in Maharashtra in the future, adding that he can see the party winning the next assembly polls in the state. "We have to ensure that we do not need to forge an alliance with anyone in the future (in Maharashtra). It will be BJP versus other parties in the next polls. I can see that BJP will sweep the next election in the state," Nadda said in Mumbai where he addressed party workers.

CISF personnel save passenger's life by giving CPR at Kolkata airport

Kolkata, Feb 16 (ANI): A passenger J Roychowdhury at Security Hold Area of Kolkata Airport suddenly fell down after complaining of chest pain on February 15. Assistant Inspector General, Public Relations Officer of CISF, Hemendra Singh informed, "Sub Inspector Partha Bose rushed to the passenger and found that he was unconscious and his breathing was unstable. Bose gave cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) to the passenger with the help of Inspector Shampa Karmakar. Thereafter, passenger regained his senses."

New Delhi, Feb 16 (ANI): Bhim Army chief Chandrashekhar Azad led 'Aarakshan Bachao' march from Mandi House to Parliament on February 16. Azad said, "Reservation is our fundamental right, no one can take it away from us. We oppose the judgement of Supreme Court." Viral Jamia video seems to be of Dr Zakir Husain Library: University PRO

New Delhi, Feb 16 (ANI): PRO of Jamia Millia Islamia, Ahmad Azeem, responded to the viral footage of varsity's library from December 15 2019, which has been surfacing on the social media. Azeem said, "Prima facie, the CCTV footage seems to be of MPhil and PhD section in Dr. Zakir Husain Library. We have also come to know that the footage has been released by Jamia Coordination Committee. Delhi Police is investigating the case." The video shows policemen thrashing students who were studying in the library at the time. Special Commissioner (Crime), Praveer Ranjan said that cognizance of the video has been taken and an investigation will be done.

Shaheen Bagh protesters march towards Amit Shah's residence

New Delhi, Feb 16 (ANI): Despite not getting the permission, Shaheen Bagh protesters started their march towards Union Home Minister Amit Shah's residence on February 16. However, police is trying their best to maintain the law and order in the area. "They (Shaheen Bagh protesters) told us that they wanted to take out a march (to meet Home Minister) but we told them they cannot as they do not have appointment call from Union Home Minister. We are talking to them and we hope that they will understand," said DCP South East RP Meena.

MP minister comes out in support of Jyotiraditya Scindia over 'spar' with Kamal Nath

Jabalpur (Madhya Pradesh), Feb 16 (ANI): Amidst the spar between Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh Kamal Nath and Jyotiraditya Scindia, state's Women and Child Development Minister Imarti Devi had come out in support of the latter. She said that if Scindia will protest on streets against "unfulfilled" promises, the whole Congress will support him. While talking to media persons, Imarti Devi said, "Maharaj ji (Jyotiraditya Scindia) is not alone, Kamal Nath is also with him, but there is no need to go on streets as we are fulfilling manifesto's promises." However she further said, "If Jyotiraditya Scindia will take protest than whole Congress will follow him." Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Kamal Nath has dared Scindia to follow his threat of taking to streets over "unfulfilled" promises laid out in party manifesto by saying "let him do". As Scindia was also a claimant for the top post, the two leaders are at loggerhead since the Congress came to power in MP.

Arvind Kejriwal's statue installed at wax museum in Punjab's Ludhiana

Ludhiana (Punjab), Feb 16 (ANI): A wax statue of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convenor Arvind Kejriwal has been installed at Prabhakar Wax Museum in Punjab's Ludhiana. The development comes after the AAP romped to a magnificent victory in the Delhi Assembly election winning 62 out of 70 seats in the Assembly for a second time after its 2015 sweep of 67 seats. Kejriwal is all set to be sworn-in as Delhi CM with his Cabinet at New Delhi's Ramlila Maidan on February 16. The sculptor of the statue said Kejriwal has won for the third time because the leader has fulfilled the promises made to the people. Took cognizance of Jamia library video, will investigate it: Delhi Special CP

New Delhi, Feb 16 (ANI): A two-month old video has emerged that shows several policemen thrashing students at a reading hall of Delhi's Jamia Millia University on the day violence broke out at the campus after a protest march against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA). The clip was released on social media on February 15. It shows students were sitting at university's Old Reading Hall (M Phil Section). A man sitting at a desk hides under a table before cops enter the room while another man is seen rushing around. While speaking to media in the national capital on February 16, the Special Commissioner (Crime) Praveer Ranjan said, "We have taken cognizance of the latest video (of December 15) of Jamia Millia Islamia University (library) which has surfaced now, we will investigate it."
