Indefinite internet ban is abuse of power: SC on JandK restrictions

New Delhi, Jan 10 (ANI): Today Supreme Court delivered a verdict on petitions on situation in JandK after abrogation of Article 370, speaking on this Advocate Shadan Farasat said that SC said that indefinite internet ban is not permissible under our Constitution, it is an abuse of power. "The Court said that indefinite internet ban by the State is not permissible under our Constitution and it is an abuse of power," said Advocate Sadan Farasat.

2 IEDs found in Chhattisgarh's Sukma, later diffused

Sukma (Chhattisgarh), Jan 10 (ANI): Two IEDs of 2 kg and 7 kg are found in Chhattisgarh's Sukma on Jan 09. It was later diffused by CRPF. The bombs were recovered by CRPF during search operations in the Sukma district.

Police stop villagers' foot march after Sec 144 imposed in Amaravati

Facebook won't ban political ads, will allow users to control them

New Delhi, Jan 10 (ANI): Unlike Twitter, Facebook will not ban political ads but users will be able to see fewer political and social issue ads with new controls. According to the official blog, the new Ad Library now allows people to view audience size to understand how many people the advertiser wanted to target. New filters and the ability to search for ads with exact phrases have also been added. Facebook will also roll out a setting to allow people to choose how an advertiser can reach them with a Custom Audience from a list. The new features will roll out in the first quarter of 2020 with political ads control starting early this summer in the US.

New study claims to have found root of fatal malaria infection

New Delhi, Jan 10 (ANI): The origin of Malaria infection has finally been revealed. A new study has come up with the data that can aggravate the treatment of the complex infection. According to Professor Ian Cheeseman from Texas Biomedical Research Institute, "We don't know what is inside malaria infections, or how many different genetically distinct strains of parasites there are. We don't know how related they are to each other. We don't know how many mosquitoes they came from." He was the Principal Investigator of a three-year study which got published at the latest edition of Cell Hostand Microbe, a high-impact peer-reviewed publication. JNU violence: Protestor suffers injury during march towards Rashtrapati Bhavan

New Delhi, Jan 09 (ANI): A protester was injured during JNU students' march towards Rashtrapati Bhavan in the national capital on January 09. Students in large numbers are marching towards Rashtrapati Bhavan demanding removal of JNU Vice Chancellor Mamidala Jagadesh Kumar following January 05 violence in the campus. Many of the protestors were detained near Ambedkar Bhawan by the police. Delhi Police also removed women protesters while they were marching towards Rashtrapati Bhavan. Precautionary deployment of security personnel being done near North and South blocks as JNU students are marching towards Rashtrapati Bhavan.
