Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh), Dec 22 (ANI): Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Pragya Thakur has filed complaint with Bhopal Airport Director alleging she was not allotted the seat she booked in a SpiceJet flight on December 21. "They did not give me the booked seat. I asked them to show the rules. I called the director and lodged a complaint with him," MP said.
Lucknow (UP), Dec 22 (ANI): Uttar Police is all set to stop Trinamool Congress (TMC) leaders to enter in State's capital Lucknow where Section 144 is in place. "We have come to know that some political leaders of TMC want to visit here (Lucknow). We will not permit them for the same as section 144 is imposed in the area and it can make the atmosphere more tense," said UP's Director General of Police (DGP) OP Singh. A Trinamool Congress (TMC) delegation is scheduled to visit Lucknow on December 22 to meet the families of those who died, in alleged police firing, during protests against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA).
Lucknow (UP), Dec 22 (ANI): While speaking to ANI on the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) protest, the District Magistrate (DM) of Lucknow Abhishek Prakash said, "As per guidelines of Courts for situation in which demonstration turns violent, those who caused damage are deemed liable." "Areas have been demarcated under ADMs. After giving 7-day notice, value of properties will be assessed for compensation," DM added.
Dibrugarh (Assam), Dec 22 (ANI): A leopard was rescued by the Forest Department in Assam's Dibrugarh on December 21. It was rescued from Jokai area of Dibrugarh. Leopard was unable to walk properly due to back injury. It will be later released in nearby jungle by the team.
Shimla (HP), Dec 22 (ANI): Heavy rains and continuous snowfall in Kufri hill station of Shimla has thrown daily life out of gear. During the past 24 hours, the temperature in the region has dropped drastically. Local residents in Kufri are facing troubles due to harsh weather conditions. Vehicles have been stranded in several snow clad parts in the state with ice-covered roads resulting in skidding of vehicles. Himachal Pradesh meteorological department forecast predicted further decline in night temperature.
Nagpur (Maharashtra), Dec 22 (ANI): To counter ongoing protests across the country, a massive rally was organised in support of Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) in Maharashtra's Nagpur on December 22. The rally was organised by Lok Adhikar Manch, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and other organisations. The rally began from Yashwant Stadium in Nagpur. President Ram Nath Kovind gave his assent to the Citizenship Amendment Bill (CAB) on December 13 which will give Indian citizenship to non-Muslim immigrants who faced persecution in three neighbouring countries-Pakistan, Bangladesh and Afghanistan.

Firozabad (UP), Dec 22 (ANI): Uttar Pradesh police constable had a narrow escape during protests against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) in Uttar Pradesh's Firozabad on December 21. Vijendra Kumar had a narrow escape after a bullet pierced his bullet proof vest and got stuck in his wallet. While speaking to media, he said, "It happened yesterday (December 21) during the protests, I really feel like this is my second life."
Chandigarh, Dec 22 (ANI): A retired professor couple based in Chandigarh has moved an advance directive in the local court that will let them state their wishes for their future medical care in case of a terminal illness. Retired Professor DN Jauhar and his wife Retired Professor Adarsh Jauhar have moved an advance directive (living will) in local court. The advance directive has been moved in the Chandigarh District Court. While speaking to ANI, Professor DN Jauhar said, "Passive euthanasia has become legal now." "You have to execute a document known as advance directive. You can call this living will, although this word has not been used in the judgement. We are perhaps the first people to move an advance directive," he added.

Pintu Behera, an ardent fan of Virat Kohli from Berhampur, has inked 16 permanent tattoos of the Indian cricket team skipper, including his Jersey No. 18, on his body. Behera said that he has spent over Rs one lakh over these tattoos. The 31-year-old said, "I am a cricket lover from my childhood and became a big fan of Virat Kohli because of his style of playing. So, I have decided to show my respect to him in this way. When I decided to make tattoos in 2016, I didn't have money. So I started saving money and got tattoos inked". He said that in October, he got the chance to meet the Indian captain during a Test match between India and South Africa at Visakhapatnam. "I didn't imagine that he would meet and hug me. It was a special moment for me. I had been waiting to meet him since 2016. Finally, I got the opportunity to meet him during Test Match between India and South Africa at Vishakhapattanam in October," he said.

New Delhi, Dec 21 (ANI): Addressing a press conference, BJP leader Bhupender Yadav said that BJP will launch its CAA campaign and contact over three crore families through it. "Our party has decided that in the coming 10 days we will launch a special campaign and contact over 3 crore families for Citizenship Amendment Act. We will hold press briefings in support of this Act at more than 250 places," said Bhupender Yadav.
Lucknow (UP), Dec 21 (ANI): While addressing a press conference in Lucknow, Praveen Kumar, Inspector General (Law and Order) for Lucknow, informed that 15 people have died while 705 are in custody since the protests against the Citizenship Amendment Act spread across the state. He said. "In protest against Citizenship Amendment Act since Dec 10 in state, 705 people arrested and around 4500 people released after preventive arrest.15 casualties have happened, and 263 police personnel were injured of which 57 personnel received fire arm injuries."
