New Delhi, Dec 13 (ANI): Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman reacted over Congress leader Rahul Gandhi's 'Rape in India' remark on December 13. She said, "We are talking about women and their dignity. I could've definitely gone hammer and tongs on that matter...It's a matter of shame that a senior leader of Congress speaks forgetting about the dignity of women." She made this statement while addressing a press conference in New Delhi.
Mumbai, Dec 13 (ANI): Maharashtra Home Minister Eknath Shinde reacted over Citizenship (Amendment) Act 2019 and said that Maharashtra government and Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray will take a decision in the interest of the state. "Chief Minister (Uddhav Thackeray) will take a decision on Citizenship (Amendment) Act 2019 People of all caste, religion and language live in this state. All of them should feel that this government is theirs. Our government will continue to maintain a free atmosphere and see that law and order is maintained," said Maharashtra Home Minister.

New Delhi, Dec 13 (ANI): After the winter session of Parliament concluded today (December 13), Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla said that when India will celebrate 75 years of Independence in 2022, efforts are underway to have a new session in new building of Parliament. "The process is on, discussions are on. I had requested to Prime Minister, and he had given his assent," said Speaker Om Birla.

Memorendums of Understanding (MoUs) were also exchanged between India and Maldives on December 13. Maldivian FM is in India on a five-day visit. He said, "Some elements may try to create violence but Northeastern people are peace-loving, protests are also taking place but there are ways and means of protesting. Some have tried to take advantage of the situation."
New Delhi, Dec 13 (ANI): Incumbent United Kingdom (UK) Prime Minister Boris Johnson's Conservative Party secured a majority in the House of Commons. The party has crossed the majority mark of 326 seats. The Labour Party lost with 198 seats in the house. Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated the Boris with a tweet. He wrote, "Many congratulations to PM Boris Johnson for his return with a thumping majority. I wish him the best and look forward to working together for closer India-UK ties." This was Britain's third general election in a little more than four years.

Union Cabinet Minister for Women and Child Development Smriti Irani, who defeated the Congress leader in Amethi in 2019 Lok Sabha polls, said, "This is first time in the history that a leader is giving a clarion call that Indian women should be raped. Is this Rahul Gandhi's message to the people of the country?"

Speaking on the development, Asha Devi, mother of 2012 Delhi gang-rape victim said, "When we have fought for 7 years, we can wait for another week. On December 18, their (convicts in the case) death warrant will be issued."

Thirty computer units have been made available at the centre to facilitate hassle free availing of the facility. New Delhi, Dec 13 (ANI): Parliamentarians paid tribute to those who lost their lives in 2001 Parliament attack. Vice President Venkaiah Naidu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah paid homage. Former prime minister Manmohan Singh also paid his tribute to the martyrs. Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha, Ghulam Nabi Azad and Congress president Sonia Gandhi was also present to pay homage. On December 13, 2001, five terrorists belonging to terror outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM), stormed the Parliament complex in New Delhi and opened fire indiscriminately. Around 14 people, mostly security forces and one civilian, were killed in this incident. The incident took place around 40 minutes after Parliament was adjourned and about 100 members were present in the building.

Speaking in the matter, lawyer for accused in the Nirbhaya case, AP Singh said, "When those sitting in Parliament say these kinds of criminals should be shot dead, it's disrespect of the Constitution. Can anyone guarantee that after these convicts are hanged atrocities against women, rape cases will stop?"
