Girish Chandra Murmu takes oath as 1st Lt Governor of UT of JandK

Srinagar (JandK), Oct 31 (ANI): Girish Chandra Murmu takes oath as the first Lt. Governor of the Union territory of Jammu and Kashmir in Srinagar on October 31. The oath was administered by Chief Justice of JandK High Court, Gita Mittal. The announcement of the abrogation of the Jammu and Kashmir's special status and its bifurcation was made on August 05. The state of Jammu and Kashmir was bifurcated into two parts- Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh.

'Khaki Files' a book by Neeraj Kumar, Former Delhi Police Chief released

New Delhi, Oct 31 (ANI): The author of the bestselling book 'Dial D for Don: Inside Stories of CBI Missions' has yet come up with his second book 'Khaki Files-Inside Stories of Police Investigations.' The former Justice of Supreme Court Madan B. Lokur released this book in a programme organized at Constitutional Club at New Delhi. The book is the compilation of many high-profile cases of his career as an IPS officer. He also revisited many more cases which includes December 13 2001 Attack on Indian Parliament and a case of 23-year-old Physiotherapist who was brutally gang-raped in the moving bus in Delhi in December 16 2012.

Development is composite: RK Mathur after taking oath as 1st Lt Governor of Ladakh

Leh (JandK), Oct 31 (ANI): Radha Krishna Mathur took the oath as the first first Lieutenant Governor of the Union Territory of Ladakh. After taking the oath, he said that efforts will be made to carry out development work in all areas of the Union Territory. "Development is composite, efforts will be made to carry out development work in all areas. A development package will be made, and education and health will play an important role in it."

Ramdas Athawale extends support to Devendra Fadnavis as CM of Maharashtra

He also said that for now, there is no point of electing chief minister from Shiv Sena. "The 'mahayuti' (BJP-Shiv Sena alliance) has got a clear majority. Mumbai, Oct 31 (ANI): Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut on Thursday said that the party will not step back from the stand on 50-50 formula for government formation in Maharashtra. He said, "If anyone has gone back on their promise, it is our ally. We will continue to move forward with our demand." In last week's Maharashtra elections, the BJP won 105 seats in the 288-member Maharashtra Assembly and the Shiv Sena ended up with 56. Washington (US), Oct 31 (ANI): The United States Military has released a video of raid in Northern Syria in which the Islamic State (IS) group leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi was nutralised. The video shows the troops firing at militants on the ground as they flew towards the compound in which the IS leader was hiding. After the raid, the compound was destroyed with munitions. The head of US Central Command, Gen Kenneth McKenzie briefed the media about the whole operation by showing the video.
