Vadodara (Gujarat), Aug 02 (ANI): Heavy rainfall has thrown life out of gear in Gujarat's Vadodara. National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) personnel rescued people from Rhythm Heart Institute in Vadodara following flooding in the area on Friday. Rains also lashed other parts of the state including Ahmedabad city and central Gujarat. People queued up to buy milk in flood hit Vadodara. The government has deployed nine teams of the NDRF, besides the Army and the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) to evacuate people from areas.
Siliguri (WB), Aug 02 (ANI): Incessant rainfall has battered tea gardens in the Terai and the Dooars regions of West Bengal. Most of the tea gardens of the regions are rapidly losing their tea crops land. It is happening due to the havoc land erosion by the hilly rivers water flows. The rivers of the region are changing their direction rapidly. While speaking to ANI, a tea garden worker, Paratp Kujur said, "Regular work couldn't be done during rainfall, also some land got swept away in the heavy water flow". This year, it crossed its extreme level, when the region recorded its highest amount of rain at the end of the rainy season. Heavy rainfall led to the production of the tea falling by around 10-15 per cent in the first fortnight of July.
Bangkok (Thailand), Aug 02 (ANI): External Affairs Minister (EAM) Dr Subrahmanyam Jaishankar met Foreign Affairs Minister of Timor-Leste Dionisio Babo Soares in Bangkok. Meanwhile, he also met Vietnam Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh in Bangkok. EAM Jaishankar also met Foreign Minister of Mongolia, D. Tsogtbaatar. Jaishankar is in the Thai capital to attend a series of meetings including the ASEAN-India Ministerial Meeting.
Bhubaneswar (Odisha), Aug 02 (ANI): The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA and the party's Deputy Leader in Odisha Assembly, Bishnu Sethi on Thursday said that Congress was unnecessarily creating problems on his statement on the ordeals faced by women, who were given triple talaq. Sethi had earlier claimed that Muslim women, who are given triple talaq by their husbands, are forced into prostitution-a statement he faced flak for. Speaking to ANI on his remark 'Women who are given triple talaq are forced into prostitution', Sethi said there was nothing wrong in what he said. "There is nothing wrong in what I said, even in Pakistan and Bangladesh, they don't have triple talaq. Victims are our daughters too. There are many reports which point towards this."

Washington (United States), Aug 02 (ANI): While addressing the media on several issues including the matter that India rejects United States's mediation offer for Kashmir, US President Donald Trump said, "It is really up to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and I met with Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan, I got along great. I think they are a fantastic people, Khan and Modi. I mean, I would imagine they can get along very well." "If they wanted somebody to intervene (on Kashmir issue) or to help them, I would certainly intervene and I spoke with Pakistan about that, and I also spoke to India about it."
Muzaffarpur (Bihar), Aug 02 (ANI): A 7th class student Suraj Kumar was stabbed to death in his school premises in Bihar's Muzaffarpur on Thursday. The incident took place in Ahiyapur area of Muzaffarpur. He was stabbed to death allegedly by one of the accused, who stole his mother's purse a day before. Locals held protest in front of the government school. While speaking to media, DSP of Muzaffarpur (Town) Mukul Kumar Ranjan said, "The woman and the thieves belonged to the same village. The woman identified him and had an argument. She filed an FIR and police immediately arrested one accused, the other accused is suspected of stabbing the child."
Srinagar (Jammu and Kashmir), Aug 02 (ANI): While addressing a gathering in Jammu and Kashmir's Srinagar, Bharatiya Janata Party national general secretary Ram Madhav said, "There're 2 reasons that make a terrorist in Kashmir- politics of some political parties, who indirectly or directly support terrorism for their own interests. Political, or non-political groups like Hurriyat Conference or Jamaat-e-Islami, need to be mended". He further added, "Those political leaders who support separatism, terrorism, those who send their own children abroad for studies, but make innocent children here victims of terror, the government has taken the task of mending the leaders who do this type of politics". "The 2nd reason is that thousands of crores of rupees is given to Jammu and Kashmir by the Centre every year, but nothing reaches the people, as a few ruling families capture the money", said Madhav.

Panipat (Haryana), Aug 02 (ANI): Kuldeep, 18-year-old state-level wrestler from Haryana was stabbed to death in Panipat's Israna village. The incident took place when Kuldeep was in market where two accused, who knew the wrestler, stabbed him. Kuldeep was later taken to hospital where he was declared brought dead. Police said although the two accused had a bitter telephone conversation with Kuldeep just before the latter's murder, the real reason behind the murder is yet to be investigated.

Gold tips from Maijan Tea Estate of Assam Company India Limited were sold for Rs 70,501 per kg at (Guwahati Tea Auction Centre) GTAC. As per claims, this is the highest price fetched by any tea sold at any auction centre in India. The Mundhra Tea Company of Guwahati purchased the tea at the record price which will be shared between their client Steven Plaizier from Belgium and Namah Marketing, a Guwahati-based online tea store.
Rampur (UP), Aug 02 (ANI): 1 person died while several others got injured after a vehicle carrying 'Kanwariyas' was hit by another vehicle in Uttar Pradesh's Rampur. The incident took place in Shahjadnagar area. The mishap took place when 'Kanwariyas' were fixing their vehicle. Injured have been admitted to hospital. Police investigation is underway.

New Delhi, Aug 02 (ANI): A new study has established an association between cervical cancer and stress in patients, stating that females having cervical cancer with stress-related disorders are at a higher risk of succumbing to the disease. Findings of the study were published in the journal 'Cancer Research'. "Patients receiving a cancer diagnosis are at increased risk of several stress-related psychiatric disorders, such as depression, anxiety, and stress-reaction and adjustment disorders," said Donghao Lu, the study's author.

He'll be warned, if he tweets anything which is against ideals of Constitution, action will be taken; he is on surveillance." In a bizarre incident, a Zomato customer cancelled his order because of a 'non-Hindu' delivery guy. He tweeted Zomato to cancel the order. Zomato replied to customer, 'Food doesn't have a religion. It is a religion'.
Ajmer (Rajasthan), Aug 1 (ANI): At least three people died in house collapse due to heavy rainfall in Rajasthan's Ajmer. The incident took place at Nagphani area today. One person was rescued from the site of house collapse. Rescue operation is underway. Further details are awaited.

Panaji (Goa), Aug 01 (ANI): After Goa Assembly passed a bill that allows women in industrial sector to work in the night shift, former Goa chief minister and NCP leader Churchill Alemao questioned government on security provided to women if they work in night shifts. Elaborating on his objection Churchill Alemao went on and said, "Goan women and girls are very delicate. If women start working in night shifts, what security can government give them? In Goa, there are lots of migrants, almost 70%. Girls and ladies are not safe now."
