Pakistan wants to divide Sikhs, alleges Akali leader

Ludhiana (Punjab), Aug 02 (ANI): A senior spokesperson of the Akali Dal has accused Pakistan of hatching conspiracies to create a rift between the Sikh community in both countries by floating religion-based narratives. Maheshinder Singh Grewal from the Akali Dal claimed that Pakistan's spy agency, the ISI (Inter-Services Intelligence) that has failed in all of its nefarious anti-India designs now wants to create a rift between Sikhs of India and Sikhs of Pakistan. He, however, asserted that Sikhs loved their country more than anything else. Serious attempts were taken to disrupt Amarnath Yatra: ADG CRPF

Srinagar (J-K), 02 Aug (ANI): Additional Director General of Central Reserve Police Force, Zulfiquar Hasan said on Friday that there have been serious attempts to disrupt the Amarnath Yatra. "Amarnath Yatra has seen unprecedented turnout and in spite of many threats it has been peaceful, there have been serious attempts to disrupt the Yatra but were unsuccessful due to hard work of security personnel, use of technology and cooperation of people," he further added in a joint press conference of Indian Army. However, The Jammu and Kashmir home department issued an advisory to all pilgrims of the Amarnath Yatra, asking them to "return immediately," while also suspending the Yatra in the wake of heightened terror threats.

Unnao rape survivor accident: CBI recreates crime scene in Raebareli

Raebareli (Uttar Pradesh), Aug 02 (ANI): A Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) team conducted investigation at the accident site where Unnao rape survivor met with an accident on July 28. The crime scene was recreated by experts to begin the probe. CBI team examined the survivor's car and the truck which was involved in accident. CBI has registered a case in the accident of Unnao rape case survivor. Two people died while survivor and her lawyer suffered critical injuries in the accident.

Stone pelters taking up weapons in J-K: Lt General KJS Dhillon

Srinagar (J-K), 02 Aug (ANI): While addressing a press conference in Jammu and Kashmir's Srinagar, the commander of the Chinar Corps Lt General KJS Dhillon said 83% of locals who pick up weapons had record of stone pelting. "We had done an in-depth analysis of terrorism in Kashmir. 83 percent of local people who pick up weapons had record of stone pelting. I request all mothers, if today your child throws stones at security forces for Rs 500 then he'll become terrorist tomorrow," KJS Dhillon further added.

Army recovered Pakistani weapons from Amarnath route: Lt General KJS Dhillon

Srinagar (J-K), 02 Aug (ANI): The Army on Friday said that an M-24 sniper rifle, IEDs and landmines belonging to the Pakistan Army along with a telescope were recovered from a terror cache along the Amarnath route. "A Pakistan Army landmine has also been recovered from one of the caches of terrorists. This clearly indicates that Pakistan Army is involved in terrorism in Kashmir, this will not be tolerated," said the commander of the Chinar Corps Lt General K.J.S Dhillon.

Wall collapses due to rainfall in Gurugram, several cars damaged

Vadodara: Water level receding in city, bridges opened for vehicular traffic, says Collector

Vadodara (Gujarat), Aug 02 (ANI): District Collector of Vadodara, Shalini Agarwal informed that the water in city is receding along with the water level going down in Vishwamitri River. She said, "Bridges have been opened for vehicular traffic. Electricity and water supply is being restored. SDRF and NDRF teams are deployed for evacuation." She further added, "Health and cleanliness campaigns are being taken up in the city. There were 4 deaths due to wall collapse and 2 due to rainfall. We have 13 teams for rescue of crocodiles, 4 were rescued today and 2 were rescued yesterday."

2-day annual Phyang Monastery Festival concludes in Ladakh

Ladakh (JandK), Aug 02 (ANI): Two-day annual Phyang Monastery Festival concluded in Jammu and Kashmir's Ladakh. The annual Phyang Tsesdup was celebrated on the 28th and 29th day of the 5th month of the Tibetan lunar calendar. During the festival, monks organise special puja and perform mask dance. Large numbers of people including foreign and domestic tourists witness the festival. The Phyang Tsedup festival closes with the destruction of 'Storma' on the final day symbolizing victory of good over evil. The monastery belongs to Drikungpa sect of Tibetan Buddhism. This is the fourth monastery of Drikungpa sect in Ladakh.

Smriti Irani urges Parliamentarians to boost World Breastfeeding Week to curb child malnutrition

New Delhi, Aug 02 (ANI): Union Cabinet Minister for Women and Child Development Smriti Irani on Friday raised nutritional security issue in the Lok Sabha. She urged to the Parliamentarians to boost the World Breastfeeding Week with the help of Food and Nutrition Board in their respective constituencies. "1000 days of child can save them from malnutrition. I urged all the Parliamentarians boost the breast feeding in their constituencies, so that child can have mothers' milk within an hour of birth," said Irani. New Delhi, Aug 02 (ANI): The Rajya Sabha passed the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Amendment (UAPA) Bill on Friday. Union Home Minister Amit Shah replied to Congress leader Chidambaram on his question, why to name an individual as a terrorist when the organisation they are affiliated to is already banned, he said that it is important to name terrorists individually as new terror organisations keep coming up after one is banned. "Chidambaram asked why to name an individual as a terrorist when the organisation they are affiliated to is already banned. It is because we ban one organisation, another one comes up by the same individuals. Till when will we keep banning organisations?"
