Udhampur (Jammu and Kashmir), Jul 31 (ANI): Incessant rain has created havoc in Jammu and Kashmir's Udhampur. Several houses have collapsed in the area leading to loss of property. One person died and two injured in house collapse due to continuous rainfall. Injured people are being treated at the district hospital. Rainstorm and rainfall have brought local life on standstill.
Srinagar (JandK), July 31 (ANI): While addressing the press conference, Ram Madhav, National General Secretary, BJP said, "Local political leaders are creating an environment of fear here (JandK) for their selfish motives. Steps being taken by centre are in accordance with situation here. Security forces being deployed or taken back from JandK, especially Kashmir is a continuous process."He added, "Extra forces are deployed here during Amarnath Yatra, we also have to conduct block-level elections. But linking this to something else is only due to selfish motives. They are doing drama to protect themselves, now when action against corruption is being taken."
New Delhi, July 31 (ANI): Minister of Information and Broadcasting, Prakash Javadekar made an announcement that India will have a Technical Liaison Unit of Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) in Moscow. While addressing a press conference in New Delhi, Minister of Information and Broadcasting, Prakash Javadekar said, "We have decided to have a Technical Liaison Unit of Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) in Moscow. The unit will collaborate with Space agencies/industries in Russia and neighbouring countries for mutually synergetic outcomes. The Cabinet has approved memorandum of understanding (MoU) between ISRO and the Bolivian Space Agency on Cooperation in the exploration and uses of outer space for peaceful purposes.
Solapur (Maharashtra), July 31 (ANI): The roof of the building that houses Bank of Maharashtra's branch in Solapur has been collapsed today. Around 20 people are feared trapped and 10 people have been evacuated from the spot. More details are awaited in this regard. Rescue operation is underway.

Madurai (Tamil Nadu), Jul 31 (ANI): 'Vaigai Peru Vizha' festival celebration began in Tamil Nadu's Madurai. It is a 12-day festival held at river bed of Vaigai. On the 8th day of celebration, special prayers were held for cows. 60 cows were garlanded and were smeared tilak. Hundreds of devotees thronged temple to participate in the festival.

Mangaluru (Karnataka), July 31 (ANI): Following a massive search operation involving multiple agencies, the body of Cafe Coffee Day founder-owner VG Siddhartha has been found on the banks of Netravati River near Hoige Bazaar in Mangaluru. The 58-year-old businessman is the son-in-law of former chief minister of state SM Krishna and has been missing since Monday evening. A massive search operation involving multiple teams of police forces along with the Coast Guard and NDRF was being carried out since Tuesday to locate Siddhartha. A letter written by Siddhartha was also surfaced on Tuesday where he apologised to people who 'put their trust' in him. While speaking on the incident, Mangaluru Police Commissioner Sandeep Patil said, "We have found the body early morning today. It needs to be identified, we have already informed the family members. We are shifting the body to Wenlock Hospital. We will continue further investigation."
Mangaluru (Karnataka), July 31 (ANI): Cafe Coffee Day (CCD) owner VG Siddhartha, whose body was found on the banks of Netravati River early in the morning on Wednesday near Hoige Bazaar, was little upset regarding the "Income Tax torture", claimed his close associate and Sringeri MLA T D Rajegowda. While speaking to ANI, Rajegowda said, "He was a little upset regarding the Income Tax torture, wanted to sell 2-3 properties to settle all the debts because he was having more assets than liabilities." Siddhartha was last spotted on Monday evening at the Netravati Bridge, where he had gone for a stroll. "

While speaking to ANI, he said, "He is a man, I don't think that he is so weak that is going to commit suicide. I don't think that there is any reason to commit suicide." Siddhartha body was found on the banks of Netravati River early in the morning on Wednesday near Hoige Bazaar.

Hapur (UP), July 31 (ANI): Over 12 children were admitted to hospital last night after they consumed milk being distributed at a temple in Indergarhi on the occasion of 'Sawan Shivratri.' The children, many of them toddlers, were admitted to the emergency section of a government hospital and are stable now. Hapur ADM Jainath Yadav (SDM) said, "There is a Durga temple, where some rituals were going on. Milk was distributed to the children after which they fell ill. They are now stable and are undergoing treatment." Families, however, alleged that there was cannabis in the milk. Guddu, the father of a child admitted at the hospital said, "They consumed milk which was mixed with cannabis. Children fell ill after drinking it. "
The body of Cafe Coffee Day founder V G Siddhartha, who had gone missing, was found on Wednesday in the Netravati river in Dakshina Kannada district of Karnataka after 36 hours of intense search, officials said. Two days prior to his disappearance, the coffee baron had left behind a note to his employees that revealed he was in deep debt. The mountain of debt was impairing his business as working capital requirements could not be met. It led him to sale his stakes in IT firm Mindtree that gave him some room to manoeuvre. "I have failed to create the right profitable business model despite my best efforts. I would like to say I gave it my all. I am very sorry to let down all the people that put their trust in me. I fought for a long time but today I gave up as I could not take any more pressure...," his note read.
