Bhubaneswar (Odisha), Jul 03 (ANI): Art exhibition is underway at Biju Patnaik International Airport with the theme of Rath Yatra and Jagannath culture to attract tourists. Odisha Lalit Kala Akademi in collaboration with the airport authorities organised the painting exhibition. The exhibition will be held from 2 to 12 July. The Rath Yatra will commence on July 4. The exhibition was inaugurated in presence of Suresh Chandra Hota, first Odia Director of Biju Patnaik International Airport.

New Delhi, July 02 (ANI): While speaking in Lok Sabha on Tuesday, Congress Parliamentary Party chief Sonia Gandhi opposed move to privatise Raebareli coach factory. She said that government was seeking to surreptitiously privatise the modern coach factory in Raebareli, adding that it has caused uncertainty among employees and their families. She further added, "Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru had termed Public Sector Undertakings (PSU) as 'temples of modern India'. It hurts to see that most of such temples are in danger today. Despite profits, their employees are not getting salary on time and they have been put in trouble to benefit some industrialists."
Mumbai, July 02 (ANI): In the past 48 hours Mumbai has witnessed an unprecedented downpour. According to officials, this year Mumbai rain broke 10 years record in several areas. They also defined it as nature fury and cloudburst. Central Public Relation Officer of Central Railways Sunil Udasi told ANI, "Kurla-Thane belt saw unprecedented rain of 183 mm within 3 hours which caused some water logging. Railway Protection Force (RPF) and commercial staff were up all night in order to provide their service and conducted rescue operations."
Mumbai, July 02 (ANI): At least 21 persons died, while 13 others sustained injuries after a wall collapsed on hutments in Pimpripada area of Malad East, Mumbai. A compound wall collapsed on the hutments due to heavy downpour. Rescue operation is underway in Malad-East. While speaking to mediapersons, Chief Fire Officer said, "We rescued a woman from under the debris. We used the best equipment, rescue in such tight spaces is very tough"
PoK, 02 July, 2019:- Hundreds of secretariat workers in Pakistan-occupied-Kashmir are staging protests against the discriminatory financial policies of Pakistan that have saturated their salary amounts. They raised slogans against Islamabad and asked to immediately step into the mounting crisis that has left their homes strapped of cash at a time when people are already enduring the blow of the inflation. Protesters demanded that they should be treated at par with the employees in other parts of the country. Their demands include general incentives and other attendance allowance which the employees of each organisation receive across Pakistan. The protesters who have also expressed their anger in the past said they are determined and won't withdraw their demands until the justice is meted to them.

New Delhi, July 02 (ANI): Independent Member of Parliament from Karnataka's Mandya, Sumalatha raised 'Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan' slogan in her first speech at Lok Sabha on Tuesday. In her maiden speech, Sumalatha Ambareesh said that Centre must save 'Annadatas'. While talking about her constituency Mandya, Sumalatha said, "We are looking at a huge water crisis and impending drought conditions which are already present in my region, this presents a very bleak scenario for farmers, who are sugarcane and paddy growers." New Delhi, July 02 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi will start a membership drive from Uttar Pradesh's Varanasi on July 06, told Bharatiya Janata Party leader Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Tuesday. Former Madhya Pradesh chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, who is the chairman of the drive, said, "Party will organise special membership drive nationwide, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will flag the campaign from Varanasi". A target of 50 per cent increase in membership was set for states like Bengal, Jammu and Kashmir, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu. Currently, BJP has about 11 crore members and the party is planning to increase the number by at least 20 per cent.

Baran (Rajasthan), July 02 (ANI): A farmer allegedly committed suicide in Rajasthan's Baran district today. The incident took place in Mangrol town of Baran. While speaking to ANI on this matter, Collector said, "He had taken a loan of Rs 90,000 from ICICI bank. He has a son and three daughters, his son was suffering from a disease and a daughter had mental problems, he was under stress due to family issues. Probe is underway in this regard."

Madurai (Tamil Nadu), July 02 (ANI): Locals faced acute water scarcity issue in Tamil Nadu's Madurai. Due to lack of monsoon for last four years, Sathaiyar Dam dried up and created water scarcity. Locals are forced to buy drinking water. There is no water for irrigation and for daily chores in the area. State government has not taken any step towards it yet.
