Bulandshahr violence: Court issues direction to impose sedition charges on 44 accused

Bulandshahr (UP), June 30 (ANI): The CJM court on Saturday issued a direction to impose sedition charges on 44 people accused of instigating violence in Chingravathi area of Bulandshahr on December 3 last year. In the violence that ensued in Bulandshahr, Kumar and a local youth were killed when a mob went on a rampage over allegations of illegal cow slaughter. The court pronounced its order after hearing arguments of both the sides and approval of the administration. "When the charge sheet was filed in this case, at that time the court had not put Section 124A of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) because there was no permission from the administration. Later when they got the permission, the court has allowed to put the sedition charge," said defence lawyer Sanjay Sharma. "We will now move to the High Court and will file a plea there soon," he added. Violence had erupted in the city after carcasses of 25 cattle were found in the forests close to a police station. NDRF teams are pre-positioned ahead of Southwest Monsoon: NDRF DG

New Delhi, Jun 30 (ANI): SN Pradhan, Director General, National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) on monsoon preparations said, "For monsoon, as per standard operating procedure, we do pre-deployment, NDRF teams are pre-positioned. This year as well we have started the pre-positioning process. This will be done soon in all the states which have requested for it." New Delhi, June 30 (ANI): People often think that thirdhand smoke is not harmful, however, it does affect us negatively. Thirdhand smoke can damage epithelial cells in the respiratory system by stressing cells and causing them to fight for survival, suggests a study. The study published in the journal 'JAMA Network Open' could assist physicians in treating patients exposed to thirdhand smoke. "Our data show that cells in humans are affected by thirdhand smoke (THS). The health effects of THS, have been studied in cultured cells and animal models, but this is the first study to show a direct effect of thirdhand smoke on gene expression in humans," said Prue Talbot, who led the research. Thirdhand smoke, or THS, results when exhaled smoke and smoke emanating from the tip of burning cigarettes settles on surfaces such as clothing, hair, furniture, and cars.
