Sitapur (Uttar Pradesh), Jun 17 (ANI): Atleast six people died and at least seven others injured after the vehicle they were travelling in met with an accident in Tedwa Chilaula area on late Monday night. According to police, the victims were travelling in a tractor-trolley to attend a wedding, when a speeding oil tanker hit their vehicle from behind. The injured were immediately rushed to the district hospital. Three critically injured people were later referred to the trauma centre in Lucknow for further treatment, the police said. "A major accident has taken place due to a collision between a tanker and a tractor-trolley. Unfortunately, six have died so far. Seven people are injured. Teams of medical and police have been pressed into action," Sitapur SP L R Kumar said. Witnesses said there were as many as 40 people travelling in the trolley when the accident took place.
New Delhi, Jun 18 (ANI): People staged protest in Delhi's Mukherjee Nagar over assault on auto driver and his son. The auto driver Sarabjit Singh and his son were thrashed by the police, yesterday. The incident took place after his auto rammed police's vehicle and things turned ugly. Three police personnel have been suspended in the case.
Dehradun (Uttarakhand), Jun 18 (ANI): Sixty-seven children who were earlier into beggary have been admitted to government schools under 'Operation Mukti,' a campaign of the state police. With the motto of 'Bhiksha Nahi, Shiksha,' the campaign attempts to motivate children and their families to choose education over begging. Attempts have also been made to improve the financial condition of the parents of these children. In the first phase of this campaign, which started on May 1, the focus was primarily on Dehradun district. In addition to Dehradun district, this campaign under 'Operation Mukti' is also ongoing in Haridwar, Nainital, and Udham Singh Nagar districts of the state. Speaking to ANI, Nodal officer Shekhar Suyal said, "It was observed that 292 children were not part of mainstream in city out of which 191 were involved in begging, we targeted such children."
Udaipur (Rajasthan), Jun 18 (ANI): In an astonishing case, over 80 items were removed from a patient's stomach after operation at Udaipur's MB Hospital. Recovered items included keys, coins, safety pins and 'chillam' among others. X-ray revealed various items stacked up in his stomach after which doctors took the decision to operate him.

New Delhi, Jun 18 (ANI): Seeking new treatments to slow the progression of Alzheimer's disease, researchers found the blood pressure drug nilvadipine increased blood flow to the brain's memory without affecting other parts of the brain. Alzheimer's disease is the most common form of dementia. The risk for the disease increases with age and the causes are largely unknown. Previous research has shown that blood flow to the brain declines in early Alzheimer's disease. These findings indicate that cerebral blood flow in patients with Alzheimer's can be reversed in some regions, according to the study published in the Journal of Hypertension. Nilvadipine is a calcium channel blocker used to treat high blood pressure. Researchers sought to discover whether nilvadipine could help treat Alzheimer's disease by comparing the use of nilvadipine and a placebo (a medicine or procedure prescribed for the psychological benefit) among people with mild to moderate Alzheimer's disease. Hyderabad, Jun 18 (ANI): A young Hyderabadi resident, Goutham, has decided to bring a change in the society by cremating orphan dead bodies with full religious rites. Goutham founded a non-governmental organisation (NGO) 'Serve Needy' and has been carrying out the function without expecting anything in return for the last two years. "We named the project 'Free Last Rites for Orphan Dead Bodies' and started it 2 years ago. Till date, we have done conducted the last rites for around 500 dead bodies. For this, I have been awarded 'Bharat World Record' and Bharat 'Yuva Seva Ratna Award," Goutham told ANI.

They protested over death of several children's due to brain fever in the state of Bihar. The death toll due to the outbreak of viral infection Acute Encephalitis Syndrome (AES) has reached 102 in Bihar on Sunday. They also raised slogans against Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in this regard.
Gaya (Bihar), Jun 17 (ANI): Even as the Indian Medical Association (IMA) has called a nation-wide strike to protest against the violent attacks against junior doctors in West Bengal earlier this month, Bihar Health Minister Mangal Pandey said the medical association has excluded major parts of Bihar like Muzaffarpur and Gaya which are respectively reeling under the effects of Acute Encephalitis Syndrome (AES) and intense heat wave. More than 100 children have died in Muzaffarpur and over 40 people have died in Gaya due to heatstroke. The IMA and other medical associations are protesting in many parts of the country to protest against unsafe environment at hospitals.

Patna (Bihar), Jun 17 (ANI): Bihar Health Minister Mangal Pandey, who was present during a State Health Department meeting over Acute Encephalitis Syndrome (AES) outbreak in Muzaffarpur, was heard asking about the latest cricket score of India-Pakistan cricket World Cup 2019 match on Sunday. Pandey could be heard saying, "kitna wicket hua tha (how many wickets fell)" during the meeting in which Union Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan and Minister of State (MoS) Ashwini Choubey were also present. Mumbai, June 17 (ANI): Metropolitan Magistrate Court in Bandra today acquitted Vidyut Jammwal in a 2007 assault case. The action hero was accused of smashing a bottle on a Juhu resident's head. Vidyut is best known for playing the action hero in the Commando series. The actor is currently busy shooting for Commando 3, the third installment of the series. Vidyut made his Bollywood debut in 2011 with the John Abraham-starrer Force.
