The Union Cabinet has approved Semicon 2.0, the second phase of the India Semiconductor Mission, with an outlay of ₹1.27 trillion. It aims to boost chip design, manufacturing, packaging, research and talent development. It also offers incentives for companies producing semiconductor equipment, materials and industrial gases. The initiative builds on the progress made under the first phase and aims to strengthen India’s domestic semiconductor ecosystem.
