Badrinath (Uttarakhand), June 07 (ANI): Famous hill shrine of Badrinath opened on May 15, however without grand ceremony without pilgrims. On June 8, pilgrims will be allowed to visit the temple in accordance to MHA's guidelines. Temple authorities are taking measures to maintain social distancing. Uttarakhand has recorded 869 cases of coronavirus as of June 7. Locals are not in favour of Yatra this year due to COVID scare.

Unlock 1.0: Delhi mosques ready to reopen

Delhi, Jun 07 (ANI): Sanitisation was done at Fatehpuri Masjid on June 07. Places of worship are set to reopen from June 08, after the Ministry of Home Affairs allowed the opening of places of worship with certain precautionary measures amid COVID-19 outbreak. All the worship places have to follow the guidelines given by the government in order to contain the spread of coronavirus.

Unlock 1.0: Temples across country set to reopen

New Delhi, Kollur (Karnataka), Jun 07 (ANI): Temples across the nation is all set to reopen from June 08. Sanitization work in temples is underway. Priests have urged devotees to not bring offerings to temples. Devotees have also been asked to wear masks while coming to the temple. Religious places across the country were closed after the outbreak of coronavirus pandemic. According to MHA guidelines, all religious places are allowed to open from June 08 across India.

Washington DC (USA), Jun 06 (ANI): Rahul Dubey, an Indian-American gave shelter to 70 protestors at his home in Washington DC. While talking to ANI, he said, "What I saw was nothing short of genocide. When that is happening, people getting clubbed on head, pepper-sprayed in back, it is just pure horror and terror that I can never even imagine". Vizag gas leak: Police arrests Left parties workers, FIR filed

Visakhapatnam (Andhra Pradesh), June 06 (ANI): Police arrested workers of Left parties in Andhra Pradesh's Visakhapatnam on June 05. The party workers were going to protest at LG Polymers industry where gas leak incident occurred on May 07. Around 13 persons were declared dead in the chemical gas leakage. The incident took place in RR Venkatapuram village of Visakhapatnam. Speaking to ANI, a police official said, "We arrested them as they hadn't taken permission for protest. FIR filed against 96 people of Left parties."

Textile market in Surat faces problem due to labour shortage

Surat (Gujarat), Jun 06(ANI): Owners of Surat Textile market faces problem due to shortage of labourers. There are lakhs of labourers from outside of Gujarat who work in these textile markets and are involved in stocking the sarees and dress materials in the godown and in loading the parcels, which are being sent to other states. So without the labourers the market cannot do anything. The owners demanded arrangements to call back workers from their hometowns. The shop owners are facing difficulties due to the shortage of labourers and hence they want to call them back, but are unable to do so as the workers fear their lives. These shop owners have written a letter to the Chief Minister asking for relaxations for the workers who want to return.

5 died, 57 injured in Bharuch chemical factory blast: District Collector

Bharuch (Gujarat), June 03 (ANI): At least 5 died and 57 others sustained injuries in a blast that happened at Yashashvi Rasayan Private Limited in Dahej Industrial Estate in Gujarat's Bharuch on June 03. Bharuch District Collector Dr MD Modiya said, "Today at 12 pm, a fire broke out following a blast in a tank at Yashashvi Rasayan Pvt Ltd in Dahej Industrial Estate of Bharuch. 11 fire tenders and ambulances rushed to the spot. Fire has been doused off. Five people lost their lives and 57 others sustained injuries. We have evacuated 4,800 people from two nearby villages, keeping in view that highly flammable chemicals have been stored at the company campus. An inquiry will be conducted in the incident."

Cyclone Nisarga: 1 lakh people evacuated from cyclone's path, says NDRF DG

New Delhi, June 03 (ANI): While speaking to ANI in Delhi on June 03, the Director General (DG) of National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), SN Pradhan spoke on measures being taken as landfall process of cyclone Nisarga began. He said, "About 43 National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) teams are deployed in the two states; of which 21 are in Maharashtra." "Nearly, 1 lakh people have been evacuated from the cyclone spot," NDRF DG added.

Security forces neutralize 3 terrorists in JandK's Pulwama

Nisarga has intensified into severe cyclonic storm: IMD

Mumbai, June 03 (ANI): With Cyclone Nisarga approaching Alibaug, India Meteorological Department (IMD) scientist, Shubhangi Bhute informed that Nisarga has turned into severe cyclonic storm. "Cyclone Nisarga has turned to severe cyclonic storm. The wind speed will be gusting to 110-120 mph. Raigarh, Mumbai, Thane, Palgadh district to witness heavy rainfall. Kaccha house, trees, poles might get damaged. Today around 1-3 pm it will strict at south of Alibag," said IMD scientist.

Palghar/ Mumbai (Maharashtra), June 03 (ANI): The sea beach in Kelwa village of Maharashtra's Palghar remains deserted due to the upcoming threat of cyclone Nisarga. The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) personnel have been deployed in the region. Cyclone Nisarga is expected to make landfall near Alibaug on June 03. According to India Meteorological Department (IMD), Cyclone Nisarga is approaching north Maharashtra coast with a speed of 13 kmph during past 6 hours. It is 155 km south-southwest of Alibaug and 200 km south-southwest of Mumbai. 5 trains that were to depart from Mumbai Terminal have been rescheduled, while 2 trains that were scheduled to arrive at Mumbai Terminal to be suitably regulated and one train has been diverted: Indian Railways.

Pregnant elephant lost its life allegedly after eating pineapple filled with crackers

Mallapuram (Kerala), June 03 (ANI): A pregnant elephant lost its life allegedly standing in water, after eating pineapples filled with crackers on May 27. Fruits with fire crackers were offered to her allegedly by some locals. The fruit exploded in her mouth, leading to the inevitable tragedy. The elephant eventually walked up to the Velliyar River and stood there with her mouth and trunk in water, perhaps for some relief from the unbearable pain. Local people informed the forest officials about the injured elephant. Doctors were present on the spot to carry out a post-mortem. The elephant was taken back inside the forest in a truck, where the forest officials cremated her. Forest official said, "We had called a doctor, but he was of the opinion that it might not be possible to revive back but we will see what all options we have."

Facebook Set to Unveil New Manage Activity Feature to Make Bulk-post Deleting Easier

New Delhi, June 03 (ANI): Facebook is set to unveil a new feature called 'Manage Activity' that lets users delete their old posts. According to The Verge, the new feature can be used to delete individual posts or in bulk, and Facebook says it will offer filtering options to help find posts with specific people in them or in a certain time range. The novel feature will be introduced to Facebook's mobile apps first. As per the social media tech company, the feature is meant "to make it easy for you to curate your presence on Facebook to more accurately reflect who you are today." However, there are a couple of different options available to remove a post from the timeline. One can send a post to the trash, where it will be removed from public viewing immediately but only permanently deleted 30 days later. The post can be manually deleted sooner. COVID-19: India far from peak, says ICMR

New Delhi, June 02 (ANI): Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) on June 02 said that the COVID-19 spread in the country is far away from the peak right now. "Instead of the use of the word 'community transmission', we need to understand the extent of the spread of the disease. We are far from the peak. Our measures to curtail the disease are effective. India has been very good in the reduction in mortality," said Nivedita Gupta, a senior scientist at ICMR, in a joint press conference with Health Ministry in New Delhi.
