After the Auraiya accident, Uttar Pradesh government has ordered its district magistrates to arrange buses for migrant workers. They are not allowed to go to their native places on foot.
New Delhi, May 17 (ANI): Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Sunday while unveiling the last and final tranche of the Rs 20 lakh crore COVID-19 economic package, announced by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi on May 12, announced figures of people benefitted through different schemes under PM Garib Kalyan package. She said, "One-time transfer of Rs 2,000 has reached 8.19 crore farmers, total amount Rs 16,394 crore. NSAP beneficiaries got Rs 1,405 crore in first instalment and Rs 1,402 crore in second instalment, target of Rs 3,000 crore nearly achieved." "20 crore Jan Dhan account holding women got Rs 10,025 crores. 2.2 crore building and construction workers got Rs 3,950 crores. 6.81 crore people got free LPG cylinders and12 lakh EPFO holders got online withdrawal of advance," she added.
Rishikesh (Uttarakhand), May 17 (ANI): Dehradun district administration is doing community surveillance with the help grassroot workers amid coronavirus pandemic. Accredited Social Health Activist (ASHA) workers, Anganwadi workers and government teachers are deputed to conduct daily door-to-door health surveillance of citizens in COVID-19 containment zones. They are conducting surveillance in Shiva Enclave and Awas Vikas colony of Uttarakhand's Rishikesh. While speaking to ANI, the District Magistrate of Dehradun, Dr Ashish Kumar Srivastava said, "The health status of residents of containment areas is monitored regularly. During house-to-house survey, we see if anyone has symptoms of cough, fever, etc. and their travel history. This helps us analyze their health status better." There are total 82 confirmed cases of coronavirus in Uttarakhand. According to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the total number of COVID-19 active cases rose to 53,035 with 2752 deaths in India.
Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh), May 17 (ANI): Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath held a meeting with 'Team-11' over COVID-19 situation in the state. UP Additional Chief Secretary Avinash Awasthi and other officials attended the meeting. Team-11 was constituted by CM Yogi to combat coronavirus efficiently. Total number of COVID-19 cases in UP stands at 4057, which includes 225 deaths so far.
New Delhi, May 17 (ANI): A special train carrying passengers from Ahmedabad arrived at New Delhi Railway Station (NDLS) on May 17. All passengers were screened after they reached the railway station, as per guidelines by the government. "We arrived here safely. I thanks railway for these arrangements," a passengers said. "We are very thankful to the railway department who has arranged all these things," another passenger said.
Nagpur (Maharashtra), May 17 (ANI): Migrant workers continue to travel by trucks to reach to their home states. Labourers hopped in a truck from Maharashtra's Nagpur on May 17 amid lockdown. While speaking to ANI, one of the labourers said, "Since the start of lockdown we have faced a number of problems. We wear masks all the time but maintaining social distancing is difficult while travelling like this." Collision between two trucks had claimed lives of 24 migrant workers in Uttar Pradesh's Auraiya on May 16.
Bhubaneswar (Odisha), May 17 (ANI): While speaking to media on May 17, the Director of IMD Bhubaneswar, HR Biswas spoke on Cyclone Amphan. He said, "Cyclone Amphan is likely to make landfall in between Sagar Islands (West Bengal) and Hatiya Islands (Bangladesh) during the afternoon or evening of May 20 as a very severe cyclonic storm."
Bhadrak (Odisha), May 17 (ANI): Teams of National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) have been deployed ahead of Cyclone Amphan, which is likely to make landfall in between Sagar Islands (West Bengal) and Hatiya Islands (Bangladesh) on May 20. The teams are gearing up for rescue and relief operation. 10 teams are deployed in Balasore, Bhadrak, Kendrapara, Puri, Jagatsinghpur, Jajpur and Mayurbhanj. Patna (Bihar), May 17 (ANI): Around five people got injured after an intoxicated bus driver hit bus into high voltage wire pole. The incident took place in Danapur town of Patna on May 16. The injured have been sent to hospital for medical treatment. The bus driver ran away from spot after the accident occurred. The investigation is underway and more details are awaited in this regard.

Surat (Gujarat), May 17 (ANI): A group of migrant workers was seen walking on foot in Gujarat's Surat amid coronavirus pandemic. They were walking towards their homes amid lockdown 3.0. Migrant workers were walking despite harsh summer in order to reach to their native places. While speaking to ANI, one of the migrant workers said, "I am from Sitamarhi district in Bihar. We don't have anything to eat, so we decided to go to our villages, at least we have a home there." There are total 9931 confirmed cases of coronavirus in Gujarat. East Godavari (Andhra Pradesh), May 17 (ANI): The gas pipeline of Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) plugged a minor leakage in Andhra Pradesh's East Godavari district on May 16. The incident took place in Turpupalem Village of Malikipuram town in East Godavari district. Locals immediately informed the police and ONGC officials about the gas leakage. Malikipuram Sub Inspector Nagaraju told ANI, "The gas leak started at around 06:00 pm. ONGC technicians rushed to the spot and closed down all the wells immediately. After that, they brought the situation under control by reducing pressure. 95% of leakage is prevented. But sporadic leaks are occurring. Overall situation is under control. Technicians are still at work. Cause of leakage is not known yet."

Ramban (JandK), May 17 (ANI): A man died and two got injured after landslide occurred at Jammu-Srinagar National Highway-44 on May 16. Around six vehicles were buried under massive landslide in Seri village of JandK's Ramban district. The injured were admitted in District Hospital of Ramban for medical treatment. According to police sources, the dead man was identified as 52-year-old, Banarasi Lal. He was taken out from debris in an unconscious condition by the volunteers of Quick Response Team (QRT).

The users will now be able to delete negative comments in bulk and the users will also be able to block or restrict multiple accounts, Mashable reported. iOS users can turn on the feature by tapping on the comment and then clicking on the dotted icon placed in the top right corner. After that, the iOS users will need to select the Manage Comments option and they can select upto 25 comments to delete simultaneously. In order to curb bullying, Instagram is also rolling out some controls to manage the tags and mentions a user receives on the platform.
