Kollam (Kerala), May 14 (ANI): A family in Kerala's Kollam woke up to a surprise. They found a gigantic jackfruit growing in their backyard. It weighs 51.4 kg approximately. Kollam family has now applied for Guinness World Records. The previous set record for heaviest jackfruit stands at 42.7 kg.

'Happy to be back', says passenger after returning to Jammu via special train

Jammu, May 14 (ANI): A special train carrying passengers from New Delhi Railway Station (NDLS) arrived at Jammu Tawi Railway Station, on May 14. A passenger said, "I was stranded in Delhi since last two months. I am very happy to be back." Indian Railways started services of limited passenger trains with guidelines amid COVID-19 lockdown. Services of 15 pairs of special air-conditioned trains have been restarted.

Passengers coming from Ahmedabad screened at NDLS

New Delhi, May 14 (ANI): On third day of resumption of train services, another special train carrying passengers from Ahmedabad arrived at New Delhi railway station this morning. A passenger said, "All arrangements were very good. I am happy to be back." Ensuring all norms, passengers were screened at the station. 8 migrants dead, 50 injured in road accident in MP

Guna (Madhya Pradesh), May 14 (ANI): At least 8 labourers died and around 50 injured after a truck they were travelling in, collided with a bus in Cantt PS area in Guna last night. Injured persons were shifted to district hospital. All the 8 labourers who died were going to their native places in UP from Maharashtra.

Bus runs over labourers heading to Bihar on foot, 6 dead

Muzaffarnagar (UP), May 14 (ANI): At least six migrant labourers died after a bus ran over them in Muzaffarnagar. Workers were returning to Bihar from Punjab on foot. Several others have received severe injuries. Injured were taken to the hospital immediately after the incident was reported. A case has been registered against unknown bus driver.

'Excited to see my family', says passenger after reaching Hyderabad via special train

Hyderabad (Telangana), May 14 (ANI): A special train carrying passengers from Delhi has reached Secunderabad Railway Station on May 13 amid coronavirus pandemic. The passengers were screened and stamped for home quarantine, with indelible ink, after reaching at the railway station. Indian Railways has resumed services of special air-conditioned trains from May 12 amid lockdown 3.0. While speaking to ANI, one of the passengers Mahesh said, "It was a good journey. I am very excited to see my family. I am going home after six months." There are total 1326 confirmed cases of coronavirus in Telangana. According to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the total number of COVID-19 active cases rose to 47, 480 with 2415 deaths in India.

Guwahati (Assam), May 14 (ANI): A special train carrying passengers from Delhi has reached Guwahati Railway Station amid coronavirus pandemic. New Delhi-Dibrugarh special train reached at Guwahati on May 13. The passengers were screened after reaching at the railway station. Circles are also being made at railway station to ensure social distancing norms being followed among all the passengers. Indian Railways has resumed services of special air-conditioned trains from May 12 amid lockdown 3.0. COVID-19: 2 flights of Kuwait Airways arrive in Indore

Indore (Madhya Pradesh), May 14 (ANI): Two flights of Kuwait Airways landed at Devi Ahilyabai Holkar Airport in Madhya Pradesh's Indore on May 13. The flights carried 117 passengers each from Kuwait. While speaking to ANI, the Airport Director of Indore, Aryama Sanyal said, "Two flights of Kuwait airways have come today. Each flight carried around 117 passengers and they came to Indore from Kuwait. Now, they have just left for Bhopal for quarantine." Speaking to ANI, the Nodal Officer of Indore, Dr Amit Malakar said, "Two flights came from Kuwait and according to Air India both flights carried 117 passengers each. The screening of passengers was done through thermal sensor gun and their oxygen situation level was also checked. We haven't found any passenger yet who is symptomatic." Combination of fasting, vitamin C effective on hard-to-treat cancers, suggests study

New Delhi, May 14 (ANI): A fasting-mimicking diet could be more effective at treating some types of cancer when combined with vitamin C, suggests a new study conducted by the scientists from USC and the IFOM Cancer Institute in Milan. In studies on mice, researchers found that the combination delayed tumour progression in multiple mouse models of colorectal cancer; in some mice, it caused disease regression. The results were published in the journal Nature Communications. The researchers said that while fasting remains a challenging option for cancer patients, a safer, more feasible option is a low-calorie, plant-based diet that causes cells to respond as if the body were fasting. Their findings suggest that a low-toxicity treatment of fasting-mimicking diet plus vitamin C has the potential to replace more toxic treatments. Twitter now makes it easier to watch quote tweets on iOS

New Delhi, May 14 (ANI): In a respite for users, Twitter has added a new way to see how many people have retweeted a tweet. However, it is available on the iOS version of the app right now. The new feature is going to organise all of the retweets with comments into a handy list, the Verge reported. To access this feature, the user will be required to tap on a tweet and then click on the word "Retweets." The user will then be able to see retweets broken out into two columns-- ones commenting on the retweet (or a quote tweet) and a list of retweets with no comment. This feature will be rolled out for web app and Android in the coming weeks.

COVID-19: Rapid PCR test of 7 people found positive in Goa, says CM Sawant

Amritsar (Punjab), May 14 (ANI): Air India Express special flight landed at Sri Guru Ramdass Jee International Airport in Punjab's Amritsar. The flight carried 177 passengers from Dubai. The stranded Indian nationals across the globe are being brought back to their home country under Centre's Vande Bharat Mission. The buses for all the passengers have been arranged by the state government. Officials of LG Polymers from South Korea visit Visakhapatnam gas leakage spot

Cruel blow to migrant workers: Chidambaram on Sitharaman's COVID-19 stimulus
