Jabalpur (Madhya Pradesh), May 07 (ANI): Rose cultivation becomes difficult for farmers in Madhya Pradesh's Jabalpur amid coronavirus pandemic. Flower farmers are facing problems due to lockdown and lack of labourers. Their businesses have slumped amid COVID-19 lockdown. While speaking to ANI, one of the farmers, Nawal said, "We could not get labourers and items like pesticides, so plants are getting damaged. I have suffered loss of Rs 4-4.5 lakhs. It will take three months for plants to recover." There are total 3138 confirmed cases of coronavirus in Madhya Pradesh. According to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the total number of COVID-19 active cases rose to 35, 902 with 1783 deaths in India.

8 died in Vizag gas leak mishap, investigation underway: Andhra Pradesh DGP

Amaravati (Andhra Pradesh), May 07 (ANI): While speaking to ANI in Amaravati on May 07, the DGP of Andhra Pradesh, Damodar Goutam Sawang spoke on Visakhapatnam gas leak tragedy. He said, "8 persons have died till now in the gas leak mishap. Right now gas has been neutralized. One of the antidotes is drinking a lot of water. Around 800 were shifted to hospital, many have been discharged. Investigation will be carried out to see how this happened." "Gas leak is an accident. They were strictly following all the protocols. Investigation is underway. Forensic teams are also being sent to the spot," Andhra Pradesh DGP added.

Andhra gas leak: Around 800-1000 people admitted in hospital, says NDRF DG

New Delhi, May 07 (ANI): While speaking to ANI in the national capital on May 07, the DG of National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), SN Pradhan spoke on Visakhapatnam gas leak tragedy. He said, "This incident was reported by the local population at around 02:30 am late in the night. They faced throat and skin related issues with some toxic smell. NDRF was informed at 05:00-05:30 am in the morning. They reached within half an hour and started the operation." "Gas leakage has died down and most of the operation is now limited to evacuation and treatment of people in the hospital. 800-1000 people were admitted to the hospital," NDRF DG added.

Migrant workers walk on Mumbai-Nashik highway, demand arrangements to go back home

Mumbai, May 07(ANI): Amid lockdown 3.0, migrant workers are walking on Mumbai-Nashik highway towards their native places from Mumbai. One of the migrants, Preeti Kumari, who is going to her home in Uttar Pradesh's Jaunpur said, "I don't have money. How will I feed my child here? We have to walk, we don't have any other option." Another migrant worker said that bus drivers are asking for us Rs 2-3 lakh for 25-30 people.

LG Polymers industry should be responsible for Andhra gas leak mishap: Industries Minister Reddy

Hyderabad, May 07 (ANI): While speaking to ANI in Hyderabad on May 07, the Minister of Industries and Commerce in Andhra Pradesh government, Mekapati Goutham Reddy spoke on Visakhapatnam gas leakage tragedy. He said, "After gas leakage was reported in the factory, lockdown procedure was initiated immediately. Local administration was informed. Gas was neutralized to harmless liquid form. But, little gas escaped factory premises and affected people in nearby areas." "Company managing this has to be responsible for gas leak mishap. They will have to come and explain us exactly what all protocols were followed, and what all were not followed. Accordingly, criminal action will be taken against them," Industries Minister added.

He said, "The total number of positive cases in Delhi stands at 5532, of which 428 cases were reported yesterday. Total 12 patients are on ventilators. Visakhapatnam DC visits hospital to meet patients affected by gas leak

Visakhapatnam (Andhra Pradesh), May 07 (ANI): The District Collector (DC) of Visakhapatnam, V Vinay Chand visited hospital where people affected by Vizag gas leak are being treated. He met patients at King George Hospital of Visakhapatnam. There have been seven casualties so far in the gas leak tragedy. MK Stalin holds protest against opening of state-run liquor shops in Chennai

Ludhiana (Punjab), May 07(ANI): Disappointed by state government's decision of opening liquor shops, free milk supply was organised by Youth Akali Dal members outside a liquor shop in Ludhiana. He said, "Mandir, Masjid are closed and liquor stores are open, what can be worse than this. Punjab is known for milk, curd and butter not for drugs. TASMAC wine shops reopened amid lockdown 3.0, police take precautions to avoid chaos

Pamban/Chennai/Madurai (Tamil Nadu), May 07(ANI): Amid lockdown 3.0 and followed relaxations, government-run TASMAC wine shops were reopened from May 07. To avoid overcrowding and chaos, police has taken multiple precautionary measures. Barricades were put up outside wine shops in Pamban to avoid the chaos. Gas has been neutralized, FIR registered: Visakhapatnam CP on Andhra gas leak incident

Visakhapatnam (Andhra Pradesh), May 07 (ANI): While speaking to ANI, the Police Commissioner of Visakhapatnam City, Rajeev Kumar Meena said, "Gas has been neutralized. NDRF team has reached the spot. Maximum impact was in about 1-1.5 kms but smell was till 2-2.5 kms. 100-120 people have been shifted to hospital. Total three persons have died in the incident. An FIR has been registered." A chemical gas leakage has been reported in Andhra Pradesh's Visakhapatnam on May 07. The incident took place at LG Polymers industry in RR Venkatapuram village of Visakhapatnam. According to the District Medical and Health Officer (DMHO), 3 persons, including one child were declared dead due to the chemical gas leakage. People were being taken to hospital after they complained of burning sensation in eyes and breathing difficulties. Police, fire tenders and ambulances reached the spot. More details are awaited in this regard.
