First death post Covid vaccination: Reason & an advice you shouldn't ignore

India confirmed the first death related to Covid-19 vaccination in the report on causality assessment of adverse events following immunisation (AEFI). The death of a 68-year old man who received a Covishield shot on March 8 and died due to anaphylaxis (severe allergic reaction) was classified as ‘vaccine product-related reaction’ by the National AEFI Committee. Indian Army assists COVID vaccination drive in remote villages of JandK's Baramulla

Baramulla (JandK), June 9 (ANI): Indian Army in collaboration with Civil Administration and Local Med and healthcare authorities organized vaccination camps as well as logistically supported the Frontline Healthcare to carryout vaccination drives to the villages close to the Line of Control (LOC). Mumbai hospital to make paediatric wards for 3rd COVID wave

Mumbai, June 09 (ANI): Considering 3rd wave Dean of BKC Jumbo Hospital Dr Rajesh Dere on June 9 said that they had already got instructions to make paediatric wards with minimum 100 beds in each COVID centre. Dean of BKC Jumbo Hospital Rajesh said, "As far as 3rd wave is concerned, we've already got instructions to make paediatric wards with minimum 100 beds in each COVID centre. BKC has discharged 26,000 COVID patients so far and no mucormycosis case has been notified among them yet."

Union Cabinet approves hike in MSP for kharif crops

New Delhi, June 09 (ANI): Union Cabinet has approved Minimum Support Price (MSP) for kharif crops for marketing season 2021-22. While addressing a press conference in Delhi, Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar on June said, "Cabinet has approved MSP for kharif crops for marketing season 2021-22. Highest absolute increase in MSP over the previous year has been recommended for sesame (Rs 452 per quintal) followed by Toor and Urad pulses (Rs 300 per quintal each)."

Cabinet announces allocation of 5 megahertz spectrum for Railways

New Delhi, June 09 (ANI): To boost Railways network in the country, Union Cabinet on June 09 announced to provide 5 megahertz spectrum in 700 MHz band. While addressing a press conference in Delhi, Union Minister of Information and Broadcasting, Prakash Javadekar said, 'Railways will be provided with 5 megahertz spectrum in 700 MHz band. It will improve its communication system and make rail travel safer. Railway currently uses optical fiber. With the availability of spectrum, there will be radio communication.''Rs 25,000 crores will be spent in the next 5 years for signal modernization and 5G spectrum implementation in Railways,'he added.

7 patients die due to alleged oxygen shortage in Agra hospital

Munmun Sarkar, first woman e-rickshaw driver in North Bengal, provides free service to COVID patients

Siliguri (West Bengal) June 08 (ANI): Amid difficult times of the COVID-19 pandemic when the ambulance drivers are charging hefty amounts to ferry patients infected with the virus, Munmun Sarkar, a 49-year-old woman and resident of Siliguri's Saktigarh, has extended a helping hand to the sufferers. Munmun, the first woman e-rickshaw driver in North Bengal, turned her e-rickshaw into an ambulance. She has been providing 24 hours, free-of-cost rides to COVID-19 patients. "Last year during the time of COVID-19 pandemic, ambulance drivers were taking too much money from the family members of the COVID-19 patients. At that time I decided to turn my e-rickshaw into an ambulance and started ferrying COVID positive patients in free of cost." she said, She also drops them back to their homes in her e-rickshaw. Munmun even sanitizes the homes of COVID-19 patients, and places like police stations, crematoriums, and religious places.
