Bengaluru cab association initiates online protest, demands Govt's assistance

Bengaluru, Apr 29 (ANI): President of Ola Uber Drivers and Owners Association, T Pasha informed that an online protest 'selfie with empty vessels' have been started as coronavirus lockdown has affected lives of drivers. "We've started an online protest 'selfie with empty vessels' because today drivers have only empty vessels at homes. Govt should've given a thought about what hardships coronavirus lockdown will cause to daily wage earners," said T Pasha, Pres Ola Uber Drivers and Owners Association.

Chandigarh Police develops special device to catch lockdown violators while maintaining social distancing

Chandigarh (Haryana), Apr 28 (ANI): The VIP Security wing of Chandigarh Police has invented a "lockdown breaker" to catch lockdown violators while maintaining social distancing during Covid-19 outbreak.The DSP Amrao Singh along with his team headed by Chandigarh Head Constable Gurdeep Singh developed a device that is made by steel and with a 5 feet length to capture the lockdown violators without coming in contact with them. The idea came in after a video of a lady spitting on police constable went viral.

Plight of Pakistani refugees in Delhi in time of lockdown

New Delhi, Apr 28(ANI): Pakistani Refugees living in refugee camp near Signature Bridge are facing multiple problems amid corona outbreak and nationwide lockdown. They are getting dry ration from different organisations as well as food items from Delhi government but are lacking basic necessity of light and water supply. Since the camp is based in jungles on the bank of river Yamuna near Delhi's iconic signature bridge, they have to travel at least one kilometre for necessary items. They claim that wild animals and some insects have become a threat for them. Some 5-10 people among them keep vigil throughout the night. There is no electricity and due to it, they are facing many problems in night.

Fishing businesses in Goa get badly hit by lockdown

Panaji (GOA), Apr 28(ANI): Goa boat owners association demands relief fund from government as they are badly hit by lockdown. All Goa Purse Seine Boat Owners Association President, Harshad Dhond told ANI that because of seven storms, the fishing business in Goa was almost finished, as there were not much fishing activities. "After that we did little bit of fishing but this corona lockdown was implemented," he added. "We are facing financial crunch, we are not able to give salaries and we are unable to meet our day to day expenses," said Harshad Dhond.

Speaking on it, Atul Kumar Chaubey, Circle Officer, Anoopshahr, said, "Accused (Murari) has been arrested and sent to judicial custody. Weapon used in the crime has been recovered. Post-mortem of the bodies has been done. Their last rites will be performed as per the custom."

No evidence that plasma therapy can be used for COVID-19 treatment: Health Ministry

New Delhi, Apr 28(ANI): Health Ministry Joint Secretary Lav Agarwal informed that plasma therapy is being experimented, however no evidence that this can be used as a treatment. "National level study launched by ICMR to study efficacy," he added. He said that until ICMR concluded its study and a robust scientific proof is available, plasma therapy should be used only for research or trial purpose. "If plasma therapy is not used in proper manner under proper guideline then it can also cause life threatening complications," he added.

COVID-19 recovery rate in India improves to 23.3 percent : Lav Agarwal

New Delhi, Apr 28(ANI): Health ministry Joint Secretary Lav Agarwal informed that with 1543 new cases in the last 24 hours, the total COVID-19 positive cases in the country are now 29,435. He said that 684 patients have been cured in last 24 hours. "Our recovery rate is now 23.3 percent . This is a progressive increase in recovery rate," he added. Lav Agarwal further informed that 17 districts have not reported any case in the last 28 days, where COVID-19 cases were found previously.

Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh), Apr 28 (ANI): During a press conference held in Lucknow on April 28, Uttar Pradesh's Additional Chief Secretary (Home) Awanish K Awasthi informed that each house of hotspot areas will be sanitized amid coronavirus outbreak. He said, "Uttar Pradesh Chief Minsiter, Yogi Adityanath has instructed that each house of hotspot areas will be sanitized. CM also instructed to send senior officers to Varanasi, Rampur and Hapur. Women self-help groups are asked to give the task of making masks to empower them. CM has instructed that arrangements for quarantine centers and shelter sites to be ensured in each district."

Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh), Apr 28 (ANI): During a press conference held in Lucknow on April 28, Uttar Pradesh's Additional Chief Secretary (Home) Awanish K Awasthi informed that more than 50 buses have left for the students to send to their native places as of now. He said, "CM had directed to send students from Prayagraj to their native places, yesterday. Buses have started to send these students. 300 buses have been arranged and as of now, more than 50 buses have left with the students. It is an ongoing process. All the students will have their health check-ups done by the government as it is the need of the hour."

They provide them with food including bananas and 'grams' on daily basis. Lucknow Central, ADCP, Chiranjeev Nath Sinha said that we all have a role to play in the biosphere. He said, "Apart from being police officers we are human too and therefore we think we should do something for these animals too." He further said that this gives them satisfaction and therefore they feed the stray animals on daily basis.
