President Trump was accompanied by family and UP CM Yogi Adityanath. He was also seen signing on the visitor's book. Earlier today, President Trump and PM Modi addressed a public gathering at Motera stadium in Ahmedabad. He is in India for a two-day visit.

Sunni Waqf Board accepts 5-acre land near Ayodhya to build mosque

Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh), Feb 24 (ANI): Sunni Central Board of Waqf on February 24 accepted the five-acre land near Ayodhya to build mosque. The Chairman of Sunni Waqf Board, Zufar Ahmad Farooqui said, "It has been decided in meeting to accept the 5-acre land given by government. A trust will be formed. The trust, along with mosque, will construct other things such as a centre that represents Indo-Islamic culture, a research centre, charitable hospital, public library and other things for public utilities." The details of the trust will be announced after the formation of the trust. Sunni Waqf Board was allotted a 5-acre land in Dhannipur village after Supreme Court's verdict on Ayodhya dispute.

Sharjeel Imam further sent to 4-day police custody

Guwahati (Assam), Feb 24 (ANI): Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) student, Sharjeel Imam was sent to 4-days custody of Assam Police on February 24. Sharjeel was produced at Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) court today. A case has been registered against Sharjeel for alleged seditious comments on cutting off Assam from India. He was produced before court after his earlier 4-day custody got over.

Clash between pro, anti-CAA groups continues in Delhi's Jafrabad

Sensex crashes by 800 points amid coronavirus fears, metal stocks plunge

New Delhi, Feb 24 (ANI): Equity benchmark indices closed nearly 2 per cent lower on Monday as the spread of coronavirus outside China spooked global markets. The virus claiming 2,442 lives in China has spread to 28 other countries with investors grappling to assess its impact on economic growth. The BSE S-P Sensex closed 807 points or 1.96 per cent lower at 40,363 while the Nifty 50 cracked by 242 points or 2.01 per cent to 11,839. All sectoral indices at the National Stock Exchange were in the red with Nifty metal down by 5.36 per cent, auto by 3.51 per cent, pharma by 3.09 per cent and realty by 2.16 per cent.

Srinagar (JandK), Feb 24 (ANI): Schools in Srinagar reopened on February 24 after nearly seven months. The schools got reopened in Valley after the abrogation of Article 370. School kids were excited to attend the school again. All arrangements had been put in place for the students to attend schools after the institutions remained shut for months since August after scrapping of its special status and due to winter break. The government had made several efforts last year to reopen the schools in a phased manner but it failed to bear any fruit as the parents kept their wards at home due to apprehension about their safety.
