New Delhi, Feb 17 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressing the 13th Convention on Conservation of Migratory Species in Gandhinagar via video conference informed India has achieved its target of doubling the number of tigers two years before the committed date of 2022. "India is one of the most diverse countries of the world. With 2.4 percent of world's land area, it contributes about 8 percent of the known global biodiversity. At present, India has a population of almost 2,970 tigers. India has achieved its target of doubling the number of tigers two years before the committed date of 2022," said PM Modi.

Gwalior (Madhya Pradesh), Feb 17 (ANI): While speaking to media in Madhya Pradesh's Gwalior on February 16, Congress leader Jyotiraditya Scindia spoke on his statement 'we'll get on roads if election manifesto promises will not be fulfilled'. He said, "I am a worker of the people and fighting for issues which concern public is my 'dharm'. We will have to keep patience and will also have to fulfill the promises which we had made in our manifesto." "If this is not done then, we will have to come out on road for protest," Scindia added. 2 criminals killed in encounter by Delhi Police Special Cell

New Delhi, Feb 17 (ANI): Two criminals were killed in an encounter with police in the national capital on February 17. Raja Qureshi and Ramesh Bahadur were killed by Delhi Police Special Cell at around 05:00 am. The two criminals were wanted in multiple cases of crime, the most recent being a murder case in Karawal Nagar. The encounter took place at Pul Prahladpur area of Delhi. 13th Mega Marathon organised to make Imphal healthy city

The 13th Mega Marathon was conducted under Athletic Association of Manipur where thousands of people participated with zeal. The marathon began from Khuman Lampak Hockey Stadium of Imphal. It was organized with the motive to help youths in abstaining from drugs and to make Manipur a healthy state. The winners in marathon were rewarded with cash prize of Rs 40,000, Rs 30,000 and Rs 20,000 respectively. The consolation prize of Rs 3,000 was also awarded to 13 participants from each category.

For the first time ever, a seat reserved for a deity in Kashi Mahakal Express

Varanasi (UP), Feb 17 (ANI): For the first-time ever, the Kashi Mahakal Express train has been turned into a mini-temple for Lord Shiva. Seat number 64 of coach B5 in the train was reserved and left vacant for deity. The train was flagged off by Prime Minister Narendra Modi via video-conferencing on February 16. The train will cover 1,131 km between Varanasi and Indore via Lucknow and a distance of 1,102 km between Varanasi and Indore via Prayagraj (Allahabad) in approximately 19 hours.
