BJP workers also came forward to extend their support. Delhi assembly elections will be held on February 08, while counting of votes will take place on Feb 11.

Terrorists attack check-post in Srinagar, 1 CPRF personnel dead

Srinagar (JandK), Feb 05 (ANI): Terrorists attacked at a check-post in Srinagar's Parimpora on February 05. In the attack, one Central Reserve Police Force (CPRF) jawan has lost his life. Two terrorists have been neutralized. Arms and ammunitions were recovered. More details are awaited.

Around 20 terrorists neutralised this year: JandK DGP Dilbag Singh

Srinagar, Feb 05 (ANI): Jammu and Kashmir's Director General of Police (DGP) Dilbag Singh held a press conference after terrorists attacked at a check-post in Srinagar's Parimpora where two terrorists were killed and one jawan lost his life on February 05. Singh informed that two terrorists were killed and one terrorist was injured on Srinagar-Baramulla road, after they fired at police and CRPF party deployed there. The DGP said, "Around 20 terrorists have been neutralised so far this year."

PM Modi inaugurates DefExpo 2020 in Lucknow

Lucknow (UP), Feb 05 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on February 05 inaugurated the Defence Expo 2020 in Uttar Pradesh's Lucknow. He was accompanied by Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Uttar Pradesh's Governor Anandiben Patel and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. The theme of DefExpo 2020 is 'Digital Transformation of Defence.' The expo aims to bring the leading technologies in the defence sector under one roof and provide a myriad of opportunities for private manufactures, government, startups. The event is scheduled to be held from 5-9 February in Lucknow.

Gaje Singh further said, "No one is connected with AAP in my family. My son was annoyed over Shaheen Bagh's traffic congestion. My son supports PM Modi. He is 'sevak' of PM Modi and Amit Shah.

Delhi HC rejects centre's plea demanding separate execution of Nirbhaya's convicts

New Delhi, Feb 05 (ANI): Delhi High Court has rejected centre's plea which demanded separate execution of the 2012 Delhi gang-rape convicts on February 05. Convicts' lawyer, AP Singh said, "Delhi High Court rejected centre's demand of separate execution of the 2012 Delhi gang-rape convicts. Delhi High Court gave all four convicts one week to resort to all legal remedies available to them. One cannot bury justice in hurry. If they planned to kill four people and want to do 'government killing', then they have to keep patience."

Delhi polls: Arvind Kejriwal invites Amit Shah for a debate with him

New Delhi, Feb 05 (ANI): Chief Minister of Delhi, Arvind Kejriwal, on February 05 invited Union Home Minister Amit Shah for a debate with him. In a press conference here on Feb 05, Kejriwal said, "People of Delhi want to know the Chief Minister candidate from BJP. Do not tell me a candidate, who can be the likely candidates? Vijay Goel, Harsh Vardhan, Manoj Tiwari, Smriti Irani - who is in the competition? People of Delhi want the answers of all these questions. The debate should happen in an open field. 5 IIITs, running through PPP, declared Institutes of National Importance: Govt

New Delhi, Feb 05 (ANI): While addressing a press conference in national capital, Union Minister of Information and Broadcasting, Prakash Javadekar on February 05 said the Union Cabinet today approved Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs) Laws (Amendment) Bill, 2020. Adding on it, he further said that five IIITs, running through PPP mode, in Surat, Bhopal, Bhagalpur, Agartala and Raichur have been declared as Institutes of National Importance.

Lok Sabha: PM Modi announces setup of trust for construction of Ram temple in Ayodhya

New Delhi, Feb 05 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on February 05 said in Lok Sabha that the Union Cabinet has given its nod to set up a trust for the construction of a Ram temple in Ayodhya. "The Trust 'Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Tirth Kshetra' will have the full hand to build the Ram temple," the PM further said in his speech. On November 9 last year, the Supreme Court green lighted the construction of a temple at the disputed site in Ayodhya.

Double the punishment of Shaheen Bagh shooter if he is connected to AAP: Kejriwal

New Delhi, Feb 05 (ANI): Chief Minister of Delhi, Arvind Kejriwal said Home Minister should not do politics with the security of the country after pictures of Shaheen Bagh shooter Kapil Gujjar came out with AAP leaders. "I don't know about his political connection but he deserves tough punishment. And, if by chance he is anyhow connected to Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), double his punishment. There should not be any compromise with the security of the country. I would also like to tell same to our Home Minister that he should not do politics with the security of the country. He brought his police in front of media exactly before 48 hours of elections, citizens of this country are not fool. They understand what your intensions are. Do whatever you want to do, do not mess with the security of the country. The nation is not going to tolerate this. Those who are messing with country's security should receive tough punishment," CM Kejriwal said here in a press conference held on February 05.

5 dead after car fell into canal in UP's Kannauj

Greater Noida (Uttar Pradesh), Feb 05 (ANI): The 15th edition of Auto Expo 2020 once again made a grand entry at the India Expo Mart in Greater Noida. The 2020 edition as well witnessed launch of exclusively cars and motorbikes. Maruti Suzuki unveiled 'Futuro-e concept' at the Auto Expo. After 23 years, Brihadisvara Temple decked up for 6th consecration ceremony

Thanjavur (Tamil Nadu), Feb 05 (ANI): The 1,000-year-old Brihadisvara Temple in Thanjavur is all decked up for its 6th Kumbhabhishekham (consecration) ceremony. The consecration ceremony will be organised at the temple after a long gap of 23 years. Numbers of devotees will attend the ceremony. The temple, which is being maintained by the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI), is being renovated with a fresh coat of paint and other restructuring work. Last consecration ceremony was organised in 1997, a where a massive fire was engulfed that caused numerous deaths and eventually, the consecration ceremony was not celebrated there until now.
