Left organisation pre-planned JNU violence: Prakash Javadekar

New Delhi, Jan 11 (ANI): Union Minister for Information and Broadcasting Prakash Javadekar hit out at Left organisations alleging that they pre-planned the violence which took place in JNU on January 05. "Today's police press conference established that for the last five days, the chorus that was created deliberately to blame ABVP, and others, that wasn't true. It is the Left organisations that pre-planned violence, disabled CCTV and destroyed server," said Prakash Javadekar.

Voting begins in Taiwan for 2020 general elections

New Delhi, Jan 11 (ANI): Voters in Taiwan are lining up outside polling stations to elect next president and parliament members on Jan 11. Polling stations opened at 8 am and will close at 4 pm (08:00 GMT). Results are likely to be declared about four hours after the polls close. President Tsai Ing-wen is seeking her second term. According to Taiwan's Central Election Commission, there are 19.3 million eligible voters. Citizens are eligible to vote starting at the age of 20.

HD Kumaraswamy demands formation of House Committee to probe into Mangaluru violence

He said, "I demand this government to constitute a House Committee, we've to bring facts before people." At least two persons were killed in the alleged police firing in Mangaluru after protests against the Citizenship Amendment Act turned violent.

Kannauj accident: Forensic team visits spot

Kannauj (UP), Jan 11 (ANI): In the latest development in Uttar Pradesh's Kannauj bus accident, Kanpur Range Inspector General Mohit Agarwal along with forensic team visited the spot. After inspecting the scene of the bus accident, IG Agarwal said, "Around 45 people were in the bus. 25 people were rescued, 12 of them admitted at Medical College Tirwa and 11 at District hospital; 2 people were completely safe and were sent home. 18-20 are missing, maybe they died but it is not certain yet," "The bodies are badly burned, their bones are scattered,so only a DNA test will determine the death toll. Prima facie bodies of 8-10 people seem to be on the bus but the damage is so extensive that casualties can be determined only through DNA test." US school students can now use Google Pay as campus ID

New Delhi, Jan 11 (ANI): Students and faculty members from 15 schools across the US will be able to use Google Pay as their campus ID. Billing and payment services company called Transact has launched the feature that allows users to save school IDs to their Google Pay app, Engadget notes. The feature is currently supported on Android devices. Users have to simply tap their Android phone to an NFCreader to access residential areas or labs, and pay bills for laundry or dining on campus.

Kannauj (UP), Jan 11 (ANI): Twenty-one people were injured after a bus collided with a truck on GT road here on January 10. After the collision, the bus carrying over 40 passengers caught fire. People injured in the accident have been shifted to hospital. Chhibramau MLA Archana Pandey visited hospital and took cognisance of the injured people. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had taken cognisance of the bus accident took place in Kannauj. Jammu, Jan 10 (ANI): Vietnam's Ambassador to India, Pham Sanh Chau, visited Jammu and Kashmir on January 10. Speaking to ANI, Sanh Chau asserted that the situation in the Union Territory is normal and people are very happy in the valley. "I see normalcy in daily life of the people, which is a very positive sign. We have interacted with different groups and feeling from those groups is that they are very happy with the current situation," said Pham Sanh Chau. "We are not a fact finding delegation and not the judges of international court. We don't have that mandate, so we just came and observed and have assessment of our own. I see signs of happiness on faces of people when I talk to them," he further added.
