Kerala nun pens autobiography, outlines 'sexual abuse, harassment by bishops'

Wayanad (Kerala), Dec 03 (ANI): Sister Lucy Kalappura, one of the nuns who protested against rape-accused Bishop Franco Mulakkal, on Monday said that her autobiography titled 'Karthaavinte Naamathil' (in the name of the Lord) also states the sexual abuses from priests and bishops -- a fact which everybody knows but is silent about. Speaking to ANI about the book, she said, "It is about life experiences and sexual abuse and harassment of nuns by priests and bishops -- a fact which everybody knows but is silent about." "I had started writing it in 2004-05 because during the period of 2000-03 I had a bitter experience - mental torture from the congregation. I thought it will be better to keep a record of all that. So I started to write little by little," Sister Lucy said. In January this year, she was served the first warning letter by the Superior General of the Congregation, followed by two more in February and March for violating the vow of obedience. Facebook's new tool lets you move your pictures to Google Photos

New Delhi, Dec 03 (ANI): Facebook has launched a new data portability tool that allows you to move your data between services. In its official blog, Facebook notes that the first tool from its Data Transfer Project is a photo transfer tool that will allow Facebook users to transfer their photos and videos on the platform directly to other services. The photo transfer tool will come with support for Google Photos in its initial phase. It is rolling out today and will be first available to people in Ireland, with worldwide availability in the first half of 2020.

NSG Mumbai carries out mock drill near Shirdi Saibaba Temple

Shirdi (Maharashtra), Dec 03 (ANI): The National Security Guard (NSG) of Mumbai conducted mock drill near Shirdi Saibaba Temple. The mock drill was conducted at a hotel. The drill lasted for an hour and a total of 40 commandos took part in it. The aim of the drill was to prepare commandos at foiling a terror attack. New Delhi, Dec 03 (ANI): Brushing teeth daily not only helps in maintaining good dental health but is also beneficial for the heart, says a recent study. Brushing teeth frequently is linked with lower risks of atrial fibrillation and heart failure, according to a study published today in the -- European Journal of Preventive Cardiology. Previous research suggests that poor oral hygiene leads to bacteria in the blood, causing inflammation in the body. Inflammation increases the risks of atrial fibrillation (irregular heartbeat) and heart failure (the heart's ability to pump blood or relax and fill with blood is impaired). This study examined the connection between oral hygiene and the occurrence of these two conditions. The retrospective cohort study enrolled 161,286 participants of the Korean National Health Insurance System aged 40 to 79 with no history of atrial fibrillation or heart failure. Hyderabad rape-murder case: Doctors hold protest in Patna

Bharti Airtel's hiked tariffs to be effective from Dec 3
