Tis Hazari Court violence: Police protests leads to traffic slowdown at Delhi's ITO

New Delhi, Nov 05 (ANI): Traffic got affected at ITO area due to protest of Delhi Police at the Headquarters on November 05. Despite several urges of top cops to resume duty, protesting personnel have refused to vacate the roads outside the Police Headquarters. The protest comes as a response to the parking row between police officials and lawyers that happened on Saturday (November 02) at the Tis Hazari Court complex.

While addressing, he said that the country has produced many great scientists. "Our history makes us proud and our present is also largely influenced by science," said Modi. The Prime Minister also said that there is no country in the world that has made progress without science and technology.

Tis Hazari court violence: FIR registered, senior officials addressing concerns, says Delhi CP

New Delhi, Nov 05 (ANI): Police stage protest at Police Headquarters (PHQ) in Delhi's ITO on November 05. Protest was against the clash that broke out between police and lawyers at Tis Hazari Court complex on November 02. While speaking to mediapersons, Delhi Commissioner of Police Amulya Patnaik said that FIR has been registered and concerns are being addressed. "FIR has been registered in the incidents in which police personnel were assaulted. We are addressing the anger (of police personnel) caused by these incidents. Discussions are underway, senior officials are addressing all the concerns."

BJP-Shiv Sena alliance will form govt in Maharashtra soon: Chandrakant Patil

Mumbai, Nov 05 (ANI): Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman attended 25th year of democratising of capital market in Mumbai. While addressing the gathering, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said that India needs a vibrant stock market. "It was post (National Stock Exchange) NSE's setting up that many cities were covered and around 2,00,000 terminals were set up. NSE has highlighted that we can do it with a home-grown organisation," she further added.

PMC Bank holders protest outside RBI office in Mumbai

Mumbai, Nov 05 (ANI): Punjab and Maharashtra Co-operative (PMC) Bank holders staged protest outside the RBI office in Mumbai. Children were also present in the protest. The protesters were holding placards reading 'innocent people have lost their lives' and 'we demand our money back'. The PMC Bank has been put under restrictions by the RBI after an alleged fraud of Rs 4,355 crore scam came to light. However, till now five people have been arrested in the case.

Tis Hazari clash: Delhi CP Amulya Patnaik urges cops to maintain peace

New Delhi, Nov 05 (ANI): Delhi Police protested at Police Head Quarters (PHQ) in ITO, against the clash that broke out between police and lawyers at Tis Hazari Court on November 02. While addressing the police personnel, Delhi Commissioner of Police Amulya Patnaik urged police personnel to maintain peace. "In last few days, there have been certain incidents in the capital, which we handled very well. The situation is improving after that. I appeal to all to maintain peace. It's trying time for us. We need to fulfil the responsibility of maintaining law and order. It is expected from us that we the protectors of law will continue to assure law and order in the capital," said Amulya Patnaik.

There has been 100% compliance of odd-even scheme, except 1-2 emergency cases: Delhi Transport Minister

New Delhi, Nov 05 (ANI): Transport Minister Kailash Gahlot went on the roads of Delhi to inspect the implementation of 'odd-even scheme'. Speaking on it, Gahlot said, "I have been on the road for more than 1 hour. There has been a100% compliance, except 1-2 cases of emergency." On being asked about the Supreme Court's call on 'odd-even scheme', he said, "We have curbed the pollution that eventually comes from 15 lakh cars. Once the odd-even scheme ends, we will look into the data and the results and would show it to the public." 'Odd-Even Scheme' was launched on Nov 04.

Government secretly wanted to sign RCEP: PL Punia

New Delhi, Nov 05 (ANI): National spokesperson of Congress and Rajya Sabha Member, PL Punia on November 05 said that the government secretly wanted to sign the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP). He said, "However the Congress protested against it so they (Government) had to back out. We had a booming economy back then and balance of payment was also in our favour. By what means have they kept China in the association." India will not be part of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership or RCEP -- which will be the world's largest free trade pact of 16 nations. India has called for a "mutually beneficial RCEP in which all sides gain reasonably", which, on the ground, involves market access and tariffs.

Indian Sikh pilgrims arrive in Pakistan for Guru Nanak's 550th birth anniversary

Attari- Wagah Border, Nov 05 (ANI): Sikh Jatha entered the Pakistan through Attari-Wagah border to celebrate Sikhism founder Guru Nanak Dev's 550th birth anniversary at Nankana Sahib. On 24 October, India and Pakistan signed a landmark agreement to operationalise the historic Kartarpur Corridor to allow Indian Sikh pilgrims to visit the holy Darbar Sahib in Pakistan. Sri Guru Nanak Dev, the founder of Sikhism, had spent more than 18 years of his life at the Gurdwara Kartarpur, located on the banks of the river Ravi.

Delhi pollution: Foreign tourists all set to take masks' help for protection

New Delhi, Nov 05 (ANI): A thick layer of smog continued to cover the sky of the national capital on November 05. The air quality of Delhi took a major hit due to a combination of stubble burning, firecracker emissions and unfavourable meteorological conditions. Several foreign tourists coming to Delhi are well aware about the problems of pollution. They are all set to wear masks in order to protect and shield themselves from harmful environment. Additionally, the Arvind Kejriwal led-government in Delhi has announced the implementation of the 'odd-even scheme' from November 04-15 to curb the air pollution. Earlier, the Supreme Court-mandated Environment Pollution (Prevention and Control) Authority (EPCA) declared public health emergency in Delhi due to rising air pollution levels on November 01.

Manipur mechanic is all set to fly his own helicopter

Thoubal (Manipur), Nov 05 (ANI): A 45-year-old man, hailing from Thoubal district of Manipur is making his own helicopter, although he is just a mechanic. Thokchom Sunil Singh is making a helicopter, which will fly within a year. He has also headed a large number of mechanics at prestigious places like- Maruti Service Centre etc. Most of the people in Manipur have been suffering from sky high inflation rate. In order to relieve and solve their problems, Thokchom decided to construct a helicopter from past six years. Since then, he has been working on it, as of now he claims that 80% of the work has been completed and within six months to a year, he will be completing and will have his first test flying. His desire to make the helicopter has made him to browse internet and study the techniques required for building the helicopter. So far, he has spent more than Rs 15 lakhs in this project.

Vegetable prices shoot up in Patna after flood hits supply

Patna (Bihar), Nov 05 (ANI): Vegetable prices soared high in Patna. Price soared high due to shortage of supply caused by heavy rains and floods. After prices of onions rose, prices of other vegetables also shot up. The excessive rainfall and flood-like situation in many parts of the country have affected the vegetable prices. Earlier, the government had imposed a ban on the export of the onions to curb and bring down it's the prices in the domestic market.

The state government took the step after 5 labourers were killed by terrorists in Kulgam on Oct 29. Meanwhile, labourers are claiming that there is no work in West Bengal for them. One of the labourers said, "There is no work here, if government provides us something, we'll stay, else we'll have to return to Kashmir to feed ourselves."

Traffic police exempted an 'even-numbered' vehicle on 'odd day' to reach hospital

New Delhi, Nov 05 (ANI): To combat air pollution, CM Arvind Kejriwal-led government launched 'odd-even scheme' in Delhi. It is 'odd day' on Nov 05 and only vehicles with 'odd number' are allowed to go on the roads. Meanwhile, traffic police personnel allowed an 'even-numbered' vehicle during checking to reach hospital. Pushkar fair commences with cultural activities in full fervour

5 dead after collision between truck, auto in Bihar's Muzaffarpur

Muzaffarpur (Bihar), Nov 05 (ANI): Five people including 3 children were dead after a collision between a truck and an auto took place in Bihar's Muzaffarpur on November 05. The road accident took place in Ahiyapur area of Muzaffarpur. Around seven passengers were travelling in the auto when the mishappening occurred. A compensation of Rs 4 lakh will be given to the family members of the deceased. While speaking to ANI, District Magistrate (DM) of Muzaffarpur, Alok Ranjan Ghosh said, "A compensation of Rs 4 lakh each will be given to family of the deceased. Investigation is on to find cause of accident. Also, we are trying to get more information on this case from the eyewitness."
