Cops stage protest outside PHQ after clash broke out between police, lawyers at Tis Hazari Court

New Delhi, Nov 05 (ANI): Several police personnel staged protest outside Police Head Quarters (PHQ) in the national capital on November 05. They were doing protest against the clash that broke out between police and lawyers at Tis Hazari Court on November 02. At least 20 police personnel and a number of advocates were injured while many vehicles were being vandalised or set on fire during the incident. Delhi Police has issued an order to its officers asking them to ensure the safety of their fellow officers.

Posters seeking Aaditya Thackeray as CM put up outside his Mumbai residence

Mumbai, Nov 05 (ANI): A poster with a picture of Shiv Sena leader Aaditya Thackeray was put up outside Thackeray's residence in Mumbai. The message written on poster is-'My MLA My Chief Minister,' which was put up outside 'Matoshree' (Thackeray residence). The poster has been allegedly put up by Shiv Sena Corporator Haji Halim Khan. Aaditya Thackeray is Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) from Mumbai's Worli assembly constituency.

Over 1000 exhibitors are expected in Defence Expo 2020: Rajnath Singh

New Delhi, Nov 05 (ANI): Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh attended the Ambassadors' Round Table conference in the national capital on November 04. While addressing the gathering, Rajnath Singh said, "In coming edition of Defence Expo, the event will showcase our intent to achieve a turnover of approximately US$ 26 Billion in aerospace and defence goods and services by 2025." "We will also showcase our plans for Defence Corridors in UP and Tamil Nadu where we already have investment commitments of about US$ 1 Billion. More than 100 business events and seminars are being planned and over 1000 exhibitors are expected in Defence Expo 2020," Defence Minister added.

AQI dips to 'very poor' category in Ghaziabad

Ghaziabad (Uttar Pradesh), Nov 05 (ANI): The air quality of Delhi-National Capital Region (NCR) took a major hit due to a combination of stubble burning, firecracker emissions and unfavourable meteorological conditions in past few weeks. A thick layer of smog continued to cover the sky in the NCR region on November 05. Several locals were seen doing exercises wearing masks in Uttar Pradesh's Ghaziabad on November 05. People were doing exercise in Indirapuram area of Ghaziabad. A public health emergency has been declared in the Delhi-NCR region due to rising pollution. Residents have complained of a spike in respiratory problems, allergies and other health issues. Smog canopies Delhi, air quality remains under 'severe' category

New Delhi, Nov 05 (ANI): A thick layer of smog blankets the national capital on November 05. The air quality of Delhi took a major hit due to a combination of stubble burning, firecracker emissions and unfavourable meteorological conditions. According to the Air Quality Index (AQI) data and System of Air Quality and Weather Forecasting and Research (SAFAR), major pollutants in Delhi's Lodhi Road area were PM 2.5 at 500 and PM 10 at 413 both in 'severe' category. Higher value of AQI indicates greater level of air pollution and health concern. Residents have complained of a spike in respiratory problems, allergies and other health issues. On November 01, the Supreme Court-mandated Environment Pollution (Prevention and Control) Authority (EPCA) declared public health emergency in Delhi due to rising air pollution levels. Air Purifiers installed at Taj Mahal to tackle pollution

Agra (UP), Nov 05 (ANI): In a bid to combat pollution, district administration has installed air purifying machines in Taj Mahal. RK Rathi, Executive Engineer, Agra Municipal Corporation said, "An agency has been directed to do mechanised cleaning as well as deploy two air purifying machines at the gates of Taj Mahal." "The machines have the capacity to purify 15 thousand cubic metre air in eight hours and we have been using these across the city since last 4 days. We are also doing mechanised cleaning like spraying water on roads and trees in the city," he added.

'Health ATM' installed at Lucknow Railway Station for instant checkup

Lucknow (UP), Nov 05 (ANI): A 'Health ATM' has been installed at Lucknow Railway Station where passengers can get upto 16 health checkups done at a charge of Rs 50-100. State head of this Health ATM project said, "Under 'Fit India Movement' programme has been launched in collaboration with Indian Railways." "Such machines are being gradually installed at all railways stations across India, it's the 1st in UP. Around 16 health tests can be done at a nominal charge of Rs 50-100. Passengers get a hard and soft copy of their reports instantly," he added.

WB govt helps 138 workers to return from JandK

Kolkata (West Bengal), Nov 05 (ANI): A total of 138 labourers and workers, who had gone to Jammu and Kashmir to earn a living, were brought back from Srinagar on Nov 04 in the wake of a terror attack last month in which five labourers from West Bengal were killed. While 133 of them are from West Bengal, five are from Assam. Five labourers were killed in a terror attack in Kulgam on October 29. Speaking to the media, Firhad Hakim, Mayor of Kolkata and Minister-incharge Urban Development and Municipal Affairs, said the workers will be sent to their homes. "We have brought them. We have arranged for buses which will take them to their homes in their respective districts," he said.

Electricity dept employees wear helmets to protect themselves from crumbling building in UP's Banda
