Ajmer (Rajasthan), Oct 10 (ANI): A woman constable was seen slapping a devotee at Ajmer Sharif Dargah, Rajasthan in a video that has gone viral. According to Kunwar Rashtradeep, Superintendent of Police (SP), Ajmer, the devotee was taking a toy which looked like a weapon, inside the dargah premises which was not allowed inside. "The woman constable tried to stop the devotee who started an argument with the former. The devotee also abused the woman constable. Now, we are further investigating the matter," said Rashtradeep.
Chennai (Tamil Nadu), Oct 10 (ANI): Preparations are almost complete at Tamil Nadu's Chennai Airport ahead of the arrival of Chinese President Xi Jinping. The Chinese President will be on Tamil Nadu visit from October 11-12 for the second Informal Summit with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Gaya (Bihar), Oct 10 (ANI): A married woman was allegedly gang-raped by three men at her house in Bihar's Gaya on 7th October. Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Gaya, Rajiv Mishra said, "Two of the three accused have been arrested, efforts are on to nab the third one. Further investigation is underway."
Bhilwara (Rajasthan), Oct 10 (ANI): Two youth were thrashed by mob on suspicion of child-lifting in Rajasthan's Bhilwara. The incident happened in Dholi village. Police official said, "Both men are undergoing treatment at a hospital. 5 people have been arrested, further investigation is underway."
Supaul (Bihar), Oct 10 (ANI): A woman and her sister who was minor were allegedly gang raped on gun point in Husainabad village in Raghopur area of Supaul district on October 08. The injured woman was shot by accused for resisting. ASP, Birpur said, "We're on the spot and have sent victim to hospital. We're investigating the matter".
Moga (Punjab), Oct 10 (ANI): At least one died, while four others were injured after a vehicle of convoy of Shiromiani Akali Dal (SAD) leader Bikram Singh Majithia collided with a truck at Moga-Kotkapura bypass, in Punjab on the night of October 9. The convoy was on the way to Bathinda. The injured have been admitted to a hospital.

Ghaziabad (Uttar Pradesh), Oct 11 (ANI): After an eight-month-long wait, the Hindon Airport is ready for the first flight on October 11. The first flight from Hindon will be from the Heritage Aviation Company. CEO of Heritage Aviation Private Limited, Rohit Mathur said, "A 9-seater plane will take off from Pithoragarh to Hindon at 11:30 am, and it will leave for Pithoragarh from Hindon at 1 pm. Thursday will be an off day. After Pithoragarh, we are also trying to start operations on Shimla route." The Hindon airport had been inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on March 8, since then there had been many assumptions about the first flight from it. The starting of flight service from Hindon will greatly reduce the burden on the New Delhi airport and will also enable passengers from the western Uttar Pradesh region to save time.
Mumbai, Oct 10 (ANI): Five girls from different schools of Mumbai will represent India in a robotics competition. All girls are between 14-18 years of age. They will participate in a robotics competition, 'First Global Challenge 2019'. It will be held in Dubai from 24-27 October. The theme of robotics competition is 'Ocean Opportunities' and challenge for participants is to build robots to clean up oceans. While speaking to ANI, one of the team members, Aarushi Shah said, "We have to design build and program a robot from scratch that completes that challenge. Every team receives the same kinds and number of parts.""What is important is thinking out of the box and innovating. Our wish is to make our country proud,"Aarushi added. Students from 193 countries from around the world are going to participate in the competition.
Vadodara (Gujarat), Oct 10 (ANI): A crocodile was rescued by the Forest Department in Gujarat's Vadodara on October 09. It was rescued from the Vadodara-Anand national highway. Crocodile will be later released in the nearby jungle by the team.
New Delhi, Oct 10 (ANI): Amazon has rolled out a new multilingual mode for its Alexa digital assistant which allows users to switch between languages easily. Now when users talk to Alexa, they will be able to seamlessly switch between English and Hindi, without having to manually change the language settings, the official press release notes. For instance, if a query is made in Hindi, Alexa will respond in the same language. The feature is primarily aimed at Indian households where both languages are used interchangeably.
New Delhi, Oct 10 (ANI): The Minister of State (MoS) in Prime Minister's Office (PMO) Dr Jitendra Singh released a book on Article 370 in the national capital on October 09. The book was written by a 14-year-old school girl. While speaking to ANI, Ayanna Kohli said, "In last two months, I have travelled across the country, I can say the decision to abrogate Article 370 has been celebrated by each Indian." The book offers an account of the sacrifices made by Indian soldiers in the service of Kashmir and seeks to draw the inference that it was necessary to revoke Article 370 in order to bring lasting peace in Kashmir.

Vijayawada (Andhra Pradesh), Oct 10 (ANI): The Andhra Pradesh government is planning to provide house plots to Imams working in mosques. Imams having white ration cards (proof of BPL family) are only eligible for the scheme. While speaking to ANI, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Andhra Pradesh State Waqf Board Syed Shabbar Basha said, "The Andhra Pradesh State Waqf Board has written to all the lesser income masjids to avail the scheme. The Imams who want to get a housing plot should apply with their Aadhar card and ration card." "The scheme is for Imams who don't have a house. They can submit their application to village volunteers, panchayat or ward secretaries," he added. Over 5000 imams of lesser income mosques across the state will get this benefit under the state housing scheme. The application for this housing scheme will be submitted through the volunteer's or panchayat secretaries to inspectors address and it will be forwarded to the MRO.
New Delhi, Oct 10 (ANI): A recent study found that diabetic patients, who regain weight, lose out on the initial benefits of reduced risk of cardiovascular diseases compared to those who maintain their weight. Regaining weight previously lost is common and can deteriorate the initial benefits of lowered heart disease or stroke risks. Few studies have directly compared cardiometabolic risk between people who successfully lost weight and maintained the weight loss to those who regained weight, particularly among people with Type 2 diabetes. Researchers analysed data from nearly 1,600 participants with Type 2 diabetes in an intensive weight loss study who lost at least 3 per cent of their initial body weight. The researchers used data from the Look AHEAD study, which assessed a year-long intensive lifestyle intervention program to promote weight loss, compared to standard care for heart disease and stroke risk, among people diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes and who were overweight. Pune (Maharashtra), Oct 10 (ANI): One person died after a tree fell on a service bus belonging to the Municipal Corporation in Maharashtra's Pune on October 09. The incident took place following heavy rainfall in city. Speaking to media, the fire brigade department said, "One person died due to falling of a tree near Grahak Peth area on Tilak road due to heavy rain in the city. A tree had fallen on a moving service bus of Municipal Corporation in which the driver of the bus was trapped inside the vehicle." According to Pune District Magistrate, "More than 60 incidents of tree uprooting were reported in last three hours due to heavy rainfall in the city. Some vehicles also reported damages." "A total of 310 people have been shifted to a safe place due to water-logging in the houses after heavy rains in the city," the statement added.
