Ramban (JandK), Sep 29 (ANI): Congratulating the security forces for the successful operation in JandK's Ramban district where three terrorists were killed while the lone civilian hostage was rescued, state's Director General of Police (DGP) Dilbagh Singh said the forces strive to make Doda-Kishtwar-Ramban range "free of militancy". "I congratulate the team for successful operation in which a civilian was rescued and three militants were killed yesterday. I grieve the loss of our personnel. We strive to make Doda-Kishtwar-Ramban range free of militancy," Singh said in Ramban where he visited the Batote encounter site.
New Delhi, Sep 29 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived at the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) headquarters in Delhi on Sunday for party's central election committee meeting ahead of assembly polls in Haryana and Maharashtra. BJP president and Union Home Minister Amit Shah and BJP working president JP Nadda were also present for the meeting. Elections for Maharashtra and Haryana assemblies will be held on October 21 and counting of votes will be done on October 24.
New Delhi, Sep 29 (ANI): Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare Dr Harsh Vardhan inspected ongoing beautification work of 'Naini Lake' in the national capital on September 29. Naini Lake is a waterbody which is situated in the middle of the bustling Model town in north Delhi. Recently, a team from National Environmental Engineering Research Institute collected a water sample from the lake to check its Biological Oxygen Demand (BOD) level for the survival of aquatic life.

Durbar is held at this hall every year during Navaratri. Crystal chandelier illuminated the golden throne where King Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar was seated. The diamond studded golden throne was assembled this morning ahead of private Durbar.
Patna (Bihar), Sep 29 (ANI): Around 24 districts of Bihar including Patna were badly hit after incessant rains lashed the state on September 28. Locals are facing several problems in the low-lying areas due to continuous rainfall. The death toll has mounted to 17 due to floods and incessant rainfall. The teams of National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) have been deployed in the city to rescue locals stranded due to flood. Heavy rain lashed wide areas of Patna causing water-logging problem. Patna remained the worst affected after several localities in the city were left water-logged after the rains. Normal life was thrown out of gear after rainwater entered in the residential areas and houses were submerged under knee-deep water.
Gurugram (Haryana), Sep 29 (ANI): A group of miscreants looted two flats of Sanskriti Apartments in Haryana's Gurugram. The incident took place on September 25 and was captured in a CCTV camera of the apartment. Case of robbery has been registered in the nearby police station in this regard. Investigation is underway in the case.
New Delhi, Sep 29 (ANI): Talking about civic elections in Jammu and Kashmir, Union Home Minister Amit Shah said, "We ensured Panchayat polls happen in Jammu and Kashmir after which 40,000 village heads are working for development. In next 4-5 days Tehsil and Zila Panchayat elections will be held. Three-tier Panchayat system will be fully functional in the state."
Siliguri (West Bengal), Sep 29 (ANI): Continuous rainfall has affected Durga Puja preparations in several districts of North Bengal including Siliguri. The pandal workers have stopped their work due to the rainfall. According to the organisers in Siliguri, they somehow managed 60 per cent work of the pandal decoration on the outer parts, but rest is becoming very tough to make shape."We are worried as Durga Puja is approaching and we are not yet ready with the pandal. We are unable to complete decorations in the outer part of pandal due to rainfall," local told ANI.

But there are proper arrangements and administration is at the spot and making all the efforts to help people. Arrangements are being done to provide drinking water to all. Also, arrangements are being made for community kitchens for the flood-affected people"

"Even today there are many rumours doing rounds about Article 370 and Kashmir. It is important to clarify them. Dungarpur (Rajasthan), Sep 29 (ANI): Around 20 schoolchildren were escaped in Rajasthan's Dungarpur district on September 28. They were stuck after the truck they were travelling in veered off in the flooded road. The mishappening occurred while the driver was carrying dozen of schoolchildren in a truck.
New Delhi, Sep 29 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday (September 29) said e-cigarettes were banned to prevent the youth from falling into the new way of intoxication. He also said there are several misconceptions being spread about use of e cigarettes, including the one which says that it is not harmful for health. In the latest edition of his monthly 'Mann ki Baat' radio address Modi said several harmful chemicals are added to e cigarettes which have a bad effect on health. Urging people to shun tobacco, the prime minister warned that e-cigarettes, which are used as a "fashion statement", are a new way of getting addicted to nicotine. There is very little awareness among people about e-cigarettes. They are completely unaware of its danger and for this reason sometimes e-cigarettes find their way into homes out of curiosity.
