FM Sitharaman holds meeting with secretaries, financial advisors of selected ministries in Delhi

New Delhi, Sep 27 (ANI): Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman held a meeting with secretaries and financial advisors of key selected ministries in the national capital on September 27. The meeting was conducted to review total CAPEX (capital expenditure) by the ministries in 2019-20 till now and to plan for future CAPEX in current financial year. While addressing the media afterwards, Nirmala Sitharaman said, "Tomorrow (September 28), we will have a separate meeting with different agencies of Public Sector Undertaking (PSU) and other agencies which come under different ministries."

2nd Kalvari class Submarine INS Khanderi to commissioned on Sep 28 in Mumbai

Mumbai, Sep 27 (ANI): Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh to commission the second Kalvari class Submarine INS Khanderi in Mumbai on September 28. While speaking to ANI, Commanding Officer of INS Khanderi, Captain Dalbir Singh said, "It is the second submarine of Kalveri class. I am absolutely satisfied with the performance of this submarine." "Results of all the trials of this submarine were better than we expected. It is a force-multiplier for us," he added. The first of the class, INS Kalvari, was commissioned in December 2017.

"Capital Expenditure (CAPEX) is on track as per budget target. Government owes only Rs 20,000 crores dues that will be released by first week of October. Have asked all ministries and will ask Central Public Sector Enterprises tomorrow to prepare CAPEX plan for next four quarter," FM added.

Delhi govt will sell onion at Rs 23.90 per kg from Sep 28: CM Kejriwal

In his speech, he outlined the lacking points and appreciated the works done by NDMA throughout in past 15 years. He also talked about future responsibilities of NDMA and their challenges. "The requirement of our fire department in terms of man power, equipment, technology building and training NDMA has addressed the challenges. It is now time to revisit those guidelines keeping in view recent experiences and technological changes," PK Mishra further added. NDMA, is an agency of the Ministry of Home Affairs whose primary purpose is to coordinate response to natural or man-made disasters and for capacity-building in disaster resiliency and crisis response.

Inter-state arms trafficking racket busted by Delhi Police

New Delhi, Sep 27 (ANI): Special Cell of Delhi Police has busted an interstate gang involved in illicit arms trafficking and arrested two accused Jitendra and Raj Bahadur. During the investigation of various heinous cases, police has noted that criminals of Delhi-NCR are using illegal firearms that are frequently being supplied to them by the illegal arms traffickers. SC directed govt to pay compensation to flat owners: Maradu Housing Protection Committee Chairman

Kochi (Kerala), Sep 27 (ANI): The Supreme Court on September 27 directed demolition of flats built on the coastal zone of Kochi's Maradu within 138 days and asked the Kerala government to pay Rs 25 lakh interim compensation to each flat owner within four weeks. While speaking to ANI, Chairman of Maradu Housing Protection Committee, Shamsudeen Karunagapally said, "We see some relief for the flat owners. Today, SC identified flat owners' rights and SC directed government to pay compensation to flat owners." "It is a good decision, but how to implement this decision, it's not very clear," he added. The top court also ordered setting up of a one-member committee of retired high court judge to oversee the demolition and assess total compensation. Court also fixed the matter for further hearing on October 25.

Babri Masjid demolition case: BJP's Kalyan Singh to appear before court

Last week, the court had directed CBI to produce Singh on September 27.
