Mumbai, Sep 27 (ANI): Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Nawab Malik spoke to mediapersons on Sharad Pawar's visit to Enforcement Directorate office. Malik said, "Enforcement Directorate (ED) has sent an e-mail stating that Sharad Pawar is not required to visit the office today. When required, ED will intimate him. But, Sharad Pawar is firm to go to ED office."

2 years after Gorakhpur hospital tragedy, Dr Kafeel Khan gets clean chit

New Delhi, Sep 27 (ANI): A departmental inquiry has absolved pediatrician Dr Kafeel Khan of the charges of medical negligence, corruption and dereliction of duty on the day more than 60 children died at Gorakhpur's BRD Medical College due to oxygen shortage in August 2017. Inquiry Officer has admitted that 'Dr. Kafeel brought 500 oxygen cylinders in 54 hours. He hasn't committed any negligence. All the allegations levelled against him are irrelevant and without any substance.' The report comes two years after Khan was suspended from the hospital and spent nine months in jail for the charges that he has now been cleared of. The doctor, who is out on bail, continues to be suspended from the BRD Medical College. He has demanded a CBI probe into the tragedy.

Rain lashes in parts of country, brings respite to scorching heat

Chandrayaan-2 may be hiding in shadows, says NASA after capturing landing site

New Delhi, Sep 27 (ANI): National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) on Friday released high-resolution images of the lunar region where Chandrayaan-2 lander, Vikram had attempted a soft landing earlier this month. The images were taken by NASA's Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter, however, owing to dusk the lander could not be located. The US space agency also issued a statement saying it is possible that the Vikram lander is hiding in a shadow. The US space agency also stated that another attempt to locate lander will be made in October when the lighting is favourable. Earlier this month, the Chandryaan-2 orbiter had also clicked a thermal image of Vikram Lander. The Lander Vikram was scheduled to make a soft-landing near the south pole of the moon on September 7. However, minutes before its scheduled soft-landing, the communication with Vikram Lander was lost. The Vikram Lander had successfully separated from Chandrayaan-2 Orbiter on September 2. NCP leaders, police arrive at NCP chief Sharad Pawar's residence

Mumbai, Sep 27 (ANI): Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leaders arrived at Sharad Pawar's residence in Mumbai. Joint CP Vinay Choubey along with a team of police officers arrived at Pawar's residence. NCP leader Nawab Malik claimed that Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government is misusing Enforcement Directorate (ED) in connection with Sharad Pawar's name in Rs 5,000 crore Maharashtra State Co-operative Bank (MSCB) scam case. While speaking to mediapersons, Malik said, "Police is detaining NCP workers in Mumbai and in other parts of the state, which is not right. Sharad Pawar will definitely go to ED office at 2 pm today. BJP government is misusing Enforcement Directorate."

1 dead after fire breaks out at hospital in West Bengal

Siliguri (West Bengal), Sep 27 (ANI): At least one patient died after fire broke out at CCU (Coronary Care Unit) in North Bengal Medical College and Hospital in WB's Siliguri on September 27. Fire tenders rushed to the spot to douse the flames. Nine patients have been shifted to a private hospital. Further investigation is underway.

Transgender community banned from entering Surat market

Surat (Gujarat), Sep 27 (ANI): Members of the transgender community were banned from entering a market in Gujarat's Surat after a man was allegedly beaten to death by a transgender. A notice was also pasted in the market banning the community from entering it. The members of the transgender community, however, said that they should not be punished because of the crime committed by another person."We are distressed by this ban. New research enables more heart donations

New Delhi, Sep 27 (ANI): Many hearts are declared unfit for donation due to stress-induced heart failure. But a recent study found that this condition has no bearing on the outcome of a transplant further opening path for up to 30 per cent more heart transplants. The study, published in 'The Journal of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery,' is based on particulars of 641 potential heart donors in Sweden in the years 2006-2016. Either these people, who had been declared brain-dead, had said yes to donation during their lives or their survivors had given the go-ahead. As many as 24 per cent of potential donors had acute stress-induced cardiomyopathy, or broken heart syndrome, in which cardiac function is impaired in one part of the heart, while the other parts beat normally. This condition is caused by the massive surge in stress hormones observed in the course of brain death. CM Gehlot directs officials to work effectively on projects for farmers' welfare

Jaipur (Rajasthan), September 26 (ANI): Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot recently chaired the Agriculture Department meeting to review the various schemes of the department. In the meeting, CM said that the welfare of farmers is the top priority of the state government.
