Bengaluru, Feb 03 (ANI): While addressing at the Aero India Show in Bengaluru on February 03, Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh said, "Despite the constraints caused by the global COVID-19 pandemic, I am pleased to see such a large number of participants in this year's event. It is coming from the world's leading nations in the field of military and aviation." "The Aero India 21 will display the vast potential of India, and the multifarious opportunities that our country offers in the field of defence and aerospace sector. It also promises to be the World's First Ever Hybrid Aero and Defence exhibition," he added. "In order to maximize the reach and participation, event is being conducted in a hybrid format with a concurrent Virtual Exhibition which will integrate Seminars, B2B interactions etc. It'll be not incorrect to say, that Aero India 21 has truly gone digital and global," Defence Minister further stated.

Will spend 130 Billion Dollar on military modernization in next 7-8 years: Rajnath Singh

Bengaluru, Feb 03 (ANI): While addressing at the Aero India Show in Bengaluru on February 03, Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh said, "I have been informed that about 540 exhibitors including 80 foreign companies, Defence Ministers, Delegates, Service chiefs and officials from more than 55 nations are participating in this event. It reflects growing optimism of the global community." "I express my deep sense of gratitude to the Defence Ministers from Maldives, Ukraine, Equatorial Guinea, Iran, Comoros and Madagascar who have joined this show in person, and many others who are joining virtually," he added. "We have taken steps to strengthen our security apparatus. Domestic manufacturing of bigger and complex defence platforms has now become focus of our policy under 'AatmaNirbhar Bharat Abhiyan'. We plan to spend 130 Billion Dollar on military modernization in next 7-8 years," Defence Minister further stated.

Indian govt enhanced FDI in defence sector upto 74% through Automatic Route: Rajnath Singh

Bengaluru, Feb 03 (ANI): While addressing at the Aero India Show in Bengaluru on February 03, Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh said, "The government of India has enhanced FDI in Defence Sector upto 74% through the Automatic Route and 100% through the government route, which would act as a catalyst for foreign players to invest in India." "I am very happy that HAL has got the orders for development of 83 new indigenous Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) - Tejas MK1A from Indian Air Force (IAF) valued at more than Rs 48,000 crores, it is probably the biggest 'Make in India' Defence contract till date," he added.

Rajnath Singh hands over contract of 83 LCA Tejas fighters to HAL

Bengaluru, Feb 03 (ANI): Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh has handed over the contract of 83 Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) Tejas fighters to Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL). The Ministry of Defence handed over Tejas fighters to HAL at Aero India show in Bengaluru. Three Mi-17 helicopters took part in the flypast at the inauguration of the Aero India Show-2021 today. The event will be held till February 05.

Facebook to offer more security features in 2021

New Delhi, Dec 24 (ANI): Social media giant Facebook said it will start allowing users to prepare physical safety keys as a way to confirm their identity before logging into the social network's mobile app, beginning next year. According to Mashable, the Mark Zuckerberg-owned company is now offering a choice to use a hardware security key to connect to one's desktop computer prior to each log-in. The users could purchase a hardware key through retailers, and register with Facebook, the social media giant said, confirming an earlier report by Axios. The world's biggest social network said it also intends to enlarge 'Facebook Protect', that is, its own security program for high-profile accounts for example election applicants, to more kinds of accounts globally next year. Presently available in the US, Facebook Protect offers a means for politicians, government agencies, and election personnel to set up additional safety provisions such as two-factor authentication and real-time tracking
