Man allegedly killed by mob on suspicion of child lifting in UP's Sambhal

Sambhal (Uttar Pradesh), Aug 28 (ANI): In a gruesome incident, one man was allegedly killed and another got critically injured after they were beaten up by a mob on suspicion of child-lifting in Uttar Pradesh's Sambhal. Police reached the spot soon after the incident occurred and the victims were rushed to a nearby hospital. While speaking to ANI, Superintendent of Police, Yamuna Prasad said, "We have arrested four people till now and strict action will be taken against the accused people. Investigation in the matter is underway," He added, "The victims were heading to Chandausi, Uttar Pradesh, with their nephew for his medical treatment when a mob stooped them near a village and attacked on suspicion of child-lifting. One victim died when he was brought to the hospital and another person is being treated here."

Amritsar MP Gurjeet Singh assures medical help after woman chains drug-addict daughter

Amritsar (Punjab), Aug 28 (ANI): A woman was forced to chain her daughter to bed to stop her from taking drugs. After the incident came into light, Amritsar MP Gurjeet Singh Aujla visited the family and assured them of medical help. While speaking to ANI, he said, "It's an unfortunate incident. I've directed doctors to treat the affected girl at her home". Woman who chained drug-addict daughter to bed said, "I admitted my daughter to a Government-run de-addiction centre 3 times, but they used to release her in 4-5 days. How can a drug addict be cured in 4-5 days? I even implored doctors to admit my daughter till she was cured, but to no avail."

Diabetic college students at risk of depression, says Study

New Delhi, Aug 28 (ANI): Diabetic students attending universities face a high level of diabetes-related distress mainly arising due to their concerns about living with this medical condition, a new study has suggested. According to the study published in the 'Journal of the American Osteopathic Association,' diabetic students who attended universities had high levels of diabetes distress, a condition of feeling worried and frustrated about living with diabetes. It is associated with fewer self-care behaviours, suboptimal glycemic control and lower quality of life. The study surveyed 173 people with Type 1 diabetes mellitus (T1DM) and Type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM), who worked at or attended a university. High levels of diabetes distress were reported by 27 per cent of those with T1DM and 30 per cent of those with T2DM. Girl goes missing days after accusing BJP's Chinmayanand of harassment in UP's Shahjahanpur

Shahjahanpur (Uttar Pradesh), Aug 27 (ANI): The girl, who had accused former union minister and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Swami Chinmayanand of harassing her, has gone missing in Uttar Pradesh's Shahjahanpur. Chinmayanand is the director of the Swami Shukdevanand Law College in Shahjahanpur, where the girl was studying. On August 23, the girl had posted a video on social media alleging that BJP leader is threatening to kill her as she has some evidence against him. 16-ft long python kills goat in Mathura, later rescued by forest officials
