Mumbai, Aug 27 (ANI): Meet Kiran Isher, a resident of Poonch, who is taking 3 idols of Lord Ganesha from Mumbai to Jammu. It included a 6.5ft tall idol called 'India-Pak Border cha Raja,' which would be placed at LoC border. The other two idols will be installed at Maratha Regiment in Poonch. She has been transporting an idol for Ganesh Chaturthi from last 10 years. While speaking to mediapersons, Kiran Isher said, "I've been doing it for last 10 yrs to boost the morale of our jawans and instill a feeling of harmony among citizens."
Shahjahanpur (UP), Aug 27 (ANI): Atleast 16 people died in Uttar Pradesh's Shahjahanpur after a truck overturned on two tempos on August 27. The injured have been rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has taken the cognizance of the incident and directed the district administration to provide medical care to the injured. Directions to provide appropriate compensations were also given.
Bengaluru, Aug 27 (ANI): Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Nalin Kumar Kateel took charge as Karnataka BJP chief in Bengaluru on August 27. He was felicitated by state Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa. Speaking on this development, Yediyurappa said, "He is a hard worker, he has become a member of Lok Sabha for the 3rd time. Entire organisation is with him, we are going to win a minimum of 150 seats in next Assembly elections under his leadership. Later, when he was asked about the difference of opinion in portfolio allocation, he added, "There is no difference of opinion."

While speaking to ANI, on this issue, Congress Leader Ivan D'Souza said, "In the history of Karnataka, we have never seen 3 deputy chief ministers. New Delhi, Aug 27 (ANI): The Union Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports, Kiren Rijiju on August 27 met shuttler PV Sindhu and said the badminton star has made the nation proud by becoming the first Indian to win gold at BWF World Championships. "Honoured @Pvsindhu1 who created history and made India proud by winning the World Badminton Championship for the first time! My best wishes to her in her pursuit to bring more glory to India," Rijiju tweeted. Sindhu became the first-Indian to win a World Championships gold medal by defeating Japan's Nozomi Okuhara 21-7, 21-7 in the finals of the tournament on Sunday.
Ambala (Haryana), Aug 27 (ANI): National working president of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Jagat Prakash Nadda visited family of Major Amit Ahuja at their residence in Haryana's Ambala. Major Ahuja sacrificed his life during a 2001 skirmish with terrorists along the Indo-Pak border in Jammu and Kashmir. Nadda honoured the family of slain soldier.

Especially the prices of onions and tomatoes are soaring high in the market. A local said, "Prices of vegetable keeps fluctuating. Prices of tomatoes and onions have increased." Several states have been severely affected due to floods owing to incessant rains.

Folk dance and art of Odisha will be performed on 26th of every month. At least 2-3 folk art performances will take place every month. Principal Secretary of Odia Language Literature and Culture Department, Manoranjan Panigrahy said, "Every month, we will be performing 2-3 folk art performances. In Odisha, we have 471 art groups. And we have more than 1 lakh artists. The purpose of today's programme will be to perform it every month."
Aligarh (UP), Aug 27 (ANI): Uttar Pradesh government had set up 'smart dustbins' under PM Modi's 'Smart Cities Mission' to make Aligarh, a smart city. Smart dustbins worth lakhs were set up almost a year ago. Administration didn't pay attention to these dustbins and hence, couldn't fulfill its motive. One of the locals said, "Govt had set up around 5 smart dustbins worth lakhs almost a year ago. These dustbins were underground and hence, no one could see garbage on streets. But even after a year, these dustbins couldn't establish their usage. No one is taking care of the garbage. We want to say if Aligarh is becoming smart city then they should work accordingly so that public can sigh in relief."
Amroha (Uttar Pradesh), Aug 27 (ANI): A man allegedly gave triple talaq to his wife for not gifting him a new 'kurta-pajama' on Eid. Man is a murder convict, who is in prison since a long time. Police said, "We've registered a case under The Muslim Women (Protection of Rights on Marriage) Bill, 2019. Action will be taken." Parliament passed a law on July 31 that criminalises the pronouncement of talaq thrice and prescribes up to three years imprisonment as punishment.
Ashoknagar (Madhya Pradesh), Aug 27 (ANI): A protest was held in Madhya Pradesh's Ashoknagar district against the district collector of area. Here, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP from Guna, KP Yadav made a derogatory remark against the DC Manju Sharma. The event was held with aim of promoting 'Beti Bachao Beti Padhao' campaign in every nook of district. The campaign focuses on bringing back girls, who have dropped out of schools. Giridih (Jharkhand), Aug 27 (ANI): A woman was thrashed by mob over suspicion of her being a child-lifter outside a bank in Jharkhand's Giridih. She was later rescued by police. Police said, "It was a misunderstanding. A woman saw the victim playing with her 2-year-old son and suspected her of being a child-lifter." Police further added, "A woman left her son with her 8-yr-old daughter outside a bank and went to withdraw cash. Victim, who was also going to bank saw the boy crying and started playing with him. When mother of the infant saw this, she accused the woman of being a child-lifter which led to violence."
Moradabad (Uttar Pradesh), Aug 27 (ANI): A boy who allegedly tried to molest a girl was beaten up by the victim and group of locals in Uttar Pradesh's Moradabad.
